EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CAB VIA THE HEATER-A/C FRESH AIR INTAKE. DOES NOT DO THIS WHEN THE "RECIRCULATION" MODE IS USED. I'VE HAD AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND THREE DIFFERENT DODGE DEALER SHOPS CHECK FOR THE PROBLEM. THE FIRST THREE SHOPS COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. THE LAST SHOP SAID THERE WAS A SMALL LEAK IN THE EGR VALVE ASSEMBLY. I HAD DEALERSHIP SHOP (LITHIA DODGE OF ROSEBURG,OR) REPLACE THE EGR VALVE/COOLER ASSEMBLY (AT A COST OF $1,068.84). THIS DID NOT CURE OR REDUCE THE PROBLEM. MY FEELING IS SINCE THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, IT MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SMOG SYSTEM-MOST LIKELY THE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER OPERATION. I DO KNOW THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THIS YEAR DIESEL TRUCK PROBLEM. IS THERE A CURE??? ALSO, THE TRUCK DOES NOT HAVE ANY BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPE. I HAVE ALWAYS USED THE CORRECT OIL...
TURBO WENT OUT SOON AFTER I BOUGHT IT HAD ABOUT 5000 MILES THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. ALWAYS HAVE TO REGENERATE. IN JUNE COMPUTER CRASHED IN JULY THE CLUTCH GOES OUT NOW THE TURBO HAS GONE OUT AGAIN AND READING ABOUT COULD BE A BAD DPF THAT DODGE KNOWS ABOUT. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 119000 MILES I BOUGHT IT NEW PAID ALOT OF MONEY FOR IT . NOT HAPPY LOST ALOT OF WORK AND LOSING MORE BECAUSE OF TURBO ISSUE CANT AFFORD AA NEW ONE OR I WOULD CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP SPENDING THIS KIND OF MONEY ON IT. DODGE HAS TO KNOW ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING 2007 DODGE RAM 2500 MEGA CAB 5.9L I6 CUMMINS DIESEL NOTICED SMOKE EMITTING FROM REAR OF VEHICLE, STOPPED VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED FUEL RUNNING OUT OF VEHICLE BELOW ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE #4 CYLINDER FUEL INJECTOR LINE FROM THE COMMON RAIL WAS CRACKED AND SPRAYING FUEL OVER THE ENGINE AND SOAKING HOOD AND FIREWALL INSULATION AS WELL AS ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AND EXHAUST. THE RETENTION BRACKET FOR THIS LINE HAD BECOME LOOSE DUE TO VIBRATION WHICH LEAD TO THE LINE CRACKING. AS A RESULT OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ISSUE I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A SEEMINGLY INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, MORE SO IN THE 2006 AND 2007 MODEL YEARS, THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF BUT HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT. AT THE VERY LEAST, A TSB SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED TO INFORM OWNERS OF THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF TRACTION AND POTENTIAL FIRE RESULTING IN...
MY 2007 DODGE RAM BLEW A TIPM A/C UNIT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER IT WAS BECAUSE THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR CLUTCH LOCKED UP AND BURNED OUT THE TIPM. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS DENIED.I PAID $1500.00 TO GET THIS FIXED THIS WEEK. THE OTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND MY TRUCK STARTED VIBRATING AND COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A VERY BUSY ROAD. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I WAS TOLD IT HAD A FOREIGN SUBSTANCE IN THE DIESEL FUEL. IT SMELLED LIKE PAINT THINNER. THE WARRANTY REP SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY DIRT IN MY FUEL TANK CAUSED BY NOT CHANGING MY FUEL FILTER FREQUENTLY. NOW THEY TELL ME IT NEEDS 6 FUEL INJECTORS AND A FUEL PUMP TOTAL COST $8000.00. BY THE DEALER AND WARRANTY REP. THE TRUCK HAS 67000 MILES.THEY SAID THIS IS NOT WARRANTY ISSUE AND WILL NOT BE COVERED....
2007 DODGE RAM 2500. CONSUMER REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS CONCERNING DIESEL FUEL AND ENGINE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, HE BEGAN TO SMELL DIESEL FUEL. HE THEN NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE STARTED GOING DOWN. SMOKE STARTING EMITTING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, SO HE QUICKLY PULLED OVER TO THE NEXT REST STOP AREA. THE CONSUMER RAISED THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED FUEL ALL OVER THE ENGINE, UNDER THE TRUCK AND ON THE TRAVEL TRAILER HE WAS PULLING. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHERE HE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE #4 INJECTOR LINE WHICH WAS LEAKING. *JB
INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) ALLEN SAMUELS DODGE IN WACO DECLINED TO FIX MY DODGE RAM 2500 WITH 39,000 MI. THEY SAID AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER THAT THERE WAS WATER IN MY DIESEL. THAT IS ALL THEY HAD TO COME UP WITH TO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PROBLEM WITH WARRENTY. I HAVE 100,000 MI. WARRENTY ON DRIVETRAIN, WHICH IS REALLY NO GOOD IF YOU CAN'T USE IT. I THINK DODGE SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ADVERTISE ON TV FOR 100,000 MI. WARRENTY WHEN THEY KNOW THEY CAN GET OUT OF WARRENTING THE VEHICLE. THAT IS A BULL [XXX] LINE NOT TO PAY. THIS COST ME 4,322.91. THEY SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE ALL 6 INJECTORS TO FIX MY PROBLEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO A HOLE IN THE FUEL LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. UPDATED 04/05/10 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE FULE LINE TO THE #4 CYLINDER HAS A PLASTIC SUPPORT THAT VIBRATES LOOSE AND RUBS A HOLE INTO THE METAL FUEL LINE. WE OWN A 2007 DODGE RAM 2500 6.7 LITER DIESEL 4 X4 TRUCK, BOUGHT WITH 7311 MILES AND A FULL WARRANTY. WE BOUGHT IN JANUARY 2008. IT HAS NUMEROUS ISSUES THAT MAKE ME LITERALLY VOMIT WHEN I HAVE TO DRIVE IT. WE HAVE HAD 6 REPAIRS TO THIS VEHICLE SINCE JUNE 2008 FOR EMISSION/TURBO/WIRING/TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS TRUCK AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY HAVE "FIXED" IT EVERYTIME. A VEHICLE THAT LOSES ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION POWER ON THE HIGHWAY IS NOT A SAFE MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. THEY ALWAYS TELL ME IT IS "BEING TAKEN CARE OF BY DODGE RECALL/COMPUTER FLASHES, BUT THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. 2007 DODGE RAM 2500 W/ 6.7 DIESEL HAS MAJOR PROBLEM WITH EXHAUST SYSTEM, A DPF (DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER) CLOGS UP IN AS EARLY AS 2500 MILES AND CLOGS CONTINUOUSLY IF VEHICLE IS NOT (DRIVEN LIKE YOU STOLE IT) AS SUGGESTED TO ME BY DEALER, THIS PROBLEM INCREASES EXHAUST TEMPS, AND CAUSES VEHICLE TO CUT OUT AND HESITATE ON TAKE OFFS AND REQUIRES CONSTANT REPAIR AT THE DEALER, THERE ARE AFTERMARKET PARTS TO FIX PROBLEM BUT IT IS RECOMMENDED FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY. CALLED DEALER 09/15/07, "CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT BACK ON FOR LONGER THAN 3 DAYS, THEY SAID NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT AS LONG AS THE LIGHT WAS NOT FLASHING OR STAYING ON. CALLED THEM 09/27/07, TOOK TRUCK BACK 10/03/07, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES P2262, THEY PERFORMED CARBON CLEARING PROCEDURE.
