TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD F-350, AND STATED THAT THE TWO FRONT RIMS CRACKED TO THE POINT THAT THEY WON'T HOLD ANY AIR. THERE WEREN'T ANY DENTS, AND HE HAD NOT DRIVEN OVER A CURB OR HIT ANY POTHOLES THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE RIMS TO CRACK. THE CONTACT COULD PROVIDE PICTURES IF NEEDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119000, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 122000 MILES.*AK UPDATED 03/30/07. *JB
I HAVE A 2000 FORD F-350 . I BOUGHT IT USED 6 MONTHS AGO. I RECENTLY HAD THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE LOSING AIR. UPON INSPECTION BY MY MECHANIC, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ALLOY RIM HAD A STRESS CRACK IN IT. UPON CONTACTING FORD, THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALLS AND I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT AT MY EXPENSE. I HAVE THE OLD RIM AND DIGITAL PICTURES OF IT ALSO. THIS WHEEL WAS NOT DAMAGED IN ANY WAY, AND THE CRACK SEEMS TO BE FROM A DEFECTIVE DESIGN. THE RIM DID NOT FAIL, BUT HAD I NOT NOTICED THE LOW AIR PRESSURE IN THE TIRE, IT MAY HAVE SOON FAILED. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE, ROBERT POWELL. *JB
