THE INSIDE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE TO MY 2001 MAZDA TRIBUTE SNAPPED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE DRIVER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW. I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY FREQUENT OCCURRENCE, IN FACT, THE REPLACEMENT PART IS ON A NATIONWIDE BACKORDER DUE TO THE EXTENT OF THE POOR DESIGN. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT THE ORDER WILL NOT ARRIVE UNTIL SOMETIME BETWEEN 2 WEEKS AND 6 MONTHS. HE IS NOT SURE. *TR

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SHEERED OFF. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR THE PLASTIC HANDLE BROKE. THE ONLY WAY OF EXITING THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS TO ROLL DOWN THE POWER WINDOW AND OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE DEALER WAS ALERTED AND THE DOOR HANDLE WAS REPLACED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, AND HE FOUND THE DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AT THIS TIME. *AK
