To whom it may concern, I urgently report a critical safety issue with my 2013 Ford Edge that poses significant risks to driver and passenger safety. The door locking mechanism has malfunctioned, making it unresponsive to any switches inside or outside the vehicle. This prevents access or swift exit during emergencies, jeopardizing lives. Despite the door being securely closed, a false warning light indicates that the door is ajar. Opening the door from inside has become difficult due to a faulty interior handle, and the auto-locking system engages immediately upon manual opening, hindering quick exit. This issue has been reported on forums, and it appears that some dealerships are aware of the problem; however, the fix is reported to be costly. Such safety concerns demand immediate attention to avoid potential accidents and injuries. I request a thorough inspection of the malfunctioning component and urge for an urgent resolution. I also call for Ford's comprehensive investigation and prompt action to ensure driver safety. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. Please take immediate action to rectify this safety concern and safeguard lives on the road.
