2017 HONDA PILOT Forward Collision Avoidance Automatic Emergency Braking Problems

so i have a Honda pilot and have been seeing a light saying that my collision mitigation system is broke so i took it in for a diagnostic which i was charged for which is fine and normal i guess but they told me that the system was broken possibly from just driving through construction zones and this causes phantom braking so i have to get it fixed but they want to charge me for the repairs which from my perspective the customer i shouldn't have to pay for a defect like that that can cause injurie or much worse

On many occasions, when the vehicle is stopped (at a light or in gridlock), when I remove my foot from the brake to apply the gas, the engine stops and the vehicle shuts down all systems (audio, nav, etc). When this happens, for a very brief time (too short to get a photo) warning lights related to the collision and/or emergency braking systems flash. After those lights go away, the dashboard lights indicate that the vehicle is in neutral (not by my doing) and that I must press the brake, put the vehicle in park, and restart the vehicle. This process does not always work the first time and the delay of turning off and restarting the car, even when it does work, causes a dangerous situation in traffic. Turned on the car back in May '22 and all my lights came on my dashboard for ACC, Collision, Lane Departure, Lane Keeping Assistant, Brake Assistance. I have taken it to two dealers and the problem seems to be the multi-function camera in the windshield has failed. Said it is safe to drive still without it, but now the Cruise Control isn't even available with this malfunction. Two months later my Transmission Problem light comes on. I take it in again and they say the multi-function camera being broken is triggering this warning light to come on. So I don't know if my transmission actually has a problem or if the multi function camera is breaking everything electrical in my car. Automatic braking engaged with no apparent obstacle/reason

The camera assembly - monocular unit mounted in front of the rear view mirror just stopped working. It’s responsive for a multitude of safety systems, such as: Automatic Emergency Braking, Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Asst.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILLY NAVARRE HONDA (1310 E COLLEGE ST, LAKE CHARLES, LA 70605, (337) 429-2137) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
