Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while attempting to adjust the front driver’s side seat recliner, the electronic seat back recliner continued to move forward and failed to stop. The contact stated that the seat could not be readjusted, leaving the driver in an uncomfortable position while driving. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions after starting the vehicle and while driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the electronic seat back recliner mechanism had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 72,000.
