All Fuel System Gasoline Complaints
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FILL THE TANK WITH GAS, EVEN ON NEAR-EMPTY TANK, GAS PUMP CLICKS OFF AND GAS SPILLS OUT AND RUNS DOWN THE BODY OF THE CAR ONTO THE GROUND. DODGE ISSUED A RECALL FOR DURANGO AND OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES FOR A FAULTY CHECK VALVE IN THE TANK BUT NOT FOR MY CAR (CARAVAN). I'D LIKE TO LODGE A COMPLAINT. DODGE TELLS ME THAT FIXING THIS PROBLEM WILL COST ME $1720 FOR A NEW GAS TANK. I BELIEVE DODGE SHOULD FIX IT FOR ME BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS TO HAVE GAS SPILL OUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO FILL. *TR
06 DODGE CARAVAN (FMI HANDICAP CONVERSION)- ISSUE SPEWING GASOLINE: >FILLED UP APPROX 9AM AUG 4TH 2011 > PARKED AT RESIDENCE > 2PM PREPARING TO GO OUT-OF-TOWN > HEARD HUMMING FROM LEFT REAR > NOTICED GAS CAP APPEAR "CROSS-THREADED" & WAS "HISSING" > ME IN A ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR, PARKED FACING CAP > MY SON TURNED CAP > GAS SPEWED OUT LIKE A FIRE HYDRANT POINT BLANK IN MY FACE > GAS DID NOT JUST SPRAY, IT SPEWED OUT OVER A HALF A TANK, SPEWING IT 18-20 FEET, LASTING ABOUT A MINUTE. > DODGE MFG SRV CTR SAID (TROY), "NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED IT, WE THINK IT WAS A CLOSED SOLENOID PURGE VALVE CAUSE MECH BLEW IN IT & COULDN'T GET NO AIR THROUGH IT" > I SAID "YOU THINK?!" > HE (TROY) STATED..."ALL WE CAN SAY IS, GO FILL IT UP, DRIVE IT AROUND, & SEE IF IT DOES IT AGAIN"...
