FOUND OUT TODAY THAT MY 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER IS AFFECTED BY DEFECTIVE RADIATOR THAT IS CAUSING COOLANT TO MIX IN WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID THUS FATALLY DAMAGING TRANSMISSION. UNDERSTAND THAT THIS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR AND MODEL NISSAN. RADIATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1400.00 THAT NISSAN WON'T PAY FOR BECAUSE MILEAGE IS OVER 100,000 MILES. I DON'T KNOW YET IF TRANSMISSION IS DAMAGED. THIS IS A DEFECT THAT NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT AND THEY SHOULD REPLACE AT NO CHARGE NO MATTER WHAT THE MILEAGE IS. $6219.70 FOR A REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION BECAUSE I'M ~2000 MILES OUT OF THEIR RECENTLY "EXTENDED" WARRANTY. TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR/COOLING SYSTEM WERE RECOMMENDED TO BE REPLACED BY NISSAN TODAY BECAUSE OF CONTAMINATION OF TRANSMISSION FLUID BY A (KNOWN BUT NOT RECALLED) DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE. AT APPROXIMATELY 98,000K THE TRUCK BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE VIBRATION WITH OVERDRIVE ENGAGED. IT FELT LIKE DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS ALSO, THE TRUCK HAD NO HEAT WHEN IDLING. I TOOK IT TO A QUALIFIED LOCAL MECHANIC AND HAD THE RADIATOR FLUSHED. THAT CORRECTED THE HEAT ISSUE. IT WAS RECOMMENDED TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP TO LOOK AT THE ISSUE. I DRIVE THE TRUCK DAILY TO/FROM WORK AND TRAVEL WITH MY 3 DAUGHTERS TO AND FROM SCHOOL. MY NEXT OPPORTUNITY WAS ABOUT 6 WEEKS LATER AND I TOOK IT TO NISSAN. THERE WAS A RECENT CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND "AN EXTENSION WAS OFFERED...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE SLIP WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR COOLANT HOSE WAS LEAKING AND THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. AS A RESULT, BOTH COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS TRANSMISSION FLUID FOUND IN THE RADIATOR AND DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD COVER A PORTION OF THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,494. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT RADIATOR FLUID HAD LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION. SHE WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE RADIATOR AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD BOTH NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 123,000.

I HAD IT TOWED TO RELIABLE MECHANIC AND WAS NOTIFIED BY HIM THAT THERE WAS RADIATOR FLUID IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT THIS HAS BECOME A GROWING ISSUES WITH NISSAN BETWEEN 2005-2010 MODEL PATHFINDERS, XTERRAS,AND FRONTIERS. THIS IS THE THIRD NISSAN FRONTIER I HAVE OWNED AND I SING THE PRAISES OF NISSAN TO EVERYONE I KNOW, I AM SHOCKED TO SEE HOW MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED AND STILL NISSAN ACTS IRRESPONSIBLE AND REFUSES TO RECALL THIS ISSUE IT IS A $3800 REPAIR AND NISSAN KNOWS IT IS RAMPANT IN THESE MODELS. AT 98,000 MILES BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE SPORADIC VIBRATION WHEN DRIVING, WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ABOVE STATE ISSUE. I USE THE TRUCK TO COMMUTE WITH MY CHILDREN EVERYDAY ON THE INTERSTATE, WHILE I AM THANKFUL THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT STOPPED FUNCTIONING, IT HAS PUT US AT GREATER RISK THAN USUAL WITH A COMPROMISED TRANSMISSION. DISCOVERY OF AN APPARENTLY KNOWN ISSUE OF FAILED RADIATOR IN THIS VEHICLE THAT CONTAMINATES THE COOLANT AND TRANSMISSION FLUID RESULTING IN FAILED TRANSMISSION REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF IT AS WELL AS THE RADIATORS. SURPRISED AND EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED TO FIND THIS ISSUE HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE WHICH I PURCHASED NEW FROM THIS DEALER AND LOYALLY HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED AND MAINTAINED AT THE SAME PLACE OF PURCHASE. I PURCHASED MY 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER AT APPROX. 95K IN FEBRUARY. THE TEST DRIVES WERE FINE, THE CAR SOUNDED AND DROVE PERFECTLY FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS. IT RECENTLY BEGAN TO START SHIFTING ROUGHLY . THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM DID SOMETHING TO COVER UP THE ISSUE WHICH WAS OBVIOUSLY WHY THEY WERE TRYING TO SELL IT BEFORE 100K AND I GOT BURNED ON IT. I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM MARIETTA, GA AT TEAM NISSAN. SUDDENLY MY TRUCK APPEARED TO HAVE NO POWER; COULD NOT ACCELERATE UP TO TRAFFIC SPEED OR EFFECTIVELY GET ACROSS AN INTERSECTION. IT WAS SCARY AND DANGEROUS AS THIS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THE RADIATOR FAILED AND COOLANT WAS ALLOWED TO ENTER TRANSMISSION THUS ALSO CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. VEHICLE HAD EXCEEDED THE 80,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT ALSO FOUND OUT THAT WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED FROM THE ORIGINAL 36,000 MILE WARRANTY BECAUSE OF PROBLEMS. ONLY THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION WERE ISSUED THE 80,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT MY VEHICLE HAD 95,994 MILES THUS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE, AND REPAIR COST WOULD RUN $6,900.00. TOOK TO RADIATOR SHOP AND HE SAID RADIATOR WAS CRACKED AND FLUID FROM RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION WAS MIXING TOGETHER HAD RADIATOR REPLACED AND TOOK TRUCK TO NISSAN TO HAVE TRANSMISSION CHECK, THEY SAID TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED BY ANTIFREEZE AND IT HAS TO BE REPLACED. *TR

THE COMPUTER READ THAT THE SENSORS WERE BAD. I REPLACED ALL THE SENSORS MYSELF AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE THAT THIS IS A BIG ISSUE WITH FRONTIERS. ON 1 NOV 2001 I WAS COMING BACK FROM AJO AZ. WHEN MY ENGINE OVERHEATED AS I WAS TRYING TO PASS A VEHICLE. ABOUT EVEN WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AND I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WAS OVER HEATING. I LET OFF THE GAS AND STOPPED AS SOON AS I COULD AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED.AFTER STOPPING I DISCOVERED NO WATER IN RADIATOR.I FILLED IT FROM A 5 GALLON CAN OF WATER AND MADE IT TO A GAS STATION.THE MECHANIC ON DUTY TOLD ME THAT THE RADIATOR FAILED INTERNALLY AND THAT I HAD WATER AND ANTIFREEZE IN THE TRANSMISSION.MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT HE HAD SEVERAL PATHFINDERS AND A FEW FRONTIERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I GOT ON LINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH NISSANS HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT. I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 WHEN THE ENGINE EXHIBITED A DECREASE IN RPMS FOLLOWED BY THE STALLING OF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER THE FAILURE BUT THE RPM WERE STILL ABNORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
NISSAN HAS NOT STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT ONCE SO EVER. RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO GO OUT. NISSAN KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND DID NOT SEND OUT A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM AND NEVER DID TILL THIS DAY. ALTHOUGH THEY CHOOSE TO ON OTHER PROBLEMS. ITS A SAFTEY ISSUE AS WELL AND NISSAN DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE AT ALL. THEY WENT ON SELLING CARS LIKE NORMAL AND CHOOSE TO LEAVE THERE PAST CONSUMERS IN THE DUST. NOT WORKING WITH OR CARING ABOUT US. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO E REPLACED AS THE ANTIFREEZE MIXED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN FRONTIER. THE CONTACT WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE YET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A SHORT DISTANCE BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE IPDM BOARD WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE IPDM BOARD HIMSELF. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER, THE FAILURE BEGAN TO RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,500.
PURCHASED A 05 FRONTIER CC 4X4 TRUCK FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. 2 WEEKS I HAD THE TRUCK ROUGHLY THE 15 OF JULY, I HAD PUT A 30 TO 40 POUND STONE IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK WHICH HAS THE RHINO BED LINER, ROCK DENT IN THE RIBS OF THE BOX AND CHIPPED THE RHINO BED LINING. PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW RATTLING, THE REAR END SQUEAKING, AND THE REAR. I TOOK THE TRUCK IN AGAIN, THEY TOOK IT IN SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDOW AND THE REAR END SQUEAKING. TOOK TRUCK HOME AND WAS DOING THE SAME THING.
