The contact owns a 2024 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving on the expressway at 60 MPH, the battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle then lost motive power while stopped at a stoplight. The vehicle was towed to the side of the roadway by the Police. The vehicle was then towed to the local dealer, who determined there was a failure with the 48-Volt E-Torque battery. The vehicle was restarted and was driven for a month. There were no diagnostic codes retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
As I was about to pull into my driveway my accelerator did not respond to braking I was going very slow about to make a left turn , less than 10mph Just As I started the left turn the wheel became unresponsive and the accelerator did not deccelerate At the same time my control panel seemed to glitch/flash I put both feet on the brake and stood on it as the truck continued forward until it struck the mailbox The truck stopped at that point but I could still hear the rear wheels turning on the road until I put it into park

The contact released the parking brake and proceeded to drive normally. Soon after the failure, the contact was notified of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for service; however, upon the return of the vehicle, there were 11 fault codes on the instrument panel. My vehicle shut down as I was in drive. Engine was shut off and it engaged the emergency parking brake.
The auto shutoff is working intermittently. Also, the vehicle sometimes shutsdown and won’t restart without putting it in park, then pressing the ignition. Also, the touchscreen works intermittently

Two weeks later: Battery dead again; AAA jump-started. Vacation trip: Battery failed 3 more times, requiring jumps. Cross-country trip (MD → Vegas → Utah → Missouri): Multiple battery failures. Observed truck’s interior lights cycling on/off overnight. Diagnostic scan revealed 40 electrical codes. Chicago Dodge Dealer (Oct 2025): Technicians replicated issue and confirmed electrical faults. Chrysler refused to authorize parts, claiming 12V battery at fault. Vehicle has been at dealer over one month. Consumer threaten to be charged for diagnostics, technician time, and rental car. The 2024 Ram 1500 3.6L V6 E-Torque engine stalls at low speeds. Without warning the engine shuts off and the emergency brake automatically engages, when the truck comes to a stop it shifts into park, and I have to restart the truck. Fortunately this has only happened in parking lots at speeds of around 5mph. This has happened twice so far. The battery voltage dropped from 13.8 volts to 12.2 volts during both stall events. The truck is 1 year old with 15,324 miles on it.
The vehicle has been in the shop for a multiple cylinder misfire 5 times now. RAM has been unable to repair the vehicle. This poses a potential safety issue because it could happen while I am driving on the road and potentially cause an accident.
the vehicle randomly stalls, causing it to through it in park regardless of speed and puts on the parking brake causing a increased risk of an accident. The battery light then comes on. It has been in the shop 5 times for the same problem. This last time was the worst of them all. After restarting it on the way to the dealer it started shutting down the radio, then the ac, and then in middle of a sharp turn it shut of the power steering. Truck has auto start/stop for fuel efficiency. It automatically engages on startup. Truck is prone to sudden unexpected acceleration when it is engaged. Has almost caused 3 wrecks with my truck. Dealership says they know about the problem and that I should just turn it off everytime I get in the truck. This will kill somebody some day. I forgot to turn it off today and it almost caused me to rear-end another vehicle while at a stoplight.
MGU (Motor-Generator Unit) is a 48-volt belt-driven motor is malfunctioning. I reported the incident multiple times and been told that MGU part number 68623194AB has been on back ordered for months. They have tried to buy the part from other dealers and they won't sell because it's become an issue. I almost got into an accident when the car completly sputtered and shutoff while driving. Happening to my wife today. Put her life at risk. This needs to be address and corrected before someone gets hurt.
About 2 weeks ago started hearing what sounded like a earing going bearing from under the hood on driver side. I took it to the dealership yesterday, told them im pretty sure bearing going out on MGU. The dealership called me about hour and half later, the MGU and belts tensioners failed. They have no clue when parts will be in to fix under warr. I must be one of the lucky ones and caught the problem before major problems started.
I was pulling out of a gas station onto the main road and the truck started shaking and died, parking brake came on and the battery right came on….1st incident Second incident I was baking out of a parking space and the same thing happened, truck started shaking and died, parking brake came on and the battery light lit up on the dash…. Dealership told me they couldn’t do anything about it because it didn’t do it while they had it…. Very dangerous issue, I’ve done a lot of research and all leads back to auto/ stop feature and etorque generator… My truck only has 11,000 miles on it… Please look into this, I have small kids and don’t want them harmed because of a malfunction from my truck… Thank you..

The contact stated that while driving with his family at approximately 70 MPH, several unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power and came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway. Additionally, the hazards lights failed to engage as needed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer informed the contact that the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,500.
The truck died had to jump it. I was driving it and it stopped itself went into park automatically. it turned on the parking brake. and then died. Took several minutes to start. Now the truck on first start up and first shift into gear there is a delay and no power to the drive train then has I’m hitting the gas it accelerates very quickly
During normal driving conditions the vehicles air conditioning system and interaction pane malfunctions. The issue has occurred twice during ownership. First occurrence was after going over a speed-bump at approximately 1-5 mph. The second occurrence was when coming to stop to make a turn. In both occurrences, the air conditioner was set enabled and coldest, and fan speed was set to 2-3. During the first occurrence (March 15th, 2024 at 4:28 PM EST), the fan speed self-raised to 7; internal circulation was likely already enabled. The Front and Rear defrosters turned themselves on, and temperature self-raised to mid-warm to hot. Attempting to lower the temperature, fan-speed, and attempts to disable defrosters immediately fail. The visual indicator shows its being lowered or disabled, but immediately re-enables or raises. For reference, there are only 4,780 miles on my vehicle. I was driving 20mph when my 2024 Ram Tradesman dash lit up "Shift to P to Start". Checked my gear and it said I was still in drive? I slowed down to park, and then it said "Press Break and Push Button to Start". Again, still driving (slowly luckily). I began to slow the vehicle to 8mph and the whole vehicle stalled and the dash read "Shifter Autocorrect Engaged" and it literally THREW my vehicle into park and engaged the E-Break. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle any longer. There are MULTIPLE instances with models as old as 2018 and as new as 2024 that this is happening. And not just at slow speeds. The vehicles main 12inch information screen goes blank and will not turn on until about 45 minutes after the vehicle has been running when the information is black no safety features work and the dash reads no key detected in the vehicle while the key is inside
While in stop and go traffic my foot was easing off of brake to role forward. The vehicle began a rapid acceleration. I was able to for the brake pedal down but rear tires began spinning and rpm shot up. Applied left foot on brake pedal and with all my strength pressed brake. The vehicle moved forward almost impacting car in front. I was able to angle vehicle while braking without collision. The rear tires were spinning and smoking while occurring. Total event lasted a couple seconds but seemed like eternity. No damage but very concerned and wary of vehicle operation. Believe related to the etorque system! If I was in school zone may have resulted in catastrophic consequences and loss of life. Needs immediate attention! Vehicle has been recovered by ram dealership for testing.
The car was purchased in Jan 16. In Jan 19 the car stopped, with complete no response when trying start. The dashboard was off and looks like no power at all. Try jumping the car and check the battery found that the battery was completely charged. The car was towed to a authorized dealership…and after 5 days no response from the dealer yet.
Bought vehicle brand new with roughly 30 miles. Put less than 20 more on it and the service ABS light/service stability control system/4wd system unavailable lights came on the vehicle. Used my scanner, cleared codes and light went off. After about 12 more miles, they all came back on.
Took delivery of new truck (2024 Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie) on September 25th. On September 26th, while backing into a parking space, the engine cut off and multiple error lights illuminated (including check engine light). I was able to re-start the vehicle and back into the space. Dealer investigated, determined that a fuse was loose. On October 14th, while pulling into a shopping center road, the engine shut off and the same series of error lights, including the check engine light, illuminated. When the engine cut off (including the first time) power steering is lost, and the vehicle becomes very difficult to steer. If I had been pulling into a main road, I would have been at very significant risk of collision with any oncoming vehicles.
