The welding job and the weak, inferior metal used to stabilize the the axels is faulty. We had an eight foot piece of iron fall off on the highway at 60mpg and nearly caused a massive pile up accident on top of damage to our 5th wheel, also making it nearly impossible to drive until we could find a metal fabricator to fix the problem, a simple weld job was not possible due to a poor, dangerous design by the manufacture of the frame. We have had the frame fixed 3 times so far until we finally found an engineer who understood the stupid design flaws and fixed it the correct way, not only is this extremely dangerous to anyone on the road, the correct fix has cost over $5,000 plus lost time, wages, emotional scares and a loss of any confidence in the safety of anything on the road today.
Body detached from frame.
While inspecting our recently purchased 5th wheel RV I noticed that the left front tire makes contact at times with a frame outrigger. The other three tires do not have an outrigger over them. I have contacted the local dealership, Big Sky RV who did not reply. I then contacted Jayco who pushed me to Lippert, the frame manufacturer who in turn pushed me back to Jayco claiming Jayco designed the frame. I provided pictures as requested to both but neither one appears to want to take corrective action or let know if this is a safe operating condition. I feel this tire rub on the outrigger is not normal and may cause the tire to wear more quickly or even fail if the tire heats up. If the tire should fail and comes apart this could cause damage to the RV, cause an accident, or cause an accident or damage a passing motorist vehicle. I have visually inspected the axles, spring mounts, and spring assembles. I did not find any broken welds or find that the axles have shifted out of alignment with the frame as well any uneven or unusual wear of suspension components.

The contact owns a 2019 Jayco Eagle. The contact stated that the trailer was rocking a bit intermittently while driving approximately 55 MPH. The contact stated that the trailer was taken home and he noticed that the subframe underneath had fractured. The contact took the trailer to the dealer who informed them that the frame was no longer covered under warranty however, the springs and axles that had collapsed were covered. The contact took the trailer to a body shop who stated the frame was repairable. The trailer had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.
