NHTSA Complaint #11504893 — 2015 FORD F-150

The contact’s husband owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after her husband opened the front driver's side door, the door failed to latch securely. The contact stated that he had to restart the vehicle and allow the vehicle to idle for hours for the door to latch securely. No warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there was no active recall for the VIN. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that two recall repairs were previously performed under Manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Campaign: 18N03 and NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V652000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) and advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
