My 2019 Ford Ecosport started running rough around the middle of June 2023. I thought it was time for a tune up. The car didn’t display any warning lights on the dashboard. I kept driving it and made a appointment with Firestone for a tuneup and oil change because the oil change was coming due soon. Before I could go to that appointment my car’s engine started making more noise. I called a friend who is an A tech to look at my car. He said yes that this was a known problem with the Ford Ecosport 1.0 engine. The cooling line leaks antifreeze into the engine and causes the problem with the oil pump leading to no oil pressure. According to 4 mechanics who said there has to be a recall because The system time chain in the engine has to be replaced but the vehicle has not even reached the mileage to require. They all suspect a recall. Ford dealership- said "they would not do an oil change because the engine could blow up on their guys" The car has been maintained more then regularly through Ford, and never once throughout the service was there any arising issues with the engine during their diagnostics done every 3 weeks.

I was driving when my oil light came on. I traveled approximately 6 miles and stopped. I checked my oil and still had some in the reserve so I traveled on. I called a repair shop and was on my way there when my engine light came on and i lost power. Now I am being told i have to replace my engine. It only has 64K miles.

I have been told that it is do to a broken oil pump belt tensioner and that the motor is now locked up and hasto be replaced. No warning of any issues that would require such an expensive fix at such a low mileage. Known flaw in these vehicles yet Ford isn’t being forced to recall and fix the issue that is clearly their fault not customers. Unacceptable! Should be mandatory recall to replace this garbage engine that conveniently needs replace 10,000 miles AFTER warranty runs out. Dangerous to have engine power issues at 55 mph!

Now the Ford dealer said is an TSB on my car and I need to call Ford Company because my extended warranty is expired. The report from dealer said that is an SSM 49918 For loss of engine oil pressure.

Since I leased this car, I’ve had three transmission replacements, a full wiring harness replacement, numerous electrical issues with the display, and now can’t drive it due to engine low oil pressure. This car is nothing but a nightmare.

Oil pump belt shredded without warning at 62,000 miles causing complete engine failure while driving in traffic. Multiple warning lights illuminated, but failure was abrupt and immediate. Car was performing normally and then within a matter of seconds I experienced complete loss of power. Vehicle is presently at the Ford garage. Ford representative told us that the belt for the oil pump shredded and caused loss of oil pressure which lead to a complete loss of power.

NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AFTER BEING HIT TWICE BY SEMI TRUCK AND CAR WAS TOTALED .

I WAS A STOP LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT LET ME RESTART IT. AFTER AWHILE AND A FEW WARNING SYSTEMS THE VEHICLE FINALLY TURNED OVER. AFTER THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO RUN A DIAGNOSTICS WHICH I WAS UNABLE TO SEE. AS I BEGIN TO DRIVE AGAIN THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL CUTS OFF AND CAUSES ME TO TEMPORARILY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS I'M REGAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE THE TRACTION CONTROL TAKES OVER AGAIN AND HELPS ME OUT. I'M NOT SURE AS TO WHAT HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE STILL WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO GET BACK TO ME. BUT WHATEVER IT WAS IT WASN'T SAFE AND PUT ME IN A DANGEROUS SPOT DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC

WHILE ON A LONG TRIP I STOPPED ON A SERVICE AREA. WHEN I GOT OFF THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A STRONG HEAT SMELL. WHEN OPEN HOOD I NOTICED TURBO WAS GLOWING RED TOT ALL THE WAY BELOW OXIGEN SENSOR.

WEIRD BURN MARKS HAVE APPEARED ON THE TOP OF MY MUFFLER. I BOUGHT THE CAR ON MARCH 15TH, 2019. I FIRST NOTICED IT ON APRIL 21ST, 2019 (SEE CAR DOC 2 PHOTO). I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT ON MAY 8TH, WHEN IT WAS DETERMINED IT WAS JUST A COSMETIC PROBLEM. IT WAS REPLACED ON MAY 15TH. TODAY, MAY 24TH, 2019, I LOOKED AT IT AND SAW THE SAME PROBLEM STARTING AGAIN (SEE CAR DOC 3 PHOTO). A REPRESENTATIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY SAW ANOTHER ECOSPORT WITH THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NO ONE CAN IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. I'M GROWING CONCERNED AS IT LOOKS TO BE A BURN, OR SOME KIND OF REACTION WITH MATERIALS.
