NHTSA Complaint #11597937 — 2022 HYUNDAI PALISADE

During normal course of driving, child safety lock begins clicking. At random times for a varied amount of time between 5 seconds to 20 seconds. I can turn off the clicking by turning off the child safety lock. If I turn back on the child safety lock, the clicking may or may not resume. This is being documented on some online forums with others experiencing the same. Our safety has yet to be tested with this issue as my son is harnessed in and is only [XXX] old, but we are about to move into a booster seat. I am concerned he may be grown enough to have better access to the door and its settings with us moving him into his next seat size. The dealer has confirmed the problem and changed the "child lock switch" but the issue returned within a week. Just before turning in the car to the dealership for fixing this (later to be found unsuccessful), the child safety lock failed to a level where it triggered a dashboard warning about it. Since the "switch" has been replaced I have not seen a warning notification on the dashboard. This has been an ongoing issue for a couple of years now.
