The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. The contact stated while driving at 5MPH and parking in front of her residence, she noticed that smoke was coming out of the hood of the vehicle and the vehicle was overheating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle. Upon opening the hood of the vehicle, the contact noticed that the smoke was originating from the engine compartment. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine block was cracked. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the failure was associated with Honda Technical Service Bulletin Number: 10-048. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic test.
