The steering is sticky, and jerky. It's hard for me to maintain a safe driving experience. I'm going to get pulled over. There is a recall on this problem but I have no recalls for my car!!!! The dealership will not acknowledge. And ot is getting so much worse. 52233 miles.
Steering wheel sticking or no response at all at highway speeds going around 60-80 miles per hour.
Sticky steering wheel at highway speed 70mph and when you put enough force to make it turn it jerks and you have to over correct it and go the other way to maintain in the middle lane on the highway. Takes about 10-15miles to start doing it but does not go away at all once it starts. Happens everytime on the highway
All lights have popped up on dash. Stayed on for 2 days back in july and then went off. Came back on 2 days ago (oct 5th) and have not went off yet. LKA, cruise control, parking brake light, TPMS, traction control, and engine light.
I noticed a loud grinding noise and reduced braking power coming from my 2020 Honda Accord while driving at normal city speeds. A local mechanic inspected it and found that the rear brake caliper was sticking and causing premature wear. I contacted Honda service, but they refused to cover the cost or inspect it under goodwill, even though similar issues have been reported with other Honda models. This issue puts my safety at risk as braking is compromised and steering becomes harder. The problem was confirmed by a local certified mechanic and is available for inspection if needed.
Steering sticks when driving straight. Additional pressure needed on steering input causing car to jerk left or right.
While driving at highway speeds, the vehicles steering becomes locked in place requiring a substantial amount of force to turn with the road causing the car to jerk which then cause me to over correct. There are no warning lights that have come on. The vehicle has less then 60k miles. The problem has been reproduced by a Honda dealer. They stated that they don't know how the steering rack could have failed.
When driving, the steering wheel sticks and you almost have to jerk the steering wheel over when not going in a straight line. I have seen that people with Hondas have been having similar issues for years. This is a safety concern because I have a 16 year old learning how to drive and she is unable to drive the car straight due to the issue with the steering. I refuse to pay to have this issue resolved when it seems to be something that occurs, and has been occurring, in Accords.
I put in a complaint before and the problem still persists. I’ve been to Honda over 10 times and they claim they cannot recreate it which is just a tactic to not repair the issue. Seems A LOT of other Honda owners are having this issue which is the gear box. There are multiple years affected including 2018-2020. The steering wheel sticks while trying to drive straight. No issues with turns. The steering wheel will hold in the straight position and when trying to drive straight and ease with the road the wheel will not turn even the slightest without some force which causes you to overcorrect. It is VERY dangerous and I don’t know why Honda is not recalling the problem parts. I bought my car new and never had an issue until the second month I drove the car. 3 years later and over 10 visits to Honda...
At approximately 9,000 miles I noticed a steering problem with my accord. It started very subtle over a few weeks. Driving at a speed over 50 mph, the steering wheel felt as if it was sticking when trying to turn slightly to the right or left. It became more and more noticeable to a point where I did not feel safe driving it on the interstate at high speeds. When it would stick, I had to pull the wheel harder to the right or left to release it, making me feel I would over correct and run off the road or into another car. The problem was very noticeable after about 30 minutes of driving when the car was warmed up, and at a speed greater than 50 mph. The steering was normal at low speeds during slower traffic in town. The dealership duplicated the problem and replaced the car...
The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the tire pressure warning light and brake system warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the driver assists cruise control system, emergency brakes system, collision prevention system, and electrical steering assist all failed at the same time. The contact stated that the safety assist features became disabled but returned after the vehicle was restarted; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure occurred more frequently. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
Hi, Monday I bought a 2020 used certified Honda accord with approx 19k miles that is presenting problems with the electric steering box. considering the vehicle that I traded in for this, an 2019 honda civic had the same part replaced under warranty at approx 28k miles and my accord has similarities to that problem. today 03/02/22, I took my car to the dealer but the technician said couldn't see the problem. the problem is: in an intermittent way while driving, the steering wheel tends to do micro jumps instead of smooth moving. also, today driving at highway speeds (70, but it happens at different speeds) I noticed while making a very smooth right curve it got "stick" in the position it was forcing me to apply a little more strength to have it centered again instead of just letting it go by itself. I have mechanical knowledge and I...
On August 7th, I was driving on I 75 South at highway speed ( 75 -70) and I felt the steering wheel begin to move from side to side. After approximately 5 mins of my steering wheel moving from side to side but very subtle, then my car veered to the left lane and then to the right lane. At this point, I had no control of my car. My car was swerving from one lane to the next. I attempted to press the brake to gain control of my car and that made it worse. I gently took my feet off the gas and I felt that I had some control of my car after a few seconds. I went to the right lane and pulled over to the media. I checked my tires and they look fine. I took my car to Honda and they couldn't find anything...
8/31/2020 MY 2020 HONDA ACCORD POWER STEERING IS TAKING CONTROL OF POWER STEERING. I HAD A CRASH AT 400HAMPTON ROAD -DALLAS TEXAS. MY ( POWER STEERING) PULLED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CURB, I HAD TO YANK THE CAR BACK TO THE LEFT BUT THE CAR ALREADY COLLIDED WITH THE LEFT CURB, RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE SIDE OF CAR AND MY RIGHT HAND.
2020 HONDA ACCORD - NOT TRACKING STRAIGHT. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CANNOT RECREATE. ISSUE HAPPENS EVERYTIME GOING 50+MPH FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME WHEN CAR IS WARMED UP (30-45+ MINUTES ON HIGHWAY. DID NOT INITIALLY HAPPEN DURING RESIDENTIAL COMMUTES, BUT IS NOW STARTING TO.) WHEEL STICKS TO ONE SIDE WHEN TURNING SLIGHTLY TO EITHER SIDE AND THEN RELEASES CAUSING OVERCORRECTING. WHEEL IS LOOSE AT CENTER AND YOU CONTINUOUSLY HAVE TO ADJUST LEFT TO RIGHT TO LEFT TO STAY STRAIGHT. IT'S ALMOST AS IF THERE IS NO RESISTANCE IN A CERTAIN SECTION OF THE WHEEL. SEVERELY CONCERNING. FEELS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND DEALERSHIP WON'T LISTEN. SEEMS LIKE SAME ISSUE FROM 2014 RECALL. PLEASE RECALL THIS ISSUE - I JUST BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND IT'S DOING THIS; SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY IN A BRAND NEW CAR WITH ME BEING THE FIRST OWNER - BOUGHT NEW IN NOVEMBER 2019 AT 6MILES. I'VE...
THERE APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT, THE WILL SEEM TO LACK RESPONSE AND THE CAR WILL DRIFT TO THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT ONLY TO HAVE CONTROL REGAINED VIA A NOTCHY LIGHT JOLT OF THE WHEEL. THIS HAS ALSO BEEN DESCRIBED BY 2018-2020 ACCORD OWNERS AS A NOTCH AND/OR FLAT SPOT IN THE STEERING WHEN ON SMOOTH STRAIGHT HIGHWAY ROADS. I CONSISTENTLY HAVE THIS OCCUR WHEN DRIVING FOR MORE THSN 5 OR TEN MINUTES ON ANY OPEN ROAD. DOES NOT SEEM TO NOTICEABLE IN LOCAL DRIVING. I DO NOTICE THIS WITHIN 20-30 MINUTES OF DRIVING. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP (WALDORF HONDA) AND THEY DID A MINOR ADJUSTMENT TO THE BALANCE OF THE TIRES. THIS HAD NO EFFETC FOR THE PROBLEM AND I NOTICED IT HAPPENING AGAIN IMMEDIATELY UPON DRIVING ON AN PEN HIGHWAY AGAIN. I'VE IDENTIFIED AT LEAST 20...
THERE APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT, THE POWER STEERING WILL LACK RESPONSE AND THE CAR WILL DRIFT ONLY TO HAVE CONTROL REGAINED VIA A NOTCHY LIGHT JOLT OF THE WHEEL. ANOTHER WAY IN WHICH 2018-2020 ACCORD CONSUMERS HAVE DESCRIBED IT AS A NOTCH AND/OR FLAT SPOT IN THE STEERING WHEN ON SMOOTH STRAIGHT HIGHWAY ROADS. AS OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE NOTED, I TYPICALLY ENCOUNTER THIS ONLY AFTER DRIVING FOR A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF TIME, BUT I DO EVEN NOTICE THIS WITHIN 20-30 MINUTES OF DRIVING. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP (LEITH HONDA ABERDEEN) TO WHICH THEY STATED "CUSTOMER CONCERN NOT DUPLICATED AT THIS TIME. NO SERVICE BULLETINS AT THIS TIME OR SERVICE NEWS ON THIS CONCERN". THE DEALERSHIP "PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC TEST NO DTC CODES STEER ANGLE AT ZERO DEGREES". THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. GIVEN THAT I'VE IDENTIFIED AT...
A MESSAGE CAME OVER THE DASHBOARD "TPMS TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION, SEE DEALERSHIP". THERE WAS A TEXT MESSAGE THEN APPEARED ON THE MUSIC SCREEN. I WAS ON MY WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT LANE TOWARDS TRAFFIC AND I WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT AND HIT THE JERSEY BARRIER AND SPIN THE CAR AROUND. THE VEHICLE FROM THE REAR HIT ME AND
HARD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. PROBLEM PERSISTS WITH AND WITHOUT HONDA'S LANE DEPARTURE ON OR/AND OFF. *TR
