When the radio is turned completely off to reset the Bluetooth the entire dashboard lights turn on and a malfunction warning is displayed that XYZ system is not working to call dealer to schedule appointment. There is an issue with the windows not rolling up either.
Car stalls from stop during acceleration. There are times when there is no response from throttle.
Throttle lag/hesitstaion , from a dead stop at stop sign I attempted to accelerate , my truck went a few inches forward and no pedal response after a 3 second delay my vehicle started accelerating again
What component failed and is it available for inspection? The front driver-side roof seam on my 2022 Toyota Tundra developed corrosion under the paint and eventually opened enough for rainwater to enter the cabin. Water drips directly into the A-pillar area onto the side curtain airbag wiring, squib connector, and padded harness. It also reaches the dashboard and electrical buttons near the steering wheel during rain. The roof seam, A-pillar wiring, interior rust staining, and all affected components remain available for inspection. How was safety put at risk? The A-pillar contains the SRS curtain airbag system, its wiring, and connectors that should never be exposed to moisture. Continuous water intrusion over many months can cause corrosion, increased resistance, short circuits, or damage to the airbag inflator/squib circuit, which may lead to unintended deployment or failure to deploy in a crash. Water reaching the dashboard controls and electrical switches could cause...
I’m writing to report a driver’s-door lock malfunction on my 2022 Toyota Tundra and to request goodwill assistance (reimbursement or no-charge repair). VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 38,575 miles Concern: The driver’s door does not lock/unlock using the key fob or interior switch. Manual locking still works. Other doors operate normally. Safety/security impact: The vehicle cannot be reliably secured and the condition may leave the vehicle vulnerable when parked. Troubleshooting performed: Verified other doors work; checked fuses; inspected door-to-body wiring boot; issue appears isolated to the driver-side door lock actuator/latch. Requested resolution: Goodwill coverage for diagnosis and repair (or reimbursement if I proceed with repair now), including parts and labor for the driver-door lock actuator/latch assembly. I’ve been satisfied with the vehicle and would appreciate Toyota’s help resolving this known-type issue just beyond the 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty. Please open a case and advise next steps. I can provide service records, videos, and...
The hood “open” sensor failed and indicated that my hood was not properly latched. The hood was latched properly. This resulted in a loud, distracting, and constant beeping that occurs anytime the vehicle is driven over 2 mph. This beeping has the potential to interfere with the driver and may result in an accident.
Front Active Spoiler Malfunction Last week I took the vehicle into Toyota due to this malfunction message on the vehicle. The spoiler failed and remained in the down position, unknowingly causing additional damage to the spoiler flap. It was determined that the motor assembly was not working and needed to be replaced. The motor, flap and related assemblies were replaced under warranty by the dealership on 07/17/2025. Within 2 days, the spoiler was stuck in the down position again, this time without the malfunction message on the vehicle. With this being stuck in the down position, it can potentially cause more damage to the vehicle being in the down position and lead to debris in the roadway depending on the damage. Toyota manual states to avoid driving the vehicle at high speeds when this issue is present. However, owners with this issue would not know there is an issue if...
On [XXX] I was traveling in my 2022 Trd Pro Tundra 5.5 hv. I was taking a left turn at a green light, when all of the sudden lights appeared on my dash saying “HYBRID SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, visit your dealer”. The car continued to function for approximately 1 minute, until the next light where it turned off. I tried to turn the vehicle back on, but it started to shake when it tried to start. At this point I was stuck at the light with traffic behind me, the engine had failed and the hybrid system had failed as well. I had to call 911 and request an officer to come assist, because I was blocking traffic. The vehicle had to pulled to a lot where I could unhook my boat that was in tow, and tow the truck to the Beaver Toyota dealership. After arriving at the dealer and...
I have a 2022 Tundra that I purchased new. My current mileage is 18,500 and although my truck is part of the engine replacement recall that is not what I am complaining about, what I am complaining about is my front passenger window got stuck halfway open/closed and it's been sitting at the dealership for 2 weeks with no parts available to fix it (the cable snapped and motor burned out). They did put me in a rental (tacoma) but they have no idea when the parts will be available to fix my window! This is my 4th Tundra and never had an issue like this with any of my others. I've already called Toyota and they have no idea when parts will be available either. They also said they have no parts to fix the temporary fuel line recall which has been out for almost 1 year.
The Digital Instrument Cluster continues to have freezing and lagging while in motion. The DTE (Distance To Empty) has reset itself in the midst of driving with no input from the driver. This has continued to happen for multiple months. Also, the Fuel Gauge has become stuck. Toyota did release a TSB (T-SB-0022-23) to "resolve" this issue but it continues to be an issue well into the 2024 model year. See attached pictures.

The Digital Instrument Cluster continues to have freezing issues as well as blacking out while driving. From our previous experiences, this is more than likely due to software. There was a Safety Recall (23TA02) that was suppose to address some of these issues, but they continue to exist and happen. Not to mention that the fuel level will reset to FULL even though the vehicle has been driven for most, if not all, of the usable fuel. This continues to happen on 2024 model year vehicles.
The Digital Rearview Mirror in our Platinum model has cut out since new. While the mirror can turn into a traditional mirror, it is random in nature and it can cause a hazard when it happens while driving at 70MPH and you have to switch it over. Toyota did try to resolve the issue by replacing the camera that is fed to the Digital Rearview Mirror, but the issue is not resolved. We are not awaiting a replacement mirror to come in. Without our Extended Warranty, the part along has a cost of $2,351.08 WITHOUT labor included. This is a known issue across multiple vehicles and Toyota has not yet issued anything to address the issue.

I did a software update when it pops up on my LCD screen. Then the screen turns black and multiple sensors came on. LTA sensor Brake fail sensor crash senor and more. I look online and found out it has a apple car play issue that cause sensor to malfunction. I don't know if my truck is safe to drive. Afraid the airbag will blow up because of the crash sensor popping up and the failure brake senor also popping up. I took it took my local Toyota Dealer Sandia Toyota they didn't even look at it and made false accusations and try to charge me when my truck at 20000 miles. I took it to another dealer to get it fix. The incident started 4/6/2024 and today is 4/23/24 and I still have no truck to drive. I paid 70k for it but more concern for other. Please look...
I was driving on Highway 98 at 76 miles an hour. A light came on the dash said engine is low on power. Then immediately the car said to get to the side of the road the engine had shut off. This was in the middle of a drive on the interstate. I almost got hit by a truck. With family in the car. I made an appointment at our local dealer for all the recalls and they canceled it last Friday due to their service force being sick. This almost got me and my son killed.
The passenger camera mount is falling out of these trucks on the highway ( multiple incidence’s from owners posts). Toyota corporate is down playing the occurrences and and saying repair is not covered due to cosmetics. It’s a safety feature and Toyota corporate closed my case
New 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid, 2000 miles, experienced a total system failure while driving, engine, Hybrid system, brake, parking brake etc. all systems failure causing a serious safety issue. Dealership called Toyota as diagnostics instructed them to. They want to replace computer but frankly they have no idea and are guessing making this vehicle completely unsafe as it can never be driven on a highway where another failure would likely cause injury or death. Dealers position is it's not their problem, it's Toyotas!!!
Hello, I have a new 2022 Toyota Tundra 2 WD, body type D CAB, Grade PLT, transmission 10AT, Engine 6-CYL with 5786 miles. I was at work ready to leave and when I turned on the ignition by pressing the button and the vehicle didn’t respond, never engine turn on. A few warnings started to showing up in the dashboard like Pre collision system malfunctioning, Parking break malfunctioning, Check Engine light, Secondary Collision break system malfunctioning. After 2 hours waiting the towing services took vehicle to dealer and tomorrow 12 / 10 / 2022 will be inspected by the dealer at Doral.
The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the front view camera had failed on numerous occasions which resulted in several warning lights appearing on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle would come to an abrupt stop while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on numerous occasions and on the fourth visit, the front view camera was replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that the tailgate would open inadvertently, all four windows would roll down independently and he would receive a notification on the phone about the failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
While driving during rush hour on a 7 lane roadway (600 block South FM 157, Euless, Tarrant County, Texas 76040) on 07/19/2022 the vehicle's engine turned off. Engine and power steering were inoperable, causing me to be stuck in the left lane of traffic. Numerous warning lights and messages appeared. Truck would attempt to start, but would not. I am a police officer in Euless, Texas and called our wrecker service and police department to provide traffic control until the vehicle could be towed from the roadway. I was nearly struck by several vehicles while waiting for assistance. Toyota was contacted and their wrecker arrived approx. 2 hours later at the Euless Police Dept. to pick up my vehicle and tow it to Toyota of Denton (TX). Toyota of Denton has the truck, claiming an "ECU" computer failure. On 07/28/2022 the service department advised the vehicle was repaired and ready...
I could only select a certain amount of descriptions. 2021 tacoma had issues of a vibration in the left front or right front wheel/suspension and I have the same feeling in the 2022 tundra, (2) airflow shutters code with engine light came on, (apparently they fixed it or reset the system) (3) brakes starting to squeak at 9k/10k miles (4) transmission slipping at 9k/10k miles (5) inop reverse camera and screen goes blank or white out for good period of time (6) heat from outside temperature throws codes for collision/brake codes light come on possibly turning them off (7) automatic emergency braking sensors or radar tech brakes hard at stoplights when a car is in front of me when green light is on to go, is too sensitive and it slams on the brakes jerking my neck/head forward and other passengers in vehicle not including the people behind me, slamming...
