TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE TENSIONER HANGED FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TENSIONER WAS RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

MULTIPLE TIMES THE TRUCK HAS JUST DIED. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE RUNS JUST FINE AND STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. YESTERDAY THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. WHEN IT DIES YOU LOOSE ALL POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. WHILE BACKING MY DODGE DURANGO ONTO BOAT RAMP TO TAKE A JETSKI OUT OF THE WATER, I LOST ALL BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP FROM GOING IN THE WATER. AFTER INSPECTING THE BRAKE LINES I NOTICED THEY RUSTED ALL THE WAY THRU AND CAUSED ALL FLUID TO LEAK OUT RESULTING IN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES. A REPAIR STATION ESTIMATED 1500 TO 2000 TO REPLACE BRAKE LINES, AND SAID IT IS COMMON ON DURANGOS AND DAKOTAS DUE TO BAD METAL LINES FROM FACTORY. THEY ALSO SAID BRAKE LINES SHOULD NOT RUST OUT LIKE THIS AND IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN FATALITIES WITH ALL THE AFFECTED MODELS STILL ON THE ROAD. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE GOING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT HAND, HIP, AND RIB. THE CONTACT AND HER CHILD WHO WAS IN THE REAR MIDDLE SEAT WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE. THE CONTACT'S CHILD SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE SHOULDER FROM THE CHILD SEAT STRAPS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AWAY FROM THE SCENE AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP. PRIOR TO THE CRASH WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH ,THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SLID AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE...
