It stalls to turn on even when I changed everything from, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, heater pumps, alternator, new battery. And it still won’t turn on it’s been happening for 4 months now. And I changed things that were recommended. I do my oil change every time I need as well.

The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while at a complete stop on several occasions, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart on some occasions; however, the vehicle failed to restart on other occasions and was towed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure could not be duplicated. In Oct of 2024 My driver's side window shattered out of nowhere for no apparent reason! I heard this really loud boom then the window shattered ! I took it in the have the regulator replaced and the window. I also put a windshield in it at that time as well. Then in August of 2025 not even a year later and once again my window shattered and my winshield cracked. This time i was driving on the freeway and I heard a big pop the crash and in tiny pieces mof glass fell in to the door driver's side window .

I wrote before about the electrical issue. My husband jumped started my car On 8/28/24. I drove down to my church for a Women's Bible Study. I was there for 2 1/2 hours. When I went to leave my car would not start. I called my son. He jump started my car for me. As I was about to leave after a few minutes my car quit running. As the car was running every electrical component on the dash was going haywire, the heater fan was going full blast, but the windows would not go up. That was irritating as it started to rain. Had to cover the windows. Left the car in parking lot. Next day after church my husband tried to start the car. The car turned over and the battery light was on. Brande new battery was put in that week, As the following we thought that...

Over 2 yrs now the electrical has been haywire. In driveway the interior lights on dash lights come on and and doors lock and unlock. Driving down road on dash tells you that must put car in park to engage. Lift gate ajar. Heater turns on and off full blast front and back fans. Side doors do not work/ or work when they want to work. Battery brand new gets drained and needs to be charged 1 every month. Had alternator changed. Still does the same thing. I call this my possessed van. At my wits end. Spent much money trying to find out problem unable to locate. Changed fuses did not help. This is my second town and country. I never had a problem with my first one which was a much older model that is why I got another one. Now I am rethinking about getting another town...

2011 Town and Country started stalling while driving up to 40mph! The problem is intermitten and unable to be diagnosed by mechanic. This happens in the middle of traffic and power steering is lost. This is a known problem and was recalled in the several years before mine. This is a safety issue to everyone on the road and is a matter of time before there is an accident.
#11582650 | Fire
Van was sitting in driveaway in front of my house. We noticed smoke coming from rear of the vehicle and then saw flames. Contacted 911. Fire department arrived to put out the fire. They said something appeared to have shorted or exploded inside the driver side rear wall panel. Just below the rear window vent in the area of the 3 row speakers and cup holders. It burned down the exterior of the van near the gas cap.

The manufacturer representative inspected the vehicle and advised the contact that the fire was not caused due to faulty Chrysler parts. The fire origin was unknown. The manufacturer was...

The van has a problem accelerating and also seems to stall while driving on the expressway before jumping quickly into acceleration there was a bad storm in Buffalo that I believe contributed to the problems of the Chrysler van

During random times; starting cold, starting warm, coming to a stop, accelarating, on city surface streets or on the freeway, after long drives or just going down the street; the minivan would stall and not restart. Fortunately able to coast to side of road on occassion. Non start condition would last between 15 minutes to days. This last event occured while turning in a busy intersection. Blocked cars and buses in all four directions on a Friday afternoon rush hour, putting ourselves and others at serious risk. There were no warning lights or anything other than a brief shudder before stalling. Roadside service called 911 first to get us out of the way. Towed to local mechanic who duplicated event and found that two separate recalls for faulty fuel pump relay was issued for other models but not our minivan. This family vehicle is now a liability if the fuel...

After most of the major electrical components were replaced a new battery, alternator and computer. Ran for a week then just died for no reason had to be jump started just to get it moving. Also the lane blind spot detectors are in a very bad place and are subject to weather and broke.

Upon leaving work my battery (only installed for 3 months) was completely dead. After a co-worker jumped my van off I went straight to Advanced and had them check the battery. It showed something was still on/running however the keys were in my hand and absolutely nothing was on or plugged in. He went ahead and replaced my battery. The next day I went out on errands and it started fine. That evening I was taking my family out to dinner and it would not start. It would crank but not start. I put it in neutral and back into park and it did manage to start. The following morning I went out and it would only crank. It would not start and the lightening bolt symbol and check engine light came on. First we changed the throttle body sensor (as indicated by the light). It still wouldn't start. After...

The TIPM is failing, not allowing the van to start when it gets so cold out. We were quoted $2000 to get it repaired. We found an article stating this is a common issue and was being repaired by Chrysler.

Going down the road 55 mh van quit rear hatch and sliding side doors unlocked and opened van will not start. These vans were recalled for something like this in the previous years. This one should have been recalled to

"P0740" OBD2 code, causing vehicle to Fail state Safety Inspection. issue is due to a defect within the transmission, very common with the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. "Dealer Only Repair" , very costly. Serious Safety Issue. Vehicle cannot be diagnosed by most Certified Mechanics. this faulty reading could mask very serious issues with the Transmission. This issue needs to be expedited to review ASAP. Thank You.

When we bought the vehicle the battery kept dying. The dealership installed a new battery and it kept happening. They eventually said that the fuel pump was not shutting down when the vehicle was turned off and they said they fixed the problem. Fast forward a couple years and the vehicle would not start. Took it to a trusted mechanic who diagnosed it needed a new computer. He said it is a well known problem with this vehicle and asked if we ever had the doors open on their on (we have). That is part of the computer problem and so is the fuel pump issue stated above. When I told the mechanic about the initial issue he checked the fuel pump and found that the dealership didn't address the actual problem They used shoddy wiring to bypass the fuel pump. He said the wiring was so loose that it...

1) Dash board lite up like a christmas tree, would not turn over. 2) Next time no lights would come on, completely dead. Turning the key over did nothing, no lights. Key would also get stuck in the ignition 3) They determined it was the powertrain control PCM 4) Originally the part was like $800, they messed on troubleshooting (fried my battery). They knocked the price of the part down to $517

2011 Chrysler town and country, starts then shuts off after two seconds. Check engine light came on last night. Remote start disabled. Vehicle will not start via push button, must use key fob in place of pushbutton. Again remote start will not work. Vehicle starts and shuts off right away. From research done, cause being TIPM OR FUEL RELAY.

The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start-up. In addition, there was an abnormal exploding noise coming from the vehicle while driving approximately 40 to 50 MPH. The contact mentioned that the windshield wipers failed to operate occasionally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that wireless ignition and WIN module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
#11441446 |
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently fail to start up after multiple attempts. The contact would then take the key out of the ignition and press the auto start button on the key fob for the vehicle to start without incident. Upon investigation, the contact's son related that failure to a defective TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) which needed to be replaced. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

Vehicle would lose power. First problem was while at the gas station with my children (age 4 and 1) and with the key in the cup holder, the doors locked on their own. I had to call my husband to bring spare key. The next issue was the vehicle battery drained and had to get jumped. The last issue was the vehicle would not turn on. All of the lights turned on but would not crank over.Took it to my local dealership and was advised that the TIPM failed.

The contact’s daughter owns a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH up an incline, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home where he inspected the vehicle. The contact discovered that the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact spoke to an independent mechanic who informed him that there was no recall on the vehicle and that he was unaware of any issues with the TIPM. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.

I don't know much about vehicles. So when I get the obd scanned to make sure things are good to sell my van and it throws back many error codes, I was surprised. I thought the vibration/shaking was minor or just because I only had 4 out 6 engine mounts replaced. I was told the tipm was bad, the transmission, the tire pressure sensors don't work. The eco drive doesn't work. I was told that there was a problem with mine that was recalled but only on half of the vehicles and my vin wasn't one of them recalled even though it's the same problem. I was told the main fuse panel under the hood needs replaced. From what I was told, all the needed repairs will cost about as much as I paid for the vehicle itself. There have been lights on the dash since a few days after...

MY TIPM IS FAILING SLOWLY. MY STARTER IS PULLING WAY TO MANY AMPS WHEN STARTING. I'VE CHANGED IT TWICE. MY FUEL RELAY HAS FAILED. A LOT OF THE TIMES WHEN I START MY CAR I HAVE AN ICON FOR MY ABS SENSOR COME ON AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT OFF IS TO PULL OVER AND RESTART MY CAR. WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON ON MY DASH. MY CAR WON'T DRIVE OVER 60MPH AND MY RPMS WILL RUN HIGH AND WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS WHILE IT'S DOING THIS IT WILL TAKE YOU ALMOST TO A STOP WITHIN SECONDS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER GOES OFF. AND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES IT GETS TESTED AND RESET IT COMES BACK WITHIN HOURS. SO MY AUTO START NEVER WORKS. SOMETIMES WHEN I START MY CAR I CAN'T GET MY SEATBELT ALARM TO STOP SINGING SO I HAVE TO PULL...

2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY WITH 114,212 MILES. WHILE PARKED, THE CAR ACTS AND SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO, BUT WILL NOT START. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) AND FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THE SAME ISSUE IN RECALL P54/NHTSA 14V-530 FOR THE DURANGO AND GRAND CHEROKEE LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT BUT FOR SOME REASON THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AND OTHER CHRYSLERS PETITIONS WERE DENIED. AFTER TALKING TO CHRYSLER, THEY ONLY SUGGESTED THAT I KEEP MY RECEIPTS IN CASE IT WAS ACCEPTED AS A RECALL BUT WOULD NOT GIVE ANY FINANCIAL HELP ON A $1400 REPAIR BILL.

WHEN LOCKING AND UNLOCKING DOOR LOUD BUZZING SOUND
#11386481 |
THIS MUST BE A RECALL CONCERN. CHRYSLER REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THIS TIPM ISSUE. THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM WAS A DEFECTIVE TIPM THAT PREVENTED THE ENGINE FROM STARTING. THIS VAN FAILS WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. TODAY 1-4-21, THE VAN IS AGAIN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN AND AGAIN I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. THE TOWN & COUNTRY WOULD BE RUNNING SMOOTHLY ONE DAY AND FAIL TO START THE NEXT DAY. WHY RECALL CONCERNING THEM WAS NEVER ISSUED????
#11385611 |
THERE IS A BUZZING NOISE IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR THAT HAPPENS SOMETIMES WHEN I OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OR UNLOCK THE DOORS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.

THE "WIRELESS IGNITION NODE RECEIVER" ON OUR 2011 CHYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY BROKE IN OCTOBER 2019 (WITH UNDER 100,000 MILES). THIS IS WHERE OUR KEY IS INSERTED TO START OUR MINIVAN. THE MINIVAN STILLS STARTS AND SHUTS OFF, BUT THE KEY WON'T STAY IN THE IGNITION. UNFORTUNATELY, WE DON'T HAVE THE $400-500 NEEDED TO REPLACE THE IGNITION RECEIVER. THE DANGEROUS PART OF THIS IS THAT THE KEY POPS OUT AT RANDOM TIMES, WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. THE KEY POPS OUT AND LANDS ON THE FLOOR UNDERNEATH OUR FEET WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS WHEN WE ARE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. THIS ACTION IS ENORMOUSLY DISTRACTING AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. SOMETIMES, WE ARE FORCED TO START THE VAN WITH THE KEY AND DROP THE KEY INTO THE CONSOLE, BUT THEN WE HAVE TO GO HUNTING FOR THE KEY IN ORDER TO SHUT THE VAN...

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR VEHICLE DOWN A COUNTY ROAD AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR WHEN SUDDENLY WHAT SEEMED LIKE ALL OF THE INDICATOR AND WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD. SHE PULLED OFF INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD TO TRY AND TURN AROUND TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. AS SHE CAME AROUND THE CIRCLE DRIVE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND APPROACHED THE STOP SIGN BEFORE THE COUNTY ROAD, THE VEHICLE COMPLETED DIED. THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION IT WAS SO DEAD. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BAD TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). THE UNSAFE CONDITION WAS THAT THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE COMPLETELY DIED AND LOST ALL POWER, INCLUDING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ETC., WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTY ROAD AT 40 MILES PER HOUR IN TRAFFIC, IF MY WIFE WOULD NOT HAVE IMMEDIATELY PULLED...

ENTIRE VAN SHUTS OFF! THIS IS EXACTLY LIKE THE RECALL FROM ONE YEAR EARLIER, IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM. WHY WON'T THEY INCREASE THE YEARS ON THIS AND SAVE SOME PROBLEMS.
#11362125 |
VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING. ENGINE IS OFF. ALL POWER IS LOST. THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT WHEN DRIVING DUE TO LOSS OF POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ENGINE POWER ETC. THE CAR WILL RESTART WITH NO ISSUES SHOWN ON THE FAULT CODES. OBD HAS NO RECORD OF A PROBLEM. VERY INTERMITTENT, VERY DANGEROUS. SEEMS THE SAME AS THE RECALL THAT COVERED UP TO THE PREVIOUS YEAR. MANY PEOPLE CLAIM THE SAME ISSUE.
#11361066 |
CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. THERE WAS NO LIGHTS OR POWER. IT STARTED ON A JUMP, BUT BEGAN SMOKING. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT STARTS SMOKING EVERY TIME YOU RUN IT AND THE BATTERY LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAD IT TOWED, AS IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE. THE MECHANIC CHECKED THE ALTERNATOR, BUT IT IS GOOD THE MECHANIC SAYS IT MUST BE THE COMPUTER AND SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP/

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, HE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT INITIALLY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC; THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON HIS VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. DESPITE THE VEHICLE NOT BEING DIAGNOSED, THE CONTACT LINKED HIS FAILURE TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.

WIFE WAS DRIVING. THEN ENGINE WENT TO FULL THROTTLE, WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. SHE RODE THE BRAKES ALL THE WAY HOME, SWITCHED FROM NEUTRAL TO DRIVE, VAN WOULD JUMP INTO GEAR WHEN SHE WOULD SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE, FELT LIKE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING WELL ENOUGH (PROBABLY GLAZED). ALMOST WRECKED, COULD HARDLY STOP. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR

FUEL RELAY ON TIPM IS FAULTY RESULTING IN NOT STARTING AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED BY A RECALL. *TR
#11329471 |
THE VAN HAS DRAINED A NEW BATTERY IN TWO DAYS. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THEIR ROOM'S FROM THIS MODEL YEAR. I HAVE SUGGESTED THEY LOOK AT THE FUEL PUMP TURNING ON EVEN THOUGH A KEY HAS NOT BEEN USED TO START VEHICLE AND TO LOOK AT THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE. SEEMS I HAVE TO DO THE INVESTIGATIVE WORK AND INCUR ALL THE COST. DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY VEHICLE FOR OVER A WEEK NOW. *TR

#11319621 |
APPARENTLY CHRYSLER HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR TIPM FROM YEARS 2011 TO 2013. I JUST HAD TO DO A FUEL RELAY BYPASS ON MY 2011 TOWN AND COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY DID NOT TISSUE A RECALL FOR ALL MALES AND MODELS WITH THIS PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REFUSE BECAUSE ALL MODELS MOST LIKELY USED THE SAME TIPM.
#11315611 |
MY CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS OFF AND ON. THE AUTO SHOP THAT I SEND IT TO HAS REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP 4 TIMES BEFORE ZEROING IN ON THE PROBLEM WHICH APPARENTLY IS THE TIPUM, AN ELECTRONIC PIECE. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PIECE FOR ISSUES INVOLVING THE FUEL PUMP STOPPING OPERATION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. THIS RECALL DOES NOT EFFECT MY CAR, BUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM IS AFFECTING MY CAR. I'M WONDERING WHAT'S GOING ON THERE AND IF THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER REPORTS OF THIS. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
