The first incident, my SUV failed to start, per Roadside Assistance, I replaced the battery. No diagnostic testing done. On 12/26/25 my SUV STOPPED COLD while driving. Red battery light and other warning indicators on dashboard lit up. Radio went dead; loss of steering assist; loss of vehicle power; dashboard went black and SUV SHUT DOWN. It would not start again. Towed to Hyundai for diagnostic test. I leave my home at 4:30 a.m. every morning driving 30 miles on the beltway to work. Imagine the danger, Stopping Cold on the beltway, in the dark alone with no power for emergency lights to warn approaching traffic of the danger. I travel with my family in my SUV on the beltway daily. I no longer trust this vehicle, and I’ve requested to be reimbursed; my vehicle is my livelihood and it’s my life and the lives of my family each day...
My car was making a rattling noise from the engine and would stutter at a stop and sometimes kick into park or turn off. No warning lights would turn on, on the dash board warning i was low on oil. The back passenger brake light warning light turned on. The Third seat middle seatbelt does not lock. I took into Hyundai to get it serviced and I had to pay for my car to be put on a diagnostic test. I was told I was low on oil. I never had any warning lights go on, on my Dashboard. My motor could have blown out. The only warning light I got was my back light is out. I never had any warning signal go on my dashboard saying my seatbelt doesn’t lock. I had it serviced 2025 and again the same back tail light is out. I have kept my...
My 2022 Hyundai Palisade has repeatedly shut off while coming to a stop. The vehicle stalls unexpectedly, dashboard lights illuminate as if the vehicle is being restarted, and the gear sometimes shifts into neutral. I have to manually restart the car to resume driving. This issue has occurred multiple times under normal driving conditions—both when the Idle Stop & Go (ISG) system is enabled and disabled. The frequency of these stalls has increased, and they present a dangerous situation, especially at intersections or during heavy traffic. After researching online, I found that numerous 2020–2022 Palisade owners have reported the same symptoms. Many of them were told by their dealers that an ECU and/or TCU software update was needed. This suggests a broader systemic issue with the vehicle’s powertrain management system, which should warrant further investigation. As of now, no recall has been issued, but this is a recurring issue that...
Vehicle randomly burst into flames while parked and shut off in our driveway beside our home.vehicle is total loss. Fire department determined fire started driver side rear of vehicle in wiring. Diehl Hyundai of Sharon was the last dealer to proved service and closed the recall on this vehicle. Vehicle model is known for this type of fire. Dealer did not make us aware of this recall before purchase. Vehicle was purchased specifically for towing ability.
Child safety lock failure. Child safety locks click on and off continuously for 20 - 40 seconds. After the lock stops doing this, the following message appears on dashboard: "Child safety lock failure". This occurs randomly and can occur while driving or parked. Frequency has increased since it first started occurring.
Random clicking noise coming from the doors and a relay clicking noise coming from under the glove box followed by a Child Safety Lock Failure error message on the instrument cluster. This results in the doors being able to be opened while the vehicle is in drive
During normal course of driving, child safety lock begins clicking. At random times for a varied amount of time between 5 seconds to 20 seconds. I can turn off the clicking by turning off the child safety lock. If I turn back on the child safety lock, the clicking may or may not resume. This is being documented on some online forums with others experiencing the same. Our safety has yet to be tested with this issue as my son is harnessed in and is only [XXX] old, but we are about to move into a booster seat. I am concerned he may be grown enough to have better access to the door and its settings with us moving him into his next seat size. The dealer has confirmed the problem and changed the "child lock switch" but the issue returned within a week. Just before turning in the car...
I was driving down a road with 50mph speed limit when a few of my dash lights began to come on and then go off. Then about 2minutes later, all the dash lights came on, my display screen went black, my power steering wheel froze up. I safely pulled over to a parking lot. Turned the car off. And it wouldn't start back up. I took it to the Jim Click Hyundai in Tucson to get it diagnosed. The alternator was diagnosed as faulty, therefore killing my battery. This is an extremely unsafe circumstance for my 2 year old car to be going through. I cannot believe that this happend. I had to pay for a new battery at the dealership. Now not even 2 months later... my car wouldn't start. I waited 10minutes, it turned on, but it looked like it did a factory reset. I will be contacting...
Ebp system failed. Upon investigation, the caliper and electrical was corroded and in non-working order. The car wouldn’t release the ebp and was unsafe to drive.
Went to leave today, started my car and the dashboard lights (display) was off. Turned off car and restarted, still didn’t come back on after a restart.
Child window lock button problems. At times when the child window lock button is depressed the car cycles through the locking sound. Happens repeatedly and the only way to turn it off is to turn off the child window lock safety feature.
Hyundai has failed to remedy recall 235 within a reasonable amount of time, and is misreporting the stats of completed repairs related to this recall. They state that owner notification letters and dealer instructions were mailed May 2023 and that "dealers will install a new fuse and wire extension kit, as necessary, free of charge." Yet, the dealerships I've contacted do not have the replacement parts and have not been able to repair my vehicle despite many inquiries. I have inquired with Hyundai USA about this permanent recall remedy and they have been unable to assist. They refer me back to the dealership, and the dealership refers me back to Hyundai USA with no remedy in site. The quarterly report stats are misleading, as my car and others have had this recall marked as "completed" when in fact only the inspection and interim fix to remove the 40A fuse was...
When vehicle is placed in reverse a warning that pops up says parking sensor error or blockage with a exclamation point in the front comes across on my dash board. Sensors have been cleaned and checked. Also disables the front warning collision feature.
My car randomly starts itself if I leave the keys in it. Tge auto lights stopped working one night while driving. Hasn't done it again since. While my son and I were driving it decided to shut off at 50 mph. There was no warning at all. It has not been inspected as it has nit happened again to be seen.
Child safety locks fail more frequently than they work. At any given time the locks star making a rapid clicking sound and then a “child safety lock malfunction” message appears on the dash. I have three young children who can reach the window buttons and handles while buckled putting our safety at risk when majority of the time this safety feature malfunctions. This has been on going for months but is getting rapidly more frequent.
Vehicle has a Hyundai dealer installed tow package. There is a recall #22v-633 (nhtsa). Vehicle can catch fire. Received a second letter stating a repair is available however dealer says manufacturer has a small wire harness on back order. Months have gone by since initial notification now.
Hyundai issued a recall in August 2022 for a potential fire hazard involving their vehicles equipped with a towing package. Their temporary solution was to remove a safety fuse from the system, thus rendering the towing capability unusable. I took my vehicle to the Hyundai dealership to have the recall addressed. The previously mentioned temporary solution was applied. There have been no updates and no permanent solutions applied to this issue. I contacted my dealership and was told that the dealership is not updated by Hyundai regarding a permanent solution. It has been 8 months since the recall was issued with no permanent solution offered.
Was (thankfully) driving on a completely straight 2 lane highway when the collision avoidance system gave an error message to check it. My steering wheel became completely immobilized and couldn't be turned in either direction more than an inch or so. I eventually pulled off to the side of the road and restarted the car, which fixed the problem. I have since set the Memory settings for drivers 1 and 2 to omit using all of the lane minder/collision avoidance features in the hope that if they are just off entirely, the system won't malfunction and cause a wreck. Don't know what I would have done if we were on a curvy road with no breakdown lane nearby or if we were on the interstate.
This vehicle was recalled due to an electrical issue with the towing wiring harness. I took it in to a dealership for the repair and over a month later, learned it wasn't actually repaired. They simply took the fuse out and reported it to the manufacturer. I wasn't told this wasn't being repaired or that the wiring was being disabled. I towed a small boat a few weeks later and as it got dark, figured out the lights weren't working. I called them today to let them know the repair wasn't done and this was when i learned they didn't actually repair it. I also was not notified by the manufacturer of the recall. I was told about it by a relative. When i contacted them, they said they weren't responsible for notifying me.
I pulled off the highway onto an exit. Midway down the exit, the engine shut off and breaking was impaired. I was able to yank the wheel to the right and pull it off onto the shoulder to avoid a collision. Was able to restart vehicle and get home
The engie restarted itself after being shut off and no key was near vehicle and continued to run overnight, filing car with carbon monoxide. Hyundai service department was contacted and said no inspection was need but to monitor car and contact Hyundai customer line and advise. The reference case number is 20244323.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that after his wife started the vehicle there were several warning messages displayed on the instrument panel including the check engine light, traction control, fuel-saving, forward collision, and master warning lights. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who discovered that the electrical wiring harness had been chewed on and damaged by rodents. The wiring harness was replaced, and the failure was remedied. The contact was informed that because the wiring harness was manufactured using a soy-based material the rodents would chew on the wiring harnesses. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,332. Vehicle has been repaired.*JB
