I UNDERSTAND CHRYSLER HAS FINALLY ADMITTED TO THE "DEATH WOBBLE" 2003-2011 PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS, THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE THE MID 1990 MODELS AND NOW WE WHO OWN AND MAINTAIN THOSE MODELS ARE LEFT OUT AND ARE STILL HAVING THE PROBLEMS. IT WAS THEIR PROBLEM IN THE BEGINNING AND THEY REFUSED TO CORRECT IT. I, AT MY EXPENSE HAD THE PROBLEM REPAIRED IN 2010 AND ONCE AGAIN THE PROBLEM CONTINUES PEOPLE ARE STILL DRIVING THE OLDER MODELS AND ARE STILL AT RISK. A DODGE WILL LAST FOREVER IF IT IS TAKEN CARE OF, THAT IN MIND DODGE SHOULD RECALL ALL THE 90'S MODELS ALSO, IT IS NOT RIGHT. PEOPLE CAN DIE IN ACCIDENTS INVOLVING THE OLDER VEHICLE. ALSO!!! HOW MANY ACCIDENTS, THAT MAY HAVE RESULTED IN DEATH HAVE THERE BEEN AS A RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM. HOW MANY INVOLVED VEHICLES IN THE 1990 RANGE BEFORE DODGE FINALLY ADMITTED...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH OVER BUMPY ROAD SURFACES, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY. IN ORDER TO STOP THE SHAKING, THE VEHICLE WOULD BE SLOWED DOWN TO 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED NEW BALL JOINTS. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BALLS JOINTS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TIE ROD, STEERING DAMPENER, PITMAN ARM, FRONT AXLE U-JOINT, AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. SM.
2007 DODGE 2500 DIESEL [DEATH WOBBLE] WHEN COMING TO A BRIDGE OR LIP IN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEED VEHICLE STARTS JUMPING VIOLENTLY UNTIL SPEED IS REDUCE. *KB
I HAVE A 2007 DODGE RAM 2500 PICKUP. I HAVE EXPERIENCED A WOBBLE IN THE FRONT END. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM ABOVE 50 MPH AND GO ACROSS A CHANGE IN THE ROAD SURFACE. THE SHAKE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL MY SPEED DROPS BELOW 30 MPH. IT IS A VERY VIOLENT SHAKE THAT ALMOST SENDS ME OFF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAS 74000 MILES ON IT, AND I THOUGHT IT MAY BE THE TIRES SINCE THE ONES ON IT WERE THE ORIGINAL TIRES. I HAD BRAND NEW BF GOODRICH TIRES PUT ON IT, AND IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I CALL THE DEALER ABOUT THIS, AND THEY SAID IT COULD BE THE TIE ROD ENDS, DAMPENER, OR BALL JOINTS. HE WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT DIDN'T HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME. *TR
FRONT END WOBBLE/VIBRATION DURING MODERATE SPEED DRIVING. AFTER ACCELERATING TO 55-60 MPH, FRONT END BEGINS TO WOBBLE AND SHAKE-- SOMETIMES VIOLENTLY TO INTERFERE AND CAUSE VEHICLE TO BECOME UNSTABLE AT SPEED. REDUCING SPEED HELPS BUT ONLY SOME. HAVE HAD FRONT END ALIGNED, RE-ALIGNED, NEW TIRES, NEW SHOCKS, ETC BUT NO REPAIR HAS COMPLETELY FIXED THE PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE INFAMOUS "DODGE DEATH WOBBLE" NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS. I HAVE A 2007 2500 DODGE RAM TRUCK THAT I BOUGHT USED A YEAR AGO. THREE MONTHS AGO, DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 65 MPH I CAME UPON A BRIDGE APPROACH SLAB AND ONCE I HIT IT THE TRUCK BEGAN VIOLENTLY SHAKING. AFTERWARDS I DID RESEARCH ON THE ISSUE AND DISCOVERED WHAT I EXPERIENCED MATCHED WHAT IS KNOWN AS THE "DODGE DEATH WOBBLE". I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THEY SAID DODGE HAS ISSUED A REPAIR BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE HOWEVER ALSO SAID THAT THEY DO NOT BELIEVE THE REPAIRS DODGE RECOMMENDS FIXES THE PROBLEM. (THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE ALSO SUPPORTS THAT COMMENT). ON NOVEMBER 21 WHILE TRAVELING FOR THANKSGIVING I EXPERIENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" FIVE TIMES WITHIN AN HOUR. I WAS TRAVELING ALONG INTERSTATE 10 AT 65-75 MPH AND EVERY BUMP, BRIDGE APPROACH...
I HAVE A 2007 DODGE RAM 2500 MEGA CAB DIESEL. I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND HAVE HAD THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. I HAVE WHAT IS MOST COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" OR "DEATH SHAKE". I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO DODGE AND PAID TO HAVE THEM FIX THE PROBLEM ONLY TO BE TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK IS COMPLETELY STOCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE AFTER MARKET REPLACEMENT SHOCKS I HAD PUT ON TO HOPEFULLY FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SHOCKS DID NOTHING TO FIX THE VIOLENT SHAKING. BASICALLY, WHEN I GET THE TRUCK UP TO AROUND 60 MPH AND HIT ANY SMALL BUMP OR POT HOLE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT ON THE ROADWAY THE TRUCK BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND MAKES LOUD KNOCKING NOISES. (2007 DODGE 2500 6.7L CUMMINS) (50,000 MILES) AT ANY SPEED IN EXCESS OF 50MPH A SEVERE AND VIOLENT SHAKE IS EXPERIENCED WHEN A BUMP/POTHOLE/BREAK IN PAVEMENT IS STRUCK. THIS CAUSES LOSE OF CONTROL AND DOES NOT CORRECT UNTIL VEHICLE SPEED FALLS BELOW 40 MPH. I HAVE OWNED VEHICLE ONLY A MONTH AND HAVE SPENT IN EXCESS OF $1300. I OWN A 2007 DODGE RAM 2500 4WD QUAD CAB LONG WHEEL BASE PICKUP TRUCK. THE STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE IS BEST DESCRIBED AS RIDICULOUS FOR THE PRICE YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TRUCK, NOT TO MENTION HOW DANGEROUS IT IS. MY PROBLEMS STARTED BEFORE THE TRUCK EVEN REACHED 20,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE TRUCK FROM REPLACED THE TIE ROD ENDS UNDER WARRANTY, AND THAT HELPED FOR A FEW THOUSAND MILES, BUT DIDN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I ATTEMPTED CHANGING THE TIRES AND WHEELS FOR A SET OF AFTERMARKET ONES AROUND 45-50K MILES AND THAT'S WHEN THE "DEATH WOBBLE" STARTED. I WAS TRAVELING IN THE FAST LANE OF A 3 LANE INTERSTATE AT AROUND 70MPH, AND LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE INTERSTATE SHORTLY AFTER IT STARTED. I COULD NOT REGAIN TOTAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP! I'M JUST LUCKY IT WASN'T...
I WAS DRIVING TO TOWN (APPROX. 4 MILES) WHEN I HIT 50 MPH. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AFTER HITTING A MINOR IRREGULARITY IN THE ROAD. I THEN SLOWED TO APPROX. 30 MPH TO MAKE IT GO AWAY.
