Driving home from work, I noticed a warning light indicating that the car was overheating. I stopped and realized the coolant tank was empty, so I immediately put some coolant in and continued driving home. The next day, the car wouldn't start, and after I checked the engine oil, it was contaminated with water. I called a Ford dealer for repair, and they don't want to take responsibility.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the exterior light housing assemblies were filled with water. The contact stated that the lights became inoperable. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer nor independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified on the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
The brake light in the rear spoiler stopped functioning.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that he had noticed a crack in the rear tail light bar located at the top edge of the hatchback liftgate. The contact stated that he had not hit any objects and had not noticed any impact marks. The contact stated that the crack was located in the middle of the tail light bar. The contact stated that when it rains the hatchback tail light fills with water and the contact was concerned that the water intrusion could lead to a short circuit. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear tail light assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
Condensation build up in tail lights in which causes other drivers not to visibly see when braking during the day.
The headlights are so dim that the vehicle is almost unsafe to drive at night time. This is especially true while driving in rain or snow at night. I have different strengths of headlights nothing helps. My family is at the point of not wanting to ride anywhere with me in the vehicle at night time. This past weekend it was raining when we left family and driving 20 miles in rain and night on low beam my girlfriend said she will never ride again at night. We live in an area where deer and other animals are often near the road at night time. This 2018 Ford Edge has even me a military veteran almost too scared to drive the vehicle at night time!! PLEASE HELP make Ford remedy this problem before people die!!! There seems to be some sort of opaque lens in front of the low beam...
Moisture in rear tail lights and rear reflector on tailgate. Moisture is excessive and Causing streaks and puddles to form in tail lights. Water and Moisture blocks and distorts light from brake lights and tail lights lowering visibility of these lights which could result in accident.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IS MY MAIN CONCERN WITH THIS COMPLAINT. WE LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE THERE ARE MANY ANIMALS THAT CAN AND ARE OUT ON THE ROAD. I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SEE BETTER DURING THE NIGHT TIME HOURS. THE NORMAL HEADLIGHTS FEEL AS IF THEY DAYLIGHTS ARE ON. THE HIGH BEAMS ARE EVEN TOO DIM. I FEEL LIKE THE HIGH BEAMS ARE THE BRIGHTNESS THAT THE NORMAL LIGHTS SHOULD BE.
HEADLIGHTS DON'T SHINE ON THE ROAD VERY WELL. THERE NO ADJUSTMENT SCREWS TO CORRECT.
I JUST PURCHASED A NEW 2018 FORD EDGE. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM WITH NIGHT DRIVING, THEY ARE UNSAFE. SHOWS BARELY ENOUGH LIGHT ( NO BRIGHTER THAN A STREET LIGHT). YOU CAN BARELY FOLLOW THE CENTER LINE. AFTER 100 YEARS IN BUSINESS, YOU WOULD THINK THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT WHEN PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE. I THINK THE LOW BEAM LIGHTING SHOULD BE REPLACED WHAT A BRIGHTER LED LIGHTING. I'M CONCERNED WITH MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILY SAFETY. I CAN NOT SEE HOW HIS WAS OVERLOOKED BY THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF MAKING SURE A CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE IN ALL CONDITIONS.
THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS ON A DIM MODE. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT'S AS BRIGHT AS THE LIGHT GET. I ALSO LOOKED UP IF OTHER OWNERS AND DRIVERS ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THEIR HEAD LIGHTS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE EITHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE ASKED MY DEAL WHAT IT WOULD COST TO HAVE BRIGHTER BULBS PUT IN. THEY TOLD ME THAT FORD DOESN'T HAVE BRIGHTER BULBS. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $399.00 TO HAVE THEM BUY OUTSIDE OF FORD AND HAVE THEM PUT THEM IN FOR ME . PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS IT SEEMS TO BE A ISSUE FOR A FEW YEARS. THANK YOU I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU. [XXX] CELLPHONE NUMBER [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)....
THE LOW BEAM HALOGEN HEADLAMPS ARE INADEQUATE. CAN'T SEE A THING AT NIGHT, IF IT'S RAINING YOU MAY AS WELL PARK THE VEHICLE. THE LIGHTS MAY BE BRIGHT TO LOOK AT THE CAR, BUT THEY DO NOTHING TO LIGHT UP THE ROADWAY. IF YOU DRIVE UNDER A STREET LAMP, THE HEADLAMP IS NO LONGER VISIBLE ON THE ROAD. THIS IS THE FIRST CAR I'VE OWNED THAT THE HEAD LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD MORE THAN A STREET LIGHT. I SEE THEY GET A POOR RATING FROM THE INSURANCE INSTITUTE FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO WEAK THAT WHEN THE ROAD IS WET AT NIGHT OR WHEN DRIVING NEAR AMBIENT LIGHTING SUCH AS STREET LIGHTS YOU CAN'T SEE ANY MARKINGS ON THE ROAD SUCH AS THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD. THERE IS ALSO EXHAUST FUMES COMING INTO THE CAR WHEN DRIVING WITH THE WINDOWS UP OR SLIGHTLY ROLLED DOWN AND WHEN THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM IS IN RECIRCULATING MODE. THESE FUMES MAKE ME DIZZY AND CAUSE ME TO HAVE BLURRY VISION. I ALMOST COMPLETELY BLACKED OUT TWICE ALREADY AND I OWNED THIS CAR FOR THREE WEEKS. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT FORD EDGE HAD THESE PROBLEMS AND THE SALESMAN OF COURSE NEVER MENTIONED THEM. THESE PROBLEMS WITH THE EXHAUST HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY UNDER 20 MPH AND AT HIGHER SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE RECIRCULATING MODE IS ON WITH OR WITHOUT THE AIR CONDITIONING TURNED ON. I HAVE DRIVEN WITH...
