NHTSA Complaint #11477174 — 2015 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, he was unable to shift gear shifter into another gear. The contact notified the tow company and the tow truck driver was able to place the shifter cable back onto the shifter tab. There were no warning lights illuminated. The next day the contact notified the local dealer and was informed that the remedy for NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) would be available in the fourth quarter of 2022. The contact shifted the vehicle to reverse and both ends of the shifter failed. The contact and neighbors pushed the vehicle to the side of the road and then the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,084.
