Dashboard cracked due to cheap plastic.
WE ARE MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS VEHICLE FROM TRI-UNITED IN LUBBOCK TX. ALL THE ENGINE LIGHTS ARE ON AND THE AIR BAGS ARE MISSING THIS VEHICLE BODY APPEARS TO BE WRECKED THE HOOD ISN'T SITTING RIGHT. THE DEALERSHIP EVEN ASKED IF WE COULD HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED IN WHICH IT FAILED THE FIRST INSPECTION.
DASH CRACKED AND BROKEN. WORRIED ABOUT SPLINTERED PIECES AND SPEAKER COMING OFF IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR
INTERIOR DASHBOARD. CRACKED IN TWO PLACES 1.) TOP LEFT CORNER OF PASSENGER AIRBAG PANEL 2.) CENTER OF GAUGE DOME STARTING FORM VENT VANES CRACKED UP TO NEARLY TOP OF THE GAUGE DOME. THIS CONDITION STARTED 2018 AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED IN LENGTH. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT ITS ENTIRE OWNERSHIP. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS ARE E EXPERIENCING THIS SAME CRACKING ISSUES IN THE SAME LOCATION.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN 2 PLACES, 1 IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS SEAT, AND THE OTHER IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT BY THE AIRBAG. IT WAS ALREADY CRACKED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED, BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE LIVING ON A DIRT ROAD.
MECHANIC ( ASE CERTIFIED) ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS , STATED FRAME WAS RUSTED TO THE POINT OF HE WAS UNABLE TO INITIATE THE REPAIR.
DASHBOARD STRUCTURAL FAILURE: VEHICLE DASHBOARD IS SUFFERING FROM EXCESSIVE STRUCTURAL FAILURE LEADING TO LARGE LOSE PIECES OF PLASTIC THAN CAN 1) INTERFERE WITH AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, 2) FALL OFF AND INTERFERE WITH BRAKES AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS, 3) CAUSE DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO EXCESSIVE CRACKING AND BREAKAGE UNDER NORMAL USE CONDITIONS. THIS EFFECTS ALL 2007-2014 CHEVROLET AND GMC LIGHT-DUTY TRUCKS. SO LITERALLY TENS OF MILLIONS OF VEHICLES. GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS STRUCTURAL DEFECT.
TAKATA RECALL THE BACK HATCH DOOR WITH NOT GO UP AUTOMATICALLY IT SEEMS TO HAVE THE SHOCK THE AUTOMATICALLY OPENS THE DOOR SOMTHING SEEMS TO HAVE FOLLEN OFF OR BROKE ONLY WORKS MANUALLY

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE DASHBOARD FRACTURED AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,352.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. WHILE PARKED AND/OR DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE CHROME FINISH ON ALL FOUR OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES FLAKED AND THE FACTORY EDGING WAS EXTREMELY ROUGH. THE CONTACT'S HAND HAD BEEN CUT ON THE DOOR HANDLE DUE TO THE ROUGH EDGING. IN ADDITION, THE DASHBOARD CRACKED AND THE PLASTIC NEAR THE DEFROSTER HAD CRUMBLED COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
DASH HAS OVER 6 CRACKS AND PIECES BROKEN OFF THE DASH ITSELF.
TAKATA RECALL, CRACKS IN THE DASH THAT RUN TO THE AIR BAGS ON THE DASH. THE CENTER SPEAKER IS MOUNTED TO THE PLASTIC DASH AND MOVE WITH THE ROAD VIBRATION WHICH BREAKS THE DASH ALONG WITH THE UV RADIATION THAT WEAKENS THE PLASTIC.. THE DASH COULD SPLINTER IN A CRASH AND WOUND OR KILL A PASSENGER.

CRACKS IN DASH AROUND AIRBAG WILL CAUSE INJURY WITH DEPLOYMENT. CRACKS ON THE DASH WILL CAUSE I JUST IN ACCIDENT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED MULTIPLE FRACTURES ACROSS THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

ONE CRACK WAS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE AIR BAG AND THE OTHER ONE WAS LOCATED ON THE HUMP ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CRACKS PROGRESSED UNTIL THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TWO STRESS FRACTURES OCCURRED IN DASHBOARD. ONE ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND ONE ADJACENT TO PASSENGER AIRBAG. CRACK ABOVE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD INTERFERE AND PUNCTURE AIRBAG DURING CRASH OPERATION. CRACK ABOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL IS QUITE LARGE AND COULD CATASTROPHICALLY FAIL DURING A CRASH. *TR
I NOTICED CRACKS OPENING NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AREA AND ON THE TOP OF SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER. CONTACTED THE GM AND I WAS TOLD A SERIES OF EXCUSES SUCH AS: "YOUR WARRANTY IS OVER", "YOU BOUGHT THE CAR USED ( I BOUGHT IT FROM A GM DEALER UNDER THE PRE-OWNED WARRANTY)", OR "MAYBE YOU USED PRODUCTS THAT CRACK THE PLASTIC!" AFTER A BRIEF RESEARCH I FOUND OUT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT GM MADE VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CRACK OPEN AT THE SAME EXACT SPOTS, DOWN TO THE MILLIMETER, AND IT HAPPEN IN THE BRAND NEW CARS AS WELL AS THE OLDER ONES. IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECTIVE ITEM, AND RESULT OF A WRONG DESIGN. GM DOES NOT REPLACE THE PART UNLESS WE PAY FOR IT. THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED THAT PARTS COULD FLY INTO THE CABIN AS A RESULT OF THE AIR...
IN APRIL OF 2013 I TOOK MY GMC INTO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF THE CRACK THAT STARTED ABOVE MY INSTRUMENT PANEL AND WAS TRAVELING TOWARD MY AIRBAG. THE DEALER SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THAT GM HAD REPAIRED SOME BUT WAS NO LONGER DOING SO. HE ALSO SAID THAT IF THEY REPLACED THE DASH WITH A NEW ONE, IT WOULD DO THE SAME THING. THE CRACK HAS CONTINUED TO TRAVEL AND NOW MY AIRBAG PANEL IS RAISED ON THE DASH. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY OFFERED TO SPLIT THE COST OF THE REPAIR AT $400-$500 WITH NO WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR. THEY AGREED THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY INTERIOR DOOR LATCHES ALSO BEGAN PEELING WHICH LEFT SHARP EDGES OF PLASTIC (?)-MY DAUGHTER SLICED HER FINGER OPENING THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. GM AT FIRST REFUSED TO REPLACE THEM IN APRIL OF 2013 BUT AS...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SIDE DASHBOARD EXHIBITED SEVERAL CRACKS NEAR THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A PARTLY SUNNY DAY, APPROXIMATELY 27 DEGREES OUTSIDE WITH MY HEATER ON, MY SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED WITH A SOUND SIMILAR TO A GUNSHOT. AT THAT POINT, THE GLASS DID NOT FALL BUT WAS CRACKED INTO THOUSANDS OF PIECES. LATER AS I DROVE THE GLASS BEGAN TO FALL APART. I WAS NOT FOLLOWING ANY VEHICLE AND WAS NOT DRIVING UNDER A BRIDGE OR AROUND ANY TREES SO THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD HAVE STRUCK MY SUNROOF. THE ROADWAY WAS SMOOTH AND MY SUNROOF HAS NEVER SUSTAINED ANY DAMAGE IN THE PAST. *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION FROM THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR LIFTGATE HAD ONLY BEEN OPENED THREE TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS FOUND THAT ONE OF THE SUPPORT STRUTS HAD DETACHED FROM THE LIFTGATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

REAR HATCH/LIFT GATE HAS NO MANUAL HANDLE TO OPEN. WHEN UNLOCKING POWER LOCKS REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN, THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN LIFT GATE FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE. IF AN ACCIDENT WOULD HAPPEN THERE WOULD BE NO WAY OUT OF REAR OF VEHICLE. REAR HATCH WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL, IT IS ALL ELECTRONIC AND WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR ALL GM SUV'S. HAVE CONTACTED GMC AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO ABOUT ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT CRACK IN THE DASH CONNECTING THE AIR BAG COMPONENT TO THE BODY. THE FIRST CRACK WAS FOUND BACK IN FEBRUARY AND NOW THERE ARE 2 MORE CRACKS - ONE MORE ON THE AIR BAG CONNECTION AND ONE ABOVE THE CLUSTER DOME. MY FEAR IS THAT IF THE AIRBAG IS TO DEPLOY, THE SHARP EDGES RESULTING FROM THE DEFECTIVE DASH WOULD RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT INJURY EVEN IF IT IS A MINOR CRASH. I BELIEVE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. *TT
