Water leaked into their vehicle into my Ram 1500 cabin. Water leaks from the third brake light above the rear window into the cabin. It caused the Radiofrequency hub to short circuit, and my vehicle wouldn't turn on; it killed my battery, and when I replaced my battery, it automatically drained. Also an issue in the cab is the following: bad odors, smells, and mildew. I have children and not knowing that there is mildew growing in my vehicle is a major health concern.

The truck went on fire after 15 min parking on [XXX]. Dodge did an initial inspection and could find nothing. I am glad we moved out of the vehicle with my pregnant wife and a 2-year-old toddler. I seriously feel there is some issue with the 2021 RAM 1500 TRX. I lost the truck as it went into flames to ashes. Please do the needful. Kind Regards, [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2021 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control (ESC)); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the electronic stability control, the anti-lock braking system (ABS), the anti-slip control, and the check engine warning lights were illuminated. The messages "Service Vehicle" and "4-wheel Drive Failure" were displayed. The front wheels of the vehicle seized, causing the vehicle to start pulling to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed. The dealer replaced the wheel speed sensor; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who confirmed that the failure was related to the recall. The contact stated that...

I have experienced the engine surging while driving 2 times in the last 3 months. 10/18/2024. The RPMs slowly increase regardless of taking my foot off the gas pedal, slowing, or coming to a stop. The engine remains to rev. It causes me to have an extremely hard time keeping a maintained speed and gets difficult to slow down or slow to a stop. The truck was not on Cruise control, it was in 2-wheel drive, and the issue started right as I took off. The engine can be heard revving and trying to accelerate even in an attempt to try neutral with the foot off the gas to resolve the issue. I ensure I do not have my foot on the gas pedal and have to push my brake to the ground to stop. I have called our dealership who reports they are unaware of the issue I describe....

There was a software problem with the e-torque system of my truck. From what the dealership stated it was over charging my 12v battery under the hood. It ultimately made my 12v vehicle battery fail. upon this my truck has the start stop feature multiple times at random intervals at stop lights when the start stop was activated my truck would not restart with out a jump pack. This left me in a live traffic lane in at a stop light multiple times. I can upload the dealer repair sheet if requested

Several times I’ve been backing up and for no reason the truck jerks to a stop and some kind of alarm or buzzer goes off and it jerks to a complete stop even when I’m not close to anything.
#11604606 |
My truck has shut down unexpectedly, on 2 separate occasions, as I was driving at slow speeds. I then had to come to a complete stop and restart it.

>Refer to investigation PE24018. For reference recall 23V-265 was performed on this truck. >This incident was before the recall work, and it was mentioned to my dealership. There have been no additional incidents. >Driving on a rural road at about 30mph. I slammed on breaks to avoid contact with animal. My vehicle went into park, emergency break activated, and engine turned off. I was able to restart vehicle. >There were no safety issues at the time >I don't have any information about warning lamps or messages other than noting my emergency break was engaged.

I was driving on the highway when my vehicle suddenly lost power and simultaneously the service throttle control and service electronic stability control messages came up as well as the check engine light came on. This also happened last November and the dealer said they fixed the issue (high pressure fuel pump) but it has now happened again. I was concerned for my safety as well as my passengers and others as we did not have adequate power to get up a hill. And the sudden slowing nearly caused an accident.
#11603818 |
In my 2021 RAM Ecodiesel, several times while on vacation pulling our trailer up steep grades with semi trucks all around a warning message came on saying “Warning Service Electronic stability Control.” Then, the engine immediately went into what seemed to be a “limp” mode with power severely cut. This posed a safety concern because I had to immediately look for a place to get off the highway because the vehicle was slowing down quickly. I found that when I turned the engine off, it took it out of the “limp” mode. I took it to the RAM dealer in Cortez, Colorado and they said they couldn’t duplicate the problem so just cleared the warning codes. When I got home, I took it to Cole Chrysler in San Luis Obispo and they said they installed software that solved the problem. I did not expect a charge for this, because I...

2nd report Had Timing cover replaced for a second time. Only has 17500 miles. It has started to leak again after 35 miles and has to go in for repair again. total of around 50 days in shop for just this issue. It seems to be a VERY common Problem and Ram needs to be held accountable for this

Rear window is leaking into truck came home from vacation and it rained while vehicle parked outside found both my key fob could not be detected and UCONNECT would not respond to commands thru phone. Vehicle totally inoperable could not start. Had towed to Shivley Motors where it currently sits. Found out that water leak could ruin the rf module and electrical componets behind rear seat to include not limited to airbag, carpet, interior. Car totally inoperable no lights signals all it does is alarm goes off. Went to dealer to lift rear seats and found my black carpet to be white with mold which is health hazard being i have allergies to certain mold so now my car is a health risk to myself and my child whom has a heart condition. Have contacted RAM CARES and got them involved but waiting as the dealer has not specified a...

A recall, software flash for pcm was done on 03/12/2024. 6857 miles i now have 6919 miles. On 2 occasions my truck did not immediately start. Yesterday was the second time of weird starting. After it started i moved it on my lawn and it died. Now it will not start all it does is send the dash lights and electronics crazy. I have checked all items Ram problem solvers asked, all check out. I think this recall messed up the system. I am waiting for service advisor that was involved with recall to get back with me.

On numerous occasions since January 2024, the truck would not start or unlock, shut down while driving, power steering would go out, start up by itself, produce warning messages with & without codes for no reason, and the start/stop button flicker. We would have to set off the car alarm to get it unlocked then would have to disconnect the battery to make it stop. Every time we took it to the dealership, the technicians could not get the problems to repeat, even when keeping it for 10+ days. Once we got it back, the problems would start again. After further research and talking with the dealership, others have had issues like ours after it has rained. Upon further inspection, we found a water leak at either the rear sliding window or the taillight at the window. There was water droplets and wet carpet under the backseat. The truck has...

Today I was driving on the freeway (Interstate 5) speed limit 70MPH in a rainstorm when my yellow check engine light came on and my truck began running roughly for about 3 minutes. The problem became worse and the engine finally shut off as I was approaching an off ramp. I was able to coast up the off ramp and pull off on the side of the road. I did see a message on my dash that read something like error with electronic throttle control and the check engine light remained on along with a red box with the electronic throttle control message. This is the first time this happened. Once stopped the truck would no longer start or run so I could reach a safer position. This was frightening to say the least. This is NOT an e torque Ram.

During cold rainy wether, water leaked in through rear sliding glass window and fried the BCM, which caused a complete shut down of all systems. I was not driving the vehicle at the time but if this had occurred while driving this could have ended in a catastrophic accident. In researching this issue, many ram vehicles have experienced this and/or similar issues including the vehicle stalling while in operation. When this issue occurred,, there were no warnings or prior indications. Additionally, water was found inside the passenger compartment. Also, the vehicle could not be manually placed in neutral so that it could be moved for towing. The tow service had to slide the vehicle onto tow trailer with sliders placed under the rear wheels. The was then vehicle towed to a FCA dealership.

Truck would not start at first. Finally got it started to go home. All my Dash lights were all lit up but truck was running fine. 2 miles down the road my truck shuts off mid drive about 40-45 mph. Scared me to death. Was able to pull into a church parking lot before brake engaged automatically. Would not start again under any circumstances. But truck had power to lights etc.

While driving (10-18mph), engine suddenly stalls (going from Run into ACC mode on the engine start/stop) and notifies me via dash warning that the vehicle must be put into park and continues to coast forward as if in neutral. I was able to pull over to the side of the road and turn the dial from drive into Park. After a few seconds, I press the engine start/stop button and the engine restarts and i turned the dial to Drive. This may be a problem with the eTorque.

On October 18, 2023, my son was driving the RAM 1500 on the Southern State. While changing lanes to exit, he advised the the engine turned off; was not able to break and hit another vehicle. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and would like this to be investigated by Chrysler. This could have caused my son's death.

On 11/23/23 my check engine light came on suddenly with the code P020E upon reviewing information online I determined there was a recall on my truck for the HPFP (Manufacturer Recall NumberZ96 NHTSA Recall Number22V-767). The following day the check engine light went away but I took the vehicle to a dealer in Florence South Carolina (Legacy Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM) to have the vehicle inspected before driving. They refused to look at the vehicle and told me they wouldn't look if the light was not on. They told me to drive with the vehicle. I was traveling for the holidays and continued home. When approaching home (Plymouth, MA) the check engine light along with two errors to service the electronic stability control and to service the electronic throttle control came on. I immediately stopped driving and then took the vehicle to the local dealer when they opened on Monday...

The vehicle occasionally shuts down when coming to a stop or slowing gradually. It shuts down the engine. I believe the parking brake is automatically set (not completely sure as the emphasis at that point is restarting the vehicle). I am sure the engine start knob must then be selected to Park and the brake pedal depressed to restart the engine. This situation has occurred at least 4 times since the vehicle was purchased 11/25/2020. I have reported it to a FCA Ram dealer who stated that nothing is apparently wrong. I feel it is a safety issue which should be investigated as it happens with no warning on citystreets and highways. The latest occurrence was on 11/21/3023, the other occasions were spaced apart 6-12 months.

My 2021 Ram 1500 has an exhaust leak that has been leaking since June when I took it to the dealership, and they told me about the leak. They told me it would take 17 weeks before they could order my parts. Now my dealership has told me 6 to 8 months for parts. The exhaust is leaking into the vehicle and making my family and I sick and they tell me they can do nothing because there are so many truck with the same problem that they can't get parts. I hope you can help me with this.

While driving at highway speeds, the engine has stopped running 3 times in the past 60 days. There is no indication on the instrument panel for any cause or signs of trouble. All other electrical items appear to be fine. After coming to a complete stop, the engine will restart immediately. This could possibly be a fuel pump issue or computer issue. I do not suspect the fuel itself as the gas tank was not near empty and the vehicle had been refueled more than once between the first and second occurrence of this problem. The second and third occurrence happened on the same day, during the same trip. Every time, I made a conscious act to look at the dashboard for any indication of the cause or any check engine light. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for service. Approximate mileage 33,000

While driving at any rate of speed the brakes have suddenly just locked resulting in the inability to move. When it locks up it takes a harsh fast jerk on everyone in the vehicle. Not only does this put my entire family at risk of potentially getting hit by other vehicles that could possibly lead to a fatality. The brakes also lock up while backing up for no reason which again jerks everyone in the vehicle. The engine shuts off randomly while moving also while slowing down or coming to a stop which puts everyone at risk. The Manufactures have many defects that are highly detrimental to families, Ram needs to recall these trucks as its putting everyday life in danger. A truck can be replaced however a loved one you can't. I barley drive mine not only due to the safety risk and defects but also because I had...
