THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEABLE AND WAS TOWED TO THE DRIVER'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DRIVER BELIEVED THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V399000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL); HOWEVER, SHE NEVER RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THIS INTEGRAL ELECTRICAL COMPONENT OF A FORMERLY $45,000 VEHICLE HAS BEEN DECLARED OBSOLETE BY FO MO CO. . IT CANNOT BE FOUND. THERE ARE NONE AVAILABLE...ANYWHERE. AT 76000 MILES THE SPARK PLUG BLEW OUT OF MY V10 EXCURSION. THE EXCURSION IS A 2000 MODEL YEAR AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE PLUGS HAVE NEVER BEEN CHANGED SINCE NEW. FORD WILL NOT FIX IT AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE WARRANTY COMPANY, (HERITAGE INSURANCE) WILL NOT COVER IT AS THEY SAY IT IS A DEFECT WITH THE DESIGN OF THE HEAD AND PLUGS FROM FORD. THEY SAY THERE IS NOT ENOUGH THREADS IN THE HEAD DESIGN. THIS SEEMS TO BE ECHOED ON THE INTERNET IN MANY FORUMS AND OTHER ARTICLES.
