No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the steering sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. I have the same issue described in a recall notice for my year make and model. My EPS light is coming on and I'm losing power to the vehicle. My VIN was not included in the recall. Steering: Electric power assist system Recall date 2015-03-12 Recall no.15V144000. This is very concerning as it could cause an accident resulting in injuries or death. I would like to have my vehicle checked for the recall.
Intermittent EPS warning light illuminates during highway driving with steering wheel lock-up subsequently followed by a reset of certain electrically powered items associated with but not necessarily limited to the following systems: 1. Stability Control System warning indication 2. TPMS light 3. Radio power cycles 4. Check engine light. After turning the car off and then back on again these issues clear initially, but will intermittently happen at random durations of time anywhere from an additional 1 to 3 hours of driving. I've been discussing with Toyota Customer Service, who has known issues with the 2015 Toyota Camry under NHTSA Campaign ID: 15V144000, but they are trying to tell me that it only applies to V6 and Hybrid 2015 Camry's. To the esteemed officials of the US Department of Transportation, My name is [XXX] and I am the owner of a 2015 Toyota Camry SE. I recently had my car repaired for a completely separate issue and while I addressed a problem with the steering, my mechanic made me aware of a 2015 recall for the Electrical Power Steering electronic control unit. I was provided with information regarding it. While my VIN number was not listed as an automobile affected by this issue, it is evident that this is what's occurring. My days have been spent on the phone with the manufacturer and was told numerous times that my VIN number was not identified in said recall. As a result, I was told not to drive my car due to it being a safety concern, meaning I could lose overall control of the car, and I am now lacking transportation....

The vehicle was taken to a transmission specialist where the contact was informed that the electrical had failed and the EPS and ECU needed to be replaced. The steering is loose and rattles. Difficulty with car control over 40 mph. Mechanic said they didn't see a safety issue but there is a broken part in the steering mechanism. No warning lights.
Over this past year my power steering light flickered on and off randomly and my radio/lights will turn off completely while driving. Over the last 30 days it has been difficult to turn my car , especially in slow or tight turns and the car make a loud humming/grinding sound in turns.
The car start having a small sound like something is loose, and over time the sound is more aggressive Steering column problem was been confirmed by a independent service center And the call was made to one of the Toyota centers asking for any recalls for that problem the car is having , and a prize for the part, they give the information that lately they already repair a hundred cars with the same problem !! When the battery voltage is low, the power steering is loose. It becomes difficult to steer.

When traveling down the road, the car veers to the left and I must keep turning the steering wheel to the right to correct the pulling. Usually happens when the engine is cold, but is intermittent. Happens two-three time per month. I once brought to dealer while happening, but they found no issues. They kept the vehicle overnight but couldn’t repeat the problem. A week later it started pulling to the left again. I asked dealer if others had the same problem, they knew of none.

The steering wheel veers hard to the right and is very loose, uncontrollable, and inconsistent. In a situation that would require rapid response, this malfunction would make it dangerous because you lose the precise and responsive steering functions necessary to maneuver accurately. This has happened about six different times and seems random. It will disappear when I turn off the car. The vehicle has not been inspected for the problem. There were no warning lamps or other indicators.

RECENTLY WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A SOFT STEERING RESPONSE, AND THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY VEERS TO THE RIGHT (AT ANY SPEED). NORMAL STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STEERING GOES SOFT AND VEERS TO THE RIGHT. CHECKED AIR PRESSURE REPORTING NORMAL. WOULD HAPPEN INTERMITTENT DURING THE FORTY MINUTE DRIVE. THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE.

PLEASE RECALL MY CAR. IT'S GOT 49,000 MILES AND 2015 CAMRY. THIS IS OVER A 175 COMPLAINTS FOR THIS STEERING PROBLEM. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR TOYOTA TO CHECK IT AGAIN. IT'S OBVIOUS SOUND NOW. WHILE IN MOTION, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY TURNS TO THE LEFT.
AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TO EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT. DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND MOTOR TESTED FINE. WOUND UP REPLACING THE CAR'S BATTERY AND THAT CORRECTED THE ISSUE. THE BATTERY LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED, AND THE BATTERY TESTED WITHIN SPECS BUT WAS ON THE LOW END OF ACCEPTABLE. APPARENTLY IF THE BATTERY IS LOW, BUT STILL WITHIN SPECS, IT CAN AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ELECTRIC STEERING MOTOR AND OR SENSOR AND RESULT IN PULLING IN ONE DIRECTION OR THE OTHER.
WHEN DRIVING TO WORK ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR DEPLOYED BY ITS SELF AND WOULD NOT STOP THE STEERING WHEEL IS SO LOOSE AND I HAVE NO CONTROLL

WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, SOMETIMES THE CAR WOULD EITHER VEER TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT AND YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL. YOU HAVE TO STOP THE CAR TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND THEN START DRIVING AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT WILL ALSO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN OR NOT ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN EVEN IF YOU ARE CONTROLLING THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR DOES WHAT IT WANTS. THIS IS VERY SCARY BECAUSE ONE TIME WE ALMOST HIT A CURB WITH THE TIRES BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T CONTROL THE CAR IT WAS GOING WHERE I WANTED TO. THE TIRES WERE OUT EXTREMELY FAST I NEVER HAVE TO PAY FOR NEW TIRES BECAUSE THEY WEAR OUT WAY BEFORE THE WARRANTY THERE LIKE BALD WITH IN LIKE A COUPLE MONTHS SOMETIMES EVEN TO JUST TWO MONTHS AND THEY'RE BALD AND THE ALIGNMENT SPINE I'VE HAD IT...
WHILE DRIVING UNDER 30 MPH THE STEERING PULLS HARD TO THE LEFT, DIFFICULT TO KEEP STRAIGHT AND IN THE LANE. STEERING FELT LIGHT AND SLOPPY, LIKE A LOW TIRE OR STEERING GEAR ISSUE, VERY DANGEROUS. FASTER SPEEDS NOT AS BAD. TOWED TO DEALER, DIAGNOSED AS A "LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY". CAR STARTED AS USUAL WITH NO WARNING OF INDICATIONS OF A PROBLEM AND NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING LIGHT BUT IT NEVER CAME ON. THE MANUAL SAYS IT MAY COME ON. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN THE STEERING ACTS UP WITHOUT ANY OTHER WARNINGS. THIS IS PROBABLY A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AND NOT ISOLATED TO JUST MY CAR, ANY TOYOTA WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING.
CAR PULLS EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. WHEN MAKING A TURN STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN. THE CAR JUST KEEPS TURNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON VERY LOW SPEEDS OR SPEEDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SENSOR PROBLEM, ALTERNATOR PROBLEM OR SOMETHING INVOLVING THE TOW BAR OR RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY.
