My 2022 Kia EV6 developed a serious electrical/MCU malfunction on 10/19/2025 at approximately 64,300 miles. While driving, the vehicle began to stutter during acceleration, all driver-assistance and safety systems disabled (LKAS, collision avoidance, lane keeping), and the vehicle could not accelerate normally (topping out around ~60 mph when fully pressing the pedal). The Kia Connect app displayed fault codes MCU P0A4100 and LKAS C164286. The malfunction recurred immediately after a dealer visit on 10/20/2025. The vehicle has since been inspected by Huffines Kia in Corinth, Texas, but no confirmed diagnosis has been provided, nor have they notified me of dropping/reconnecting the HV battery. On 11/18/2025, a new fault code appeared: MCU P0C1700. This failure affects the high-voltage electronics/MCU and causes sudden loss of acceleration capability and complete disabling of active safety systems while the vehicle is in motion, placing me and other drivers at risk. The issue is reproducible, continues...

The ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) failed while the vehicle was charging at my home. It tripped the 60A circuit breaker for my EVSE circuit and now my EVSE is inoperable. The vehicle no longer charges via AC (Level 1 or Level 2) at any charging station. Attempting to charge the vehicle triggers a safety fault error on the EVSE indicating an electrical problem with the vehicle. Additionally, attempting to use the V2L (Vehicle to Load) adapter on the vehicle causes audible arcing sounds from the ICCU accompanied by a "Check Electrical System" message on the vehicle's display. These symptoms indicate a complete failure of the OBC (On-Board Charger) circuit inside of the ICCU. The arcing is most likely coming from a failed MOSFET. The ICCU has been recalled twice in this model, however it is clear that the software update "remedies" are not satisfactory. I had the most recent...

Prior to midnight on 9/25/2025 I stopped at a Sheetz in Stephen"s City , Va to charge my 2022 Kia EV6. Upon pulling into the charging area I discovered construction fencing around the area with the chargers removed. I then drove to the other side of the store and parked next to the building to take advantage of the lighting as I scanned my phone app for alternative chargers in the area. SUDDENLY, within the blink of an eye, my car lunged forward at MAXIMUM speed. It came to a sudden stop , prior to hitting the glass and brick wall of the building. I was stunned. My first reaction was to try to go into reverse to back away from the building and then I noticed people coming toward me. I rolled the window down and heard them ask if I was ok , if I needed help calling...

July 2023: Vehicle brought in for first ICCU recall/ICCU SW Upgrade May 2024: Vehicla brought in for second ICCU recall June 2024: repeated 12 volt battery failure, 12 volt battery replaced, Car was stuck in a parking lot and needed to be jumped. July 2024: ICCU Failure, resulting in ICCU replacement. This took place after 2 recalls. ICCU failure luckily happened in a safe location. December 2024: Receive Recall Notice for a continued ICCU defect February 2025: Vehicle brought in for third ICCU recal - this time after ICCU replacement. The Recall notice described the possibility that the ICCU could fail while driving, even at high speeds. Leaving the vehicle stuck with no power or even hazard lights.

The 12-volt battery has failed twice and was ultimately replaced. Additionally, the ICCU unit was replaced once. The vehicle has now returned to the shop for the same recurring issue, as the 12-volt battery either fails to hold a charge or is not charging properly. Most concerning, the vehicle stalled while in motion, creating a serious safety hazard, as it was not possible to activate the hazard lights, leaving occupants in a potentially dangerous situation.

Got error message "Check Electrical vehicle system" when I was driving on 06/03/2025. After driving few miles, then get other error message on dash - "Stop Vehicle and check power supply". After restarted the car, drove few miles and got the error message again. Luckily I got back home with my kids safely. When the tow truck came to take my car to dealership next morning 06/04/2025, the car started, but it died on the middle of the road when trying to drive up the tow truck. The tow truck had to drag my car up instead. If the car suddenly died in middle of highway on 6/3, it would be different story. After almost a week in the Kia shop, It was ICCU assembly and fuse issue on Kia Ev6 and they had to replace it on 06/07/2025 and the car was fixed and picked up on Monday 6/9/2025

I am reporting a failure of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) in my 2022 Kia EV6. The vehicle became inoperable within weeks of purchase and has remained at a Kia dealership for over six weeks. The failure caused the vehicle to suddenly lose power and become undriveable, which is a serious safety concern. This issue appears to be widespread among EV6 owners. Despite the issue being covered under warranty, Kia has not provided an acceptable resolution. I believe this failure presents a risk of sudden vehicle disablement and should be investigated for safety-related recall potential.

Attempts to charge with home level 2 charger were unsuccessful, both at home and at a public charger. Reduced the charging speed using the car’s settings without success. Dealer reports a failure of the ICCU requiring replacement. This is apparently the subject of a class action lawsuit.

ICCU FAILED. Warning that I needed to stop driving the car This happened while driving on an interstate highway. Car would move at 25mph max.
#11660751 |
My 2022 Kia EV6 has repeatedly shut off while parked and while in motion, placing myself, my [XXX] child, and other drivers at serious risk. The vehicle’s Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failed and was replaced, but the replacement ICCU also malfunctioned. This second failure caused a near-collision involving three vehicles. A Ford F-150 had to swerve off the road to avoid hitting me. The most recent incident occurred while dropping off my son, when the vehicle lost all power in traffic. Kia later confirmed that they could not guarantee this issue would not happen again. This statement came after I notified them of the near-accident and the ongoing shutdowns. Despite this, Kia has refused to buy back the vehicle or provide a safe resolution. The vehicle has been out of service for over 30 cumulative days and has undergone two ICCU replacements and one 12V battery replacement. Kia issued...

Once again, the ICCU on the car failed requiring intervention / towing. This is the second outage of the ICCU. This issue happened in early April 2025 (April 8th I believe). My car was parked at work. I entered my car after work and turned on the car. I heard a pop from the rear passenger side identical to the issue as it had happened last January (2024). Shortly thereafter, the check electrical system warning came on. I briefly attempted to drive car to move it to where would likely be an easier spot for the purposes of towing (one parking lot over that is not gated). During that brief drive (roughly 1/4 of a mile), the car immediately began issuing warnings requesting that I pull over and stop. I entered the nearby parking lot and parked the car where it was towed the next day to the dealership.

24V200 KIA recall is not being upheld by the manufacturer. they are only performing recall in a small subset of customers - hundreds if not thousands are being fobbed off (by JUST doing software updates) even when having to be towed in 4 or 5 times. In my case i have been towed 4 times. one of the times by power failed with little warning - the other 3 times it would not start in the morning - the car does not give many minutes/miles of wanring as recommended by NHTSA to allow driver to pull over safely. THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT CRASH - it is just a matter of time. in my case kia is refusing to replace ICCU even though my vehicel is covered by the recall and has lost power 4 times - this is a scandal.

ICCU failure, no time line for replacement Car at dealer for over a month

After charging vehicle using L2 charger, (max 7kw) vehicle threw two error messages on screen. 1) “check electrical system” & 2) “stop vehicle and check power supply” Using an OBDII reader, the car provided error code P1A9096. I also noticed the car stopped charging the 12V battery as the 12V state of charge was down to 22%. I towed it to the dealer and they are currently working on diagnosing the issue.

Regarding NHTSA Recall No. \/ MFR Recall No. : 24V-867 \/ SC327, I have contacted Kia America by email who is avoiding to take action in rectifying the SC327 defect. From March 11th to March 15th 2025 I have emailed Kia several times to address the issue of my Kia EV6 car, the lack of response from their side compels me to lodge a complaint with you. Please intervene in my case with Kia. Below is the latest correspondence from Kia.

I was leaving a parking space when I heard a pop in the right rear of the vehicle. I merged in to traffic and drove stop and go for about three blocks when a warnning message appeared on the dash saying that there was an electrical issue. I've been following this issue on various model specific forums so I was sure what had happened and knew that I had to get off the road quickly. I was able to find an open parking lot and immediately called for KIA roadside assistance. By the time the tow truck arrived all electrical systems were dead. It was towed to the dealer and the next day I was informed that diagnostics determined that the vehicle had a failed ICCU (Integrated Charge Control Unit). This vehicle has had the recalls that addressed this issue with software updates.

My wife was driving my vehicle and it alerted her that she needed to pull over while driving. She managed to get out of traffic but was stranded on the side of the road while waiting for a tow truck. I completed the recall SC327 and it was performed but still had an ICCU failure. Dealer has not repaired it and is waiting on a part but they say it is on back order and has not given me a timeline for repair.

ICCU failed for a second time in 18 months, and the car has been waiting at the dealership for the replacement ICCU to arrive for 4 weeks - as Kia says the part is backordered. The recalls (of which they are now on their third, I believe) were supposed to have addressed this issue and prevented ICCU failure. Car was backing out of the garage on the morning of January 30th when the dashboard began showing alerts - "Stop vehicle and check power supply". Had the vehicle towed to the dealership where ICCU failure was confirmed. As mentioned, this is the SECOND time the ICCU has failed in our Kia EV6 - it was replaced once before already in July of 2023. This tells me that the issue is either far more common than the reported 1% failure rate or that there's some connection between how one uses or charges...

Once the car was turned on, multiple electrical system warnings appeared. My battery was charged to 82%. Once brought to the Kia dealership, I was told that my ICCU needed to be replaced. My ICCU was already replaced once in 2023, so this is the second replacement. I had brought this car into the dealership on Oct. 11, 2024, for a maintenance check up, and this included software updates.

My EV6 lost power while driving on a busy street. It went into 'Turtle Mode' which allowed me to pull off onto a side road and then all power to the car went out and the car stopped on the side road. I was honked at a couple of times while trying to get off the busy street. The tow truck driver put a power pack on the car and shifted it into neutral and was able to move the car. The dealer diagnosed this as an ICCU failure. The part required is on national backorder with no delivery specified.

I took my 2022 Wind AWD EV6 into Bob Johnson Kia for the required SC327 recall service on Feb 17. I was informed that the service would not be performed because they were having too many problems with critical failures after performing the service on other cars. Specifically, they said they had 7 EV6s that died within weeks of performing the SC327 update, 4 of which were still in their back lot waiting for new ICCU assemblies. They recommended to wait until Kia sorted out the quality issues surrounding the SC327 update. This seems highly suspicious since it's a required recall service. I'm aware that Kia has a design problem with the ICCU and has mishandled service support from the beginning, but I need to understand my course of action and how you recommend I handle this situation.

I was about to drive to work and was still in the local area when suddenly a message popped up saying: "check electrical system" and "drive speed reduction", not allowing me to drive more than 10 mi/hr, but only about 30 seconds later a warning sound popped up and kept making noise. It was very dangerous for me. I had to pull over and call a tow truck via the Kia app (luckily the Kia app was still valid until 1/15/2025). At the time I reported, the car was at the dealer and there was no response from the dealer.

This is related to the NHTSA Recall Number24V867. We recently received this notice (a few weeks ago) and were planning to get it taken in. However, before we were able to do so it died with ZERO warning and simply wouldn't start. Had it towed to a dealer, who ignored that there is a recall, said the problem was the 12V battery being dead, and asked for $500 to replace the 12V battery... which was clearly damaged by the defective Kia charging system. So our complaint is two parts: i) allegedly the system would at least warn before dying (it didn't). and ii) in the process of being defective, it damaged other components and Kia is trying to not repair those claiming they're not under warranty. That is, frankly, crap.

The defogger system. The car window’s suddenly fog up while driving and not adjusting the system. Theres no warning the windows start fogging up. I adjust to just front defrost on high and it takes 10 to 15 seconds to clear the windows good enough to see clearly . I took it to the dealership and was told nothing was detected. Mechanic told me he turned it up to 85, my cars high setting is 82, and tested the air temperature stating it was up to 105°. This just started after the latest recall was completed by the dealership. I’ve attached pictures of the windows fogged up while the system was on auto. This had happened 3 times since the first incident with the system off auto as well.

The driver cluster in front of steering wheel constantly goes from blank to partial screen to proper driver display. I have video of this happening. The speed, turns signals, odometer and blind spot information cannot be seen during the blank and partial screen. The dealer has replicated the problem. I’m out of warranty so replacement will cost $8500. There were no issues up to the point where it failed.

I purchased my car 08/08/2022, my car stopped charging by June 2023. I took it to the shop and was told, it was my charger. In August of 2023, I was told it was the ICCU. From 06/2023-12/07/2024, I had a total of 9 recalls on this car. Kia did not notify me at all for any recall with the exception of the second one that occurred in December of 2024 (the 9th recall). Some of the recalls I found online when my car failed to charge, one my insurance company notified me of and others I found out when I had other issues with my car.

The contact owns a 2022 Kia EV6. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road, the contact waited for a while, and then restarted the vehicle. The contact stated that several unknown service vehicle warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was returned to the owner and returned to the dealer approximately 12 times. The vehicle had been taken to another dealer, Executive Kia (1164 N Colony Rd, Wallingford, CT 06492) who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery had failed and there was battery acid accumulated on and around the battery. The battery acid was cleaned but the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

EV6 12v Battery isn't being maintained by the system and has failed and needed replacement. ICCU has been inspected under the recall but not replaced. The 12v battery is out of 36k mile warranty and has to be replaced out of pocket, when early failure is likely due to keeping the battery in an undercharged state.

The ev6 12 volt battery is not being charged by the main battery. It was recalled for overheating and not charging. I took it in and it was supposedly fixed. Took about three weeks. It happened again and I didn’t have my car for three weeks. I am now on my third time where the small battery is not charging and we were almost stranded.

Originally this 2022 Kia EV6 on the dashboard was showing 225-230 miles at 100% charge. Then the dashboard charge at 100% showed only 180 miles. I got the Recall Notice about this matter, took it in to the Kia dealer. They did a software download and then the dashboard charge at 100% showed 195 miles. I took it back and Kia did another software download, then the dashboard charge at 100% showed 205 miles. Kia declared my EV6 was fixed. I have driven it only 10,000 miles !!!! The software download did NOT fix the problem because it is still not showing the pre-software problem charge at 225 miles. This is a 10% loss of range

The 12v battery in my vehicle failed due to the known ICCU issue. The dealership has the battery and has since replaced it. I do not know if they keep it for their records or not. My family's safety was put at risk due to the unpredictable timing of the failure, we were parked (thankfully) but there was a massive thunderstorm headed our way and we had to hunker down while waiting for a tow truck and a ride. This issue has been reproduced & confirmed by dealerships and other EV6 users (check [XXX]). The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership but no others at this time. There was no warning that the battery was about to fail, we were out at a park for the day and got in at the end when we tried to turn on the vehicle - it gave us an error "12v battery...

In April 2024 my Kia EV6 unexpectedly didn’t start. I brought my car in on [XXX], and explained that my car didn’t start, seemingly for no reason. They inspected the car and later that day the dealership gave the car back to me and told me they couldn’t find any problems. I argued with them, I tried to explain that there was obviously something wrong for the car to just not start for no reason. They again told me there wasn’t a problem with the car. On [XXX], the car failed to start again. I jump started it again. The Kia app on my phone then informed me that my car might be subject to a recall, and that’s when I learned...

The vehicle underwent replacement of its ICCU in July-August 2023. I was without the vehicle for 4+ weeks. last week the car flashed a warning to immediately stop and check the power supply (with no instructions on how to do that. ). Was advised both by dealer and Kia not to drive, but to get it to the dealer for service. The following day the vehicle was completely dead. The vehicle (my only transportation) was towed as advised and is once again at Kia service while I’m currently without a vehicle. Was told the ICCU is the likely problem.
