On Star module quit working in our Yukon, which in turn makes it useless to have any of the safety features. On Star and GM know this is an ongoing problem, but no recall has been issued. Neither company will repair unless an $1100 fee is paid. Why install On Star if you know it will malfunction. Since there is a monthly service fee I think they need to make sure the vehicle has the correct parts.
- Rearview camera system (backup camera) which is malfunctioning increasing risk of a collision and safety concern. - Yes it can be available for inspection upon upon request. - Problem was reported to dealer 4/15/25 for inspection on 4/24/25 - Vehicle has not been reported to manufacturer, police, insurance representatives as it is scheduled to be checked by GMC dealer who claims there are no outstanding recalls on vehicle when it is the same known problem on other 2022 GMC Yukons (SLT) and others. - No warning lights appeared prior to camera malfunctioning.
MY ONSTAR MODULE CRASHED. I CANT USE ANY OF MY FEATURES. WHAT IF IM IN A WRECK? I PAID SO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS CAR ONLY FOR IT TO CRAP OUT LIKE THIS. NOT TO MENTION THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL COME IN!!
My vehicle was 8 months old and it completely stopped with no warning going down the interstate, I was in the left lane and the vehicle locked up, engine and all leaving me stranded in the left lane on a busy interstate. When the engine quits, there is absolutely no way to get the vehicle into neutral to get it to a safe location. When this happened I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler . After having the vehicle towed to the dealership, they informed me the engine was seized. It took 3 months to get an engine from GM, they finally got the engine in, started it up in the shop, it apparently ran for about 15 minutes before losing oil pressure. At that time they shut the vehicle off, pulled the oil filter, found metal shavings in it and GM told the dealer to order another engine....
this yukon is leaking water into the cabin and mold has developed. i do not know when this issue started but i noticed the mold under the passenger rubber mat on 8/26/23. i contacted the local dealer, koon's gmc and they told me that they would charge me to just look at the car even though it is under a bumper to bumper 3 year warranty. the dealer was unable to locate the source of the leak, so nothing was fixed. i have been in touch with a gmc representative and she hasn't any useful information. the development of mold in the car is hazardous to our family and this should be looked into by the government.
On September 9th at approximately 5:00 pm, my wife and I left Augusta and headed to Atlanta to attend an event. While driving highway speeds of about 70-80mph, the vehicle began to decelerate rapidly and then shifted itself into neutral gear. Unable to shift back into drive, I was forced to maneuver my slowing vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway, placing myself and my wife in danger of colliding with the other vehicles who were still travelling at highway speeds. After pulling over onto the shoulder, I was able to shift the vehicle into park and turn it completely off. After a few minutes, I turned the vehicle back on and integrated back into traffic. Approximately 20 minutes later, the vehicle began to have trouble accelerating and I was unable to exceed 65mph on a highway where the speed limit was 70mph, and the other vehicles were exceeding that....
The heads up display starting with the 2022 model removed the colored lane departure warning from the sides of the road graphic that is in line with the road and moved it to a very small display to the left side of the driver's field of view. Now to see the lane departure warning requires a shift of the driver's view to the left and a head tilt if wearing progression bifocals. On prior year models the colored warning provided an early alert well before the seat vibrates as the warning. Taking my vision off the road caused me to come up on a very slow moving car that required the automatic braking to slow my vehicle
