The motorcycle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while he was about to ride the motorcycle, he noticed that the charging system was lower than normal. The motorcycle was taken to an unknown second dealer, where the voltage regulator was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The motorcycle was taken to a third dealer, Motown Harley-Davidson (14100 Telegraph Rd, Taylor, MI 48180), where with it was diagnosed with loose and corroded terminal wiring. The part was replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that while riding and coming to a stop, the contact shifted from 2nd gear to 1st gear; however, the motorcycle remained stuck in 1st gear and failed to respond as needed while riding from a complete stop. The contact was able to ride the residence. The contact stated that upon inspecting the motorcycle, he noticed that the shifter lever had detached from the transmission housing.
