DT: THE CONTACT STATED VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT JUST DIED. IT VARIED AT THE SPEEDS THAT THE CONTACT WAS GOING. THE DEALER CHANGED VARIOUS SENSORS. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE REPAIRED THE WIRING HARNESS. ON 9-16-05 THE CONTACT TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS. HOWEVER, THEY WERE STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPING. IT WILL SOMETIMES START BACK RIGHT AWAY. SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST NOT START, AND ONE COULD WAIT 10 MINUTES AND IT WILL RESTART OR MAY HAVE TO WAIT 2 HOURS BEFORE IT WILL RESTART. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR TWO YEARS. THE CONTACT CITED RECALL 05S34 ON THE SAME VEHICLE BUT JUST DIFFERENT YEAR MODELS. *AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED CONSUMER SMELLED BURNING WIRES. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *AK STATE FARM INSURANCE MADE AN INVESTIGATION ON THE VEHICLE AND SAID THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A DESIGN DEFECT IN THE DASH. *LA
