I am submitting this complaint to escalate a safety-related concern involving premature and abnormal tire wear on my Tesla Model Y, which has not been adequately addressed by Tesla. I purchased my Tesla Model Y in [Dec, 2023]. Within less than one year of normal driving, all four tires wore out significantly and required full replacement on 08/30/2024. The vehicle has been operated under normal city and highway conditions, and Tesla-recommended tire pressure was maintained consistently. This level of tire wear is well below reasonable tire life expectations and raises safety concerns, including reduced traction, increased stopping distance, and the risk of tire failure. After replacing the prematurely worn tires at my own expense, I reported the issue to Tesla Service and requested that the vehicle be inspected to determine whether alignment, camber, or suspension issues contributed to the abnormal wear. Tesla indicated that an evaluation would only be performed...
Goodyear 255/40R20 tire failed at the inner seam.
P 255/45 R19 Tire blew up after few miles of driving.
My car has less than 9000 miles on it, when I had a tire burst on [XXX] California heading south around exit [XXX]. I called Prirellei and they told me that they will not talk directly with me and I need to ask Tesla to contact them. The tire replaced by Tesla. I asked them to contact with manufacturer of the tire, as Tesla is not covering the warranty. The Manufacturer mention to Tesla to fill the inspection forms and they will pick up the tire, inspect and reimburse for it. I spent more than 2 hours back and forth with these two. Now Prirellei tells me that Tesla needs to ship the tire to their facility and Tesla is not willing to do that. 255/45 R10 104 V M+S INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My five-month new Tesla Model Y tire blowout without any alert before it happened. The tire is original Pirelli Scorpion 255 / 45 / R19. Last week while I was driving at around 70 mph on a three-lane freeway. All of a sudden, I felt someone is dragging my wheels to the left. I was totally astonished. My first reaction was to hold my wheels. Within a few seconds I was totally out of control and zigzagging lanes a couple of times before I finally slowed down and pulled my car over to the shoulder. I was in the middle lane and fortunately there’s no cars on my sides at that particular moment. With that speed and that short period, I couldn’t avoid to bump on others if there’s any nearby. I was lucky that it didn’t happen a little earlier on a bridge or a little late when I...
While driving in second lane from Left on I-90 at approximately 60 MPH an indication of 'tire pressure low - Pull the car over' was observed on the screen. Car was pulled over and it was noticed that driver side rear tire was blown. It was separated at the wall. Tire pressure was per the recommendation from manufacturer as there was no deviation indication prior to the incident. After driving on same section of the road for at least two times no potholes were observed as the section of the I-90 around that area appears to be relatively recently laid. The tire was inspected at home after the incident and there was no FOD found in tire. As a first impression it appears to have failed at the tire wall. Expectation is that after failure the tire wall should be able to sustain the vehicle weight and operation of vehicle...
