NHTSA Complaint #11677177 — 2015 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving on three separate occasions, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was previously diagnosed with a cracked flex plate, and the flex plate was replaced twice; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal knocking sound and lost motive power upon depression of the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 22N12. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was provided. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a vehicle safety complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
