NHTSA Complaint #11540024 — 2019 FORD EXPEDITION

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine during cold starts. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer however, the dealer failed to find a failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the failure was related to the cam phaser; however, there were no recalls on the VIN. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle did not qualify under a Customer Satisfaction Program. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
