The rear view backup camera will get scrambled or become blurry from time to time . It is happening more frequently causing the inability to know what is behind you when backing up.
Backup camera distorted, wavy lines, and sometimes blank screen. I have seen other trucks of same year and model that have recalls and dont understand why mine don't. It happens all the time.
Unstable control when driving over uneven roads. Are you sure that recall was done on my truck?
Backup camera is obscured and has lines in it and sometimes it don't even work
Passenger Door latch not functioning properly resulting in the door opening while driving. It only latches closed if the door is being manually held and the key fob lock button is pressed. If the unlock button is inadvertently pushed the door will open while driving
Experience the death Wobble, violently shaking, causing very hard to control vehicle.
The air conditioner compressor locked up (internal failure) which caused the engine v-belt to fail and resulted in the loss of power steering.
Over the last two years my vehicle will display down hill decent, vehicle is not in park, and the wrench light will all display on my screen for no reason. I will pull over and shut the vehicle off and restart the vehicle and all of the messages will go away. Ford hass updatd my software but the messages keep returning. No codes are displayed and the truck runs fine. Ford knows of the issue but they will not fix the issue due to no recall.
My car has death wobble issues. If I go more than 30-40mph on the highway the car starts shaking violently and uncontrollably and swerves side to side. It is a very scary experience. This has happen multiple times. We have brought to the different shops ans change several components but after a month or so the issue comes back. Until recently I brought to a ford dealer and came to find out about the defective problem on this this type of cars. Unfortunateluly ford doesnt want to pay for the entire repair cost.
“Death wobble” vehicle was at highway speed when hit a bump and cause the vehicle to shake violently, causing unsafe driving conditions with lack of control.
1) Front suspension Death Wobble causing loss of control of truck. 2) Lost control of the vehicle running off the road at 70 mph through a fence. 3) Ford has attempted to repair the truck 3 times, the warranty company claimed there is no probem withe the truck the 4th time and declined repair. 4) Pictures have been supplied to insurance, no other inspections. 5) There are no warnings. The first time the issue appears was about 25K miles. I have had my 2019 Ford F250 truck in the shop 4 times for a total of close to 90 days for the Ford Truck Death Wobble. The last time in the shop MPP, Inc. declined to repair the issue. On 9/20/2023, the truck started the Death Wobble causing loss of control and running through a barbed wire fence causing significant damage. Also, Ford has never been able to get the...
While driving on the interstate in South Dakota I may have driven over a small bump in the road. I was in the passing lane. The truck immediately started shaking and I felt like I was going to lose control of the truck. Weather conditions were perfect, sunny and the road was completely dry. I immediately started braking thinking perhaps I had blown out a tire but the truck continued to shake violently while I tried to move back into the driving lane and on to the shoulder of the road. The truck did not quit shaking until I had stopped the vehicle on the shoulder. There was a lot of traffic on the interstate as the Sturgis motorcycle rally had just ended and I had a cyclist behind me as I pulled back into the drivers lane however he had enough space and time to allow me over. I...
Recall #22V644 is coming up on a 1 yr anniversary and Ford has yet to fix my truck. Weeks ago I saw on this website that the parts are now available. I called one dealer, Covington Ford, in Covington Georgia, and was told the parts had to be ordered. I gave all my info and have not heard back from them. I then called Athens Ford in Athens Georgia and was told the parts would have to be ordered. This is ridiculous! If parts are now available why don't these dealers have them to make repairs to affected vehicles. More importantly, why hasn't Ford reached out to owners of these vehicles to tell them parts are now available. I would like for NHTSA to force Ford to repair my vehicle. Thanks Mike
NHTSA issued this recall last September. When is NHTSA going to turn up the heat on Ford to complete this recall repair?
NHTSA issued recall notice 22V644 last September for the rear view camera lens. Every time I call Ford they tell me the parts have not been released. Why can't NHTSA make Ford fix these cameras? If Ford can still build trucks they can repair the ones with defective cameras. If the parts are not available Ford should be made to completely replace the rear camera. Michael Stine
While driving 45 miles an hour down a 3 lane highway I hit a pothole with the left front tire only the truck started to shake uncontrollably I had a hard time keeping it straight and veered into the left lane had to aggressively apply the brakes To get the vehicle to stop causing the vehicle behind me to swerve into the other lane no accidents occurred fortunately This is the 1st time it has happened and the truck did not show any signs of warning or issues. Once I got to a safe place to get out I looked around the truck but could not find any wrong. I will have it inspected by Ford.
The F250 will violently shake in an uncontrollable and unpredictable manner on occasion. It typically happens at speeds over 40 mph when encountering any variation from perfectly flat pavement. Ford has an extended warranty to cover the engineering and design failure of some portion of the steering and suspension system; however, the part is backordered and unavailable to make the covered repair. The vehicle is available to be inspected. The engineering and design flaw causes the vehicle to become uncontrollable while trying to come to a stop endangering the occupants as well as anyone or property in the path. The problem was confirmed by a ford dealer and was stated “it is a known issue with the vehicle” It has not been examined by anyone other than the ford dealership. There were no warning signs from the vehicle; however, an internet search revealed numerous incidents that sound identical. Ford was...
When driving vehicle around 60 to 65 mph on interstate, when you hit a bump it will begin to shake violently and pull to one side. Took vehicle to dealership. They replaced numerous parts, but steering linkage arm, which Ford says it actual problem, is back ordered and could be a year before it is available. I was driving vehicle on the interstate after picking it up from the dealership and it did exactly the same thing. It does not seem safe to drive vehicle, but I do not have another truck to drive.
In the last month of Nov,2022 I almost had 3 near accident incidents with my F250 Super Duty Ford due to a wobbling on front driver side wheels. I have done some research and looks like my truck has the wobble of death issues. I am afraid to drive again and it is our work truck and would like to know my options. Thank you
While driving at freeway speeds, hitting a pothole or other bump, vehicle wobbles uncontrollably in the front end. Vehicle must reduce speed quickly to stop the wobble. I have taken this vehicle into Ford Service twice. The first time they said they fixed the problem by replacing the strut and steering damper. Problem occurred less frequently but continues to occur. I took it in a second time but they could not find a problem. They stated they tried to replicate the problem, but my onboard camera shows they did not take the vehicle off of the lot to drive it at freeway speeds. Forder service said they are aware of the problem but don't know how to fix it. No warning lights. No messages. Nothing unusual was occurring at the time. Freeway speeds were somewhere around 50-70 mph at the times it happened.
My truck has a death wobble!!! It shakes uncontrollably at speeds greater than 55 miles per hour when I hit any bumps. I lose total control of steering and have almost wrecked several times.
I was traveling at approximately 65 MPH on a 4 lane divided highway, when i crossed over a small bridge the front end of the truck began shaking violently for no reason As I slowed down to a stop on the shoulder the shaking stopped. After inspecting the vehicle I continued on my way without further incident. After looking online I found this is called the Ford F-250 "Death Wobble" .
My 2019 F250 has only 17328 miles today. This month I experienced two dangerous situations. When driving at high speed on the freeway, approx. 60 miles per hour, the steering wheel and the whole front end start an uncontrollable shake and wobble. It feels like the truck is going to be broken into pieces. I was driving at freeway speed in the carpool lane, this sudden wobbling scared me and all my family inside the truck. We thought the truck was going to explode or something. I immediately turned on my emergency light and reduced my speed. The car behind me almost hit my truck. I had to get out of the car pool lane and shift four lines before stopping on the shoulder. I looked into the problem online and found out that many Ford Heavy Duty truck owners like me had similar experiences. I went to a nearby...
Suddenly while driving, the car begins to shake uncontrollably/violently, causing the vehicle to swerve and rapidly rotating the steering wheel to move from side to side, making it difficult to control and causes great fear of trying not to crash. Feels like my vehicle is about to fall part so I feel like I have to hold onto my car for dear life.
While driving on more than one occasion the front of the truck and steering wheel starts violently shaking. It makes it hard to control. Once you pull over and stop, you can resume driving without issue. You never know when it will happen.
The first time it happened was about 9/3/2022. I was driving down the road at 60 mph and hit the rumble strip in the middle of the road. The truck started shaking violently until I slowed substantially. I started back up and it was fine. On three separate occasions it has started to do this went hitting a bump in the road. Each time I was driving about 60 mph and it stopped when I slowed substantially. It is almost impossible to steer it when it happens and it is very dangerous.
While driving, if you hit a rough place in the road, the front end shakes violently. You have to apply the brakes and nearly stop to get it to stop shaking. It has happened a few times. We have an appointment to get this repaired, October 5th, 2022.
Front end of vehicle shakes uncontrollably when hitting an uneven road at speed over 50-70 mph. Breaks have to be applied, speed reduction and hazards almost causing collisions. This has occurred 6 times since May 2022. There is current slight shaking on the steering wheel. Dissatisfied with the no disclosure of this issue when purchasing this vehicle and model.
When driving on uneven roads (bumps/potholes) the front end shakes almost like it’s hydroplaning or skipping across the road.
I was driving down the highway today around 70 MPH when I went over a very small pothole. The steering wheel started to shake violently and then the whole truck started to shake. I slowed down and started to pull over because I thought I had blown a tire. When I got down to about 20 MPH on the shoulder the shaking stopped. I got out to inspect the tires and they were all fine. I immediately called my mechanic and he told me this used to be a common problem with Ford trucks a while ago and he heard that it had started to happen again.
The truck began shaking uncontrollably at approximately 70mph.. fortunately I was in the right lane , and traffic wasn’t very busy, and I was able to get the truck off the side of the road without creating an accident.. I have owned the truck since it was new, and have not experienced any issue until now! The truck has just over 40,000 miles on it. Took truck to dealership to be inspected and they said everything looks good.. but they also said that the part that I needed was on back order. At the current time I’m waiting on repairs to be made, but I am very uneasy about the safety of the vehicle now..
Truck is experiencing condition that is commonly referred to as the death wobble on the internet. Traveling at 50 plus miles an hour and hit a small bump in the road and the truck immediately begins to shake and vibrate uncontrollably. Only way to stop the shaking is to come to almost a complete stop. This is a very serious and dangerous condition. Imagine traveling down the highway at 60 miles an hour and having to come to almost a complete stop with other trucks and cars wizzing past you. Not to mention the car that has to take evasive action behind you to keep from running into your vehicle. This is a very real and serious defect with the Ford F250 that Ford needs to take immediate ownership and corrective action. When the vehicle is traveling over a certain speed and hits bumps or uneven road it loses control of the steering wheel.
As the vehicle is driven, it'll suddenly shake so violently, I can barely keep it straight, and my wife can barely hold on to the steering wheel. This 1st happened July 2020, and we thought it was the poor condition of the road...but since, we have almost been bounced off the road and were very fortunate there was no on coming traffic, so many times, my wife will not drive the truck....and the passengers who've been with us when this has happened , will not ride again in the vehicle....never were we driving over 65 when any of these incidents happen...typically around 50-55.....I originally thought the truck had rough suspension, because any time the road conditions were not perfect, this would happen in small increments, I thought it was the suspensions...but since July 2020, we have to try to pull the truck over (which is difficult as we have little...
Death wobble occurs on highway at speeds from 50mph to 75mph
The backup camera, located in the tailgate, is so distorted it is almost useless. In certain lighting, day and night, it is useless. The camera that looks into the truck bed - located at the top/back of the cab - is incredibly clear and visible. The problem lies in the backup camera. I have nearly hit multiple things due to the lack of visibility. Fortunately, I have not hit anything/had an accident. But the camera, along with the front camera (which is not as critical), is clearly faulty. The image is incredibly blurry. I have tried cleaning it, all research indicates the camera is not sealed well and moisture gets inside the camera. Replacing it with an OEM part does not solve the issue. Please recall these cameras before someone gets hurt.
When driving and you go over a slight bump in the road it makes your truck shake tremendously. I do not know if it is the suspension trying to over-correct it self but it is bad. When looking this issue up I have seen it called the Ford F250 "death wobble". I have yet to have this happen at speeds less than 50mph so this could possibly lead to a serious accident. I have made a video which I can submit for evidence (it is a MP4 file format). There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to when it will happen or how long it last.
Tail gate automatically opened and tail gate dropped multiple times while driving. It was raining when it happened
Death Wobble ... hit an uneven portion of the road and my truck began to shake violently. Quickly reduced speed and things returned to normal
Driving 75mph on freeway and front-end started shaking violently 2019 ford f250 could not be controlled almost caused a collision.
The rear backup camera has fogged up so much as to be useless and unviewable.
I was traveling down the highway at high speeds and my vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. I had to pull over to the side of the road and slow down for it to stop. On a separate occasion, the same thing happened...the steering wheel was shaking almost like the vehicle was seizing up.
Death wobble, Uncontrollable shaking going over bumps or 45+ miles per hour Has happened multiple times sense July 2021
While driving down the interstate, traveling at 65 MPH, after traversing a moderate bump in the road, the steering wheel started violently shaking. The only way to get the shaking to stop was to slow down to 40 MPH, 25 MPH below the posted speed limit. The inability to control the vehicle and the unsafe requirement to slow on a busy highway is a serious safety concern. This situation is wide lol y known as the Death Wobble.
My Ford F-250 2019 Shakes violently on random occasions when I am driving over 50 mph. No warning laps or messages show up prior. This incident has happened multiple times already. It happens when i'm driving on the highway. On this more recent incident I was on the highway with my pregnant wife and my 6 year old son and the vehicle started shaking violently and I nearly lost control for a moment on a busy highway in Miami FL. I was able to gain control and pull off safely onto the emergency lane. There are no recalls for this malfunction. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. This incident could have caused the life of my family and many others on this highway if i wouldnt have been able to gain control.
When truck was hit at rear lower corner of cab, rear driver side door came open. Door was locked and impact was at low speed, under 10mph.
While driving at highway speed (60-65MPH) on interstate highway, upon entering upon a bridge or overpass (and crossing over a small bump at the beginning of same), the front-end began to shake violently; said violent shaking only stopped after brakes were slammed on and speed was reduced to a crawl. This happened three times on a recent trip. Vehicle has been properly maintained, last serviced at Ford Dealer on 7/14/21. I experienced "death wobble" as described in hundreds of other complaints. Fortunately, I grip the wheel tightly and did not run off the road. This condition (apparently well-known to Ford) put my life and my wife's life in danger, as well as that of anyone driving behind me. Why hasn't NHTSA recalled this vehicle when this exact problem has been documented hundreds of times?
Experienced extreme steering wheel oscillation at 45 mph on freeway on-ramp. Oscillation was so extreme I had to pull off freeway and stop to regain normal steering control. Went to Ford dealership and they informed me I experienced the “Death Wobble “ That was the first time I had heard of the Death Wobble. Dealer replaced front steering dampener and recommended other linkage components be replaced. Steering Stabilizer was replaced under warranty 20NO4. Truck had 17429 miles. So after doing research on this I have found that it is a common problem from 2005-2019 Ford trucks and there has been no recall. This is a huge safety problem. Talk to a dealer service manger and explain you had extreme steering wheel oscillation on your Ford truck and they will say you have the “Death Wobble “. Not sure what would happen while towing a 10,000 lbs fifth wheel rv.
Driver hit a pothole in the road while driving at approx. 50 mph and the steering wheel started shaking violently. Driver slowed down immediately and the shaking stopped. Driver later went over a railroad track on the hwy. and reported the steering wheel started shaking violently again and the driver couldn't control the steering of the truck as it veered off the hwy. and almost hit a metal light post in the median of the hwy. The driver was able to apply brakes to stop since there was no traffic behind him. The driver and his passengers were not injured but scared (of course). There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the incident. The earliest appointment we can get with an authorized Ford dealer is over a week away. The problem will be checked out at that time.
when my headlights are on, many times my rear lights do not work. This has never been so when first turned on but they go off later (I have after market side marker lights on my truck so I can see this). If I move the headlight switch one direction or the other, they will come on, Then I can move it back and they will stay on. May not happen again for days, or may happen again in minutes. I spoke with the dealer, and they have no bulletins about this issue and can not address until they stop working all together. Since then I have been watching trucks of this body style and see them go past with headlights on, then I look in my mirror and many do not have any tail lights lit. In this week alone I have counted 17 trucks with no tail lights...
