Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard a loud grinding sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission bearing and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed about TSB: 22-2396 however, the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be repaired under the TSB. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the contact was advised to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
