No dash lights, in my way to work someone cut into my(crossed solid line) lane and my vehicle hit the rear end of the vehicle that cut into my lane. Going around 55 and wearing my seatbelt, slammed on the breaks, couldn't go around without flipping my car so we collided. The front end of my car was completely destroyed and the airbags did not deploy. I am this cars second owner after my father bought it new & if he knew it would almost kill his daughter in 12 years he never would have bought it. It had no accident history and had been told the recall was fixed when it very obviously was not. We had a rep from Chrysler come and pull the crash data, and he tried to tell me there was no reason for the airbags to go off. The entire front of my car...
While driving in heavy traffic, there was a Red light and attempted to slow the vehicle. The engine started to jerk forward and the RPMs were increasing without my foot on the accelerator! My foot was on the brake! I was able to turn into a gas station to get to a safer place to park the vehicle. While attempting to park in a parking space the vehicle continued to accelerate by itself, again my foot was applied to the brake pedal. I was literally fighting to stop the vehicle and almost ran into the barrier where customers were walking. Once turning off the vehicle and restarting the engine, it was operating correctly while I’m reverse. I then shifted into drive, and the vehicle lunged forward and the engine accelerated by itself. I brought my Jeep Patriot 2011 for a recall. However, after taking the vehicle to the dealer for a recall check out, the jeep came up with a sound like TA, TA,TA... from the gloves compartment and went I stated the air conditioning or the heating when the weather become cooler.
THE VEHICLE STOPS WITHOUT WARNING - I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES WHEN DRIVING - THE CAR JUST STOPS RUNNING THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON NEIGHBORHOOD ROADS AND AT INTERSECTIONS - IF YOU LET IT SIT FOR AWHILE IT SOMETIMES WILL RESTART IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR OVER A YEAR (PARTLY DUE TO COVID) BUT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT - MARSHALL DODGE JEEP IN CRITTENDEN KY HAS IDENTIFIED THE ISSUE IS WITH THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULAR (TIPM) - I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER FOR RECALL AS I KNOW OTHER MAKES HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS BUT THEY TELL ME THAT YOU HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY PARTICULAR MAKE MODEL - PROB DUE TO IT IS A LIMIT EDITION THEY ONLY MADE A FEW OF THESE FOR THEIR ANNIVERSARY MY CAR HAS OVER 100,000 MILES AND I EXPECT TO MAKE...
I BELIEVE A FEW YEARS BACK THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG SENSOR GOING OFF. I HAD THE SENSOR CHECKED, AND WAS TOLD THE RECALL WAS ADDRESSED AND CLEARED. MY SENSOR IS NOW GOING OFF AGAIN. IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AGAIN UNTIL THE PREVIOUS RECALL?
VEHICLE WAS RANDOMLY UNABLE TO START IN STATIONARY POSITION IN MY INSTANCE. AUTO SHUTDOWN BOX HARNESS AND FAN CONTACTS POORLY PROTECTED FROM MOISTURE AND CONTACTS BECOME CORRODED. RELAY PANEL APPEARS TO BE LOCATED IN THE DRIVER FRONT FENDER BETWEEN THE WHEEL WELL AND THE HEADLIGHT. EITHER PREVENTING VEHICLE FROM STARTING OR POSSIBLY CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL WHEN IN MOTION MAKING VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO STEER OR STOP. ALSO CAUSES MULTIPLE ENGINE CODES TO BECOME DETECTED ACTIVATING MIL.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE JEEP AND IT TURNED OFF ON HER TWICE TRYING TO GET IT BACK HOME. ALL ELECTRICAL WENT OUT AND ENGINE STALLED. AFTER THE SECOND TIME IT ONLY GOES 10 MPH AND STILL STALLS AND POWERS OFF. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I FEEL SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE FROM THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB.
SINCE I BOUGHT THIS IN 2011 IT HAS ALWAYS IDLED ROUGH AND STALLED RANDOMLY. APPARENTLY THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS RANDOM STALLING AND IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET IN SEVERAL CAR ACCIDENTS AND ONE TIME TO CRASH ON THE SIDEWALK AND ALMOST HARM PEDESTRIANS. UNFORTUNATELY I THINK I WILL BE FORCED TO SELL THIS VEHICLE.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE CAR WANTING TO STALL OUT. IT IS AS IF THE GAS IS NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE. I BEGIN TO LOSE POWER AND STEERING. I GUN THE GAS, BUT IT HESTITATES. THIS IS HUGELY DANGEROUS. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE SERVICED IT REGULARLY, AND TO THIS DAY ONLY ABOUT 44K ON IT. THIS IS SCARING ME. CAR ENGINE CUTS OUT WHILE STATIONARY OR TRYING TO START MOVING. STEERING WHEEL AND SHIFTER LOCKS UP. THEN TYPICALLY RESTARTS RIGHT AWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THENS COMES ON, BUT NOTHING SHOWS UP WHEN RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS. VERY SCARED THIS WILL HAPPEN TO ME WHILE GOING 70 ON A HIGHWAY. I COULD EASILY BE HIT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THIS TYPE OF CAR.
I WILL BE DRIVING MY JEEP PATRIOT AND IT WILL JUST STALL OUT. I HAVE TO WAIT FOR A WHILE AND IT STARTS UP. IT WILL AGAIN STALL OR RUN FINE FOR AWHILE. I HAVE HAD MY CAR STALL ON THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGH SPEED AND ALSO AT LOW SPEED AT LEAST 7 TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. I HAVE CONTACTED A JEEP DEALER AND ALSO JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY WILL NOT FIX UNDER A RECALL. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM A LOT AND IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TO SEVERAL PEOPLE.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED BOILING HOT WATER COMING FROM A CLOGGED AIR CONDITIONING DRAIN TUBE, WHICH OVERFLOWED BETWEEN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE FIREWALL. IN ADDITION, WATER DRIPPED DOWN ONTO THE LEG OF THE DRIVER AND CAUSED A BURN. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CLOGGED AIR CONDITIONING DRAIN TUBE CAUSED WATER TO IMMERSE TO THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD, WHICH CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION MODULE TO BECOME WATER LOGGED AND FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY NOT START. IT WILL EVENTUALLY START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IT ACTS LIKE ITS NOT GETTING FUEL ANT THE "ETC" WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. RECENTLY MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT 60 MPH AND THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED IN THE MIDDLE LANE WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS. SHE WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO GET IT RESTARTED AND DRIVE HOME. I HAVE HAD IT AT THE MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE STARTING ISSUE OR STALE ISSUE. REPLACED RELAYS AFTER READING THAT THERE ARE KNOWN ISSUES WITH RELAY BOX DUE TO CORROSION AND PLACEMENT OF RELAYS IN WHEEL WELL BUT THIS DIDN'T HELP. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS COMPUTER / ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. I HAVE READ DOZENS OF POSTS ABOUT VERY SIMILAR ISSUE AND UNFORTUNATELY FOUND THAT THERE IS NO FIX FROM DEALERS AND NO INFORMATION ABOUT POSSIBLE CAUSES. I'M...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP PATRIOT. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, IT RANDOMLY STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V120000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,200.
ON 12/28/2016, THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW MOTOR AND MASTER SWITCH WERE REPLACED BY SOUTH POINT CHRYSLER (SP). THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 9 DAYS SINCE THEY ENCOUNTERED AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. COINCIDENCE? PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR THRU DUE TO EXTENDED WARRANTY. FROM 1/23/2016 3 ALTERNATORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND 2 BATTERIES BY PRECISION TUNE (PT). THE CAR HAS THE SYMPTOMS OF STALLING/DING AND A FEW MINUTES/HOURS LATER IT STARTS. SINCE 3/12/2016 I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ARE UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY AND SECURE NET WARRANTY ONLY PAID A PORTION OF THE ALTERNATOR REPAIR. 3/12-3/16 SP HAD THE CAR AND WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE SYMPTOMS, AT THIS POINT THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BROUGHT OVER BY PT. ON 3/20 AFTER BEING ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOW ON A CITY STREET THE CAR DIES AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVE. NO RESPONSE, DEAD! I WAS ABLE TO...

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED AGAIN HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED A THIRD TIME HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. PRIOR TO THIS FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE MOTOR AND THE WINDOW WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,000.
AT IDLE AND WHILE DRIVING, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) LIGHT BLINKS INTERMITTENTLY AND I LOSE POWER. AFTER ABOUT 4 DAYS OF THIS HAPPENING, NOT ONLY DID THE ETC LIGHT COME ON, BUT THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) LIGHT CAME ON. THEN THE 4X4 LIGHT, AIRBAG LIGHTS, AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE JEEP RAN REALLY ROUGH AT IDLE. I TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED JEEP DEALER TO BE TOLD THAT I NEED THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED FOR $591. THE MILEAGE ON MY JEEP IS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.
I WAS DRIVING AND I WAS COMING TO A STOP WHEN MY SERIOUS XM RADIO CUT OUT, THE NEXT THING THAT WENT OUT WAS MY DASH LIGHT AND MY CAR SURGED AND SHUT OFF. I'M LUCKY I WASN'T DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR A FAST ROAD AS MY JEEP JUST DECIDED TO STOP RESPONDING TO THE GAS PEDAL DUE TO A FAULTY TIPM AND SLOWED DOWN TO A CRAWL. THE FLATBED OPERATOR WAS UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE.
MY VEHICLE IS HAVING TROUBLES STARTING. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WANT TO EVEN TURN OVER. THE HORN GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. THE MOON ROOF OPENS AND CLOSES AT RANDOM TIMES. THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK(EVEN AFTER NEW BULBS ARE PUT IN). THE TURN SIGNALS DO NOT ALWAYS WORK.

A YEAR AGO, I BROUGHT MY 2011 JEEP PATRIOT TO A CAR WASH. THE SUNROOF WAS CLOSED, HOWEVER WHILE GOING THROUGH THE CAR WASH, WATER STARTED POURING THROUGH THE SUNROOF AND THE LIGHT FIXTURES, INSTANTLY CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND DAMAGING THE ROOF LINER AND THE CAR STEREO. I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS HESITANT TO PICK THE CAR UP BECAUSE THERE WOULD SURELY BE ADDITIONAL DAMAGE THAT WOULD NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED I PICKED UP MY CAR THE STEREO AND LIGHTS STILL DID NOT WORK. DRIVER'S POWER DOOR LOCK STOPPED FUNCTIONING. IT IS SOLELY THE DRIVER'S DOOR. ALL OTHER POWER DOOR LOCKS FUNCTION APPROPRIATELY. THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHEN THE MINIMUM THRESHOLD SPEED IS REACHED. IT ALSO DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK/UNLOCK WITH A KEY FOB. POWER DOOR LOCKS WERE CREATED TO ENHANCE DRIVER SAFETY, SO THE FACT THAT THIS STOPPED FUNCTIONING ON A VEHICLE LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNING. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON 12/03/13 I WAS AT AN INTERSECTIONS ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AND TURN IN TO TRAFFIC ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, ALMOST GOT HIT. 1COMPLAINT NUMBER: 10412080INCIDENT DATE: JUNE 18, 2011DATE ADDED TO FILE: JULY 12, 2011 DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPLAINT: WHILE TRAVELING ON A FREEWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, MY INSTRUMENT PANEL LIT UP AND MY CAR LOST ALL POWER. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. WHEN I LOOKED UP THE PANEL LIGHT MEANINGS IN THE MANUAL, I DETERMINED IT WAS SAFE TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE CAR. THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER WAITING FOR A FEW MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AND TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ACKNOWLEDGED THE CAR PROBLEM BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE IT. AT THE TIME, I HAD 7500 MILES ON MY CAR. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THIS WEEK. MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND WOULD NOT RESTART.
