I have a clunk to when coming to a stop, the transmission is down shifting, and just before it comes to a complete stop, the truck has a clunk that is felt through the vehicle and heard. at times while stopped the vehicle will lurch forward as though you have been hit from behind. The truck has been back to the dealership several times for this problem, two different dealerships because the first one gave up and was suggested to take it to another dealership per Ram. The truck has been shut down completely two time to put in relearn mode, three transmission replacements, four valve body replacements, and they wanted to put a fourth transmission in the truck, but the mechanic said he doubts thats the problem to Ram, and so now they want to say that its operating as design, Ram asked me to take it to a...
After the y43 recall that Dodge did on 2022 Cummins Ram vehicles I have had four issues. The first one being the recall itself having sensors stuck while replacing, the second being the particulate filter sensor, third being DPF pressure sensor, and fourth being the maf sensor. During my most recent visit of getting the math sensor replaced I was not given any reason to why this was being replaced when they said everything seem to be within parameters. The dealership had stayed in one talking to the TA or tech advisor that they wanted to try this to see if it fixed the issue. I am now back again at the dealership just days later after the dealership having my truck for 2 weeks for the same issue. This all stems from the y43 recall and I've only had issues since. I've asked for specific answers to specific questions...
I bought my 2022 Ram 2500 brand new as a factory order. It is currently in the shop at Ron Lewis Ram in Cranberry Twp, PA to get a rear window water leak diagnosed. The dealer has told me that the rear windows frame is cracked in multiple places and wont be covered by my 8 year/125,000 mile max care warranty. I told them that it should be covered since its apparently a factory defect that caused the issue. They informed me that since I am at 55,000 miles, Ram wont pay to repair the issue, that I had until 36,000 miles to have this issue and have it repaired. Through the power of Google search, I was able to find that countless Ram 1500 trucks have had this identical issue and a TSB exists for it. The TSB for the Ram 1500 (23-098-23 Rev A) states that it was...
We own a RAM 2500 truck with an Integrate Brake Controller that is used to activate the trailer brakes on our 10,000+ lb 5th wheel RV. On our last rv trip, the Brake Controller test was not producing the necessary braking function on the trailer (putting more stress upon the trucks braking system). We became acutely aware of this as we attempted to stop on a downhill grade (highway exit ramp) where the traffic control switched to Red. We were barely able to stop in time, which had not happed in the past. When we arrived home, we did research and decided to switch the RV brakes from Drum to Disc brakes based upon research and our belief that the brakes were simply not sufficient for the RV Trailer. We had an RV shop install a brand new disc brake (electric/hydraulic) brake system. When we went to pick up the...
Vehicle has continuous ongoing issues since day of purchase with big screen radio display. System randomly changes screens and drops connection with source over and over again while vehicle is in operation. This is also affecting the rear parking assist sensor system making it work randomly at times and give false triggers or sometimes no triggers when collision is about to happen. The random screen changes are an EXTREME distraction while driving because the screen is extremely large in the center stack and when the image is randomly changing in your peripheral vision it draws driver's attention off the road. These connection issues also affect audio sources and make it necessary for the driver to interact with touch screen a ridiculous number of times per short drive further distracting the driver. There has been ongoing issues with this vehicle since the day I purchased it new. Multiple attempts by multiple...
The telematics display / unit displays errors and will freeze. If the driver has adjusted the volume, it may not work. They may try to do this several times not realizing that the radio is lagging. The volume will quickly ramp several moments later and could surprise a driver and cause loss of control. In addition, the on-screen navigation screen can freeze up and the applications appear to resize and freeze. It's possible that somebody may make an unsafe maneuver as a result of the delay or inconsistent presentation of direction. The problem has been seen three times at my local Ram dealership. They have been unable to remediate the issue. There are no prior warnings to the issue happening and no direct way to reproduce them or see if it will happen again. It has been happening on my vehicle since approximately February of 2022.
Rear backup camera display frequently failed for brief periods of time. Failure was unpredictable. I backed into low post hitting corner of rear bumper on passenger side during such a display failure. This resulted in major damage to the rear bumper.
The transmission down shifts by itself while driving down the road . You have to stop an change the gears to park then start again.I has happened 3 or 4 times .most of the time when you stop at a light or stop sign and take off when it drops to a lower gear it makes a sudden jerk. Some times tyhe transmission slams in to gear rather hard, I am going to be out of warranty if some one does not fix this problem. It has 12,276.7 miles on it as of right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don,t drive it much but it is going to blow the engine up or the tramission.
The TPMS system has been in a failure state a total of three times so far. The error message has cleared itself after a random amount of time.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (as mandated by NHTSA) fails to function properly. The system can be inspected upon request by the NHTSA because the local dealerships cannot determine the problem and refuse to contact the manufacture. Operating vehicles with over/under inflated ties causes numerous driving difficulties as well as premature and unnecessary wear on the tires. If it wasn't a concern the NHTSA wouldn't have mandated TPMS. Dealership refuses to acknowledge there is a problem. They just inflate the tires to the manufacturer recommendation and say its fixed. 2-3 days later the system tells me I have low tires. When I Check my tires with a Digital Gauge the tire pressure is correct. Problem started 10 months after purchasing this vehicle new in Jan 2022. After confirming with the dealership the installation of aftermarket Tires/Wheels would NOT void my warranty, I had the Dealer installed a set of aftermarket...
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Tailgate came open on several occasions How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This could have caused items in the truck bed to fall out and strike other automobiles Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I took the car to the dealer and they stated they had "adjusted and tested" said it is good Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no

Recall inspection of tailgate was performed by Pohanka RAM of Salisbury one month ago (visual inspection). Truck was deemed fine and recall ticket closed. While driving yesterday, the tailgate opened and truck bed contents fell out. Fortunately, vehicle behind swerved and second vehicle behind stopped and blocked roadway and assisted with retrieving contents that fell out.
While driving at 25mph in 4H, I heard what sounded like television static instead of the music I'd been playing with Carplay. Moments later my dashboard indicators flashed wildly and randomly. Within a few seconds, smoke was billowing out of the hood and fire was visible in the engine bay. The entire vehicle eventually burned down.
I was notified of the Particulate Matter (PM) Sensor not being installed in the exhaust aftertreatment system of my vehicle on a post delivery survey I received. The dealership's service department has no idea about this sensor not being installed by the factory, and the response from the letter stated there would be a recall soon to have the PM sensor installed, but that has not happened over a year later. The ECU will need an update once the sensor is installed, which would allow the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) gauge to function. This poses a risk to unknown regeneration occurrences, which could lead to a fire if the vehicle is parked next to dry grass or other flammable material. It also poses a significant risk for exhaust system emissions component failure in the future. The sensors and software update need to be completed as soon as possible.
Air sounds ( windows not sealing up tight) from rear windows.
Brand new Ram 2500 Diesel caught fire after about 1100 miles. Best I can tell it started around the alternator. Made a low “whirring” or “humming” noise during a few short drives just prior to the event that had not happened before. I was just parking when I noticed smoke coming from under the hood and opened it up to find a small fire involving the alternator and extinguished it with a fire extinguisher. The fire department came out and ensured it was extinguished and then a fire investigator came out and conducted an investigation. Took three days to get the dealership to accept the truck being towed back so it can be investigated by manufacturer.
I recently purchased a 2022 Ram 2500 equipped with the u-connect 5 system and the 12 inch display screen. The 12 inch screen controls all radio, navigation, phone and climate functions. After driving the truck for an extended period of time, the 12 inch screen will lock up and all functions are lost. I was told by the dealer to "reset" the display by pressing the volume and tuning buttons simultaneously, and after that to do a "hard reset" through the radio controls. This does correct the problem, but it will eventually lock up again. The dealer advised me they must be able to recreate the problem to diagnose it. They also advised due to the extended drive time for the problem to occur, they would probably not be able to recreate the situation. I have contacted Ram and u-connect about the issue, and they too advise the dealer must...
The manufacturer has failed to remedy the situation in a timely manner. As shown in this complaint forum, the recall was issued March 10. I did not take delivery until March 24 with no mention of the recall. I received the notice in the mail on April 4. The dealer says April 14 before I can get in for a 10 minute software update! So, now it's my problem! I can sit and stare at my new $75,000 truck, or I can choose to drive an unsafe vehicle. No choice when it comes time for the update, I have a 200 mile, one way drive to get to the dealer. The manufacturer and the dealer were well aware of this problem BEFORE they took my money and sent me down the road in an unsafe vehicle. I think that is criminal. Everyone is treating this as a software "glitch". For...
After winter snow 3 inches when electric deployed running boards were deployed to enter vehicle when stepping on to the running board ir was found to be covered is black ice. This caused loss of traction and slipping. No injuries occurred but were very likely if not for some luck. The current design allows for melting snow to drip down rhe doors and freeze on the running boards that are recessed under the truck.
