VEHICLE STALLED TWICE AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, ONCE EXITING THE GAS STATION WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN AND ANOTHER 3 MINUTES LATER AT ANOTHER LIGHT ON THE FEEDER ROAD OF THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY OTHER ISSUES AS CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED: OIL CHANGES WITH SYNTHETIC, AIR FILTER, TRANSMISSION SERVICE, SPARK PLUGS, ECT. I ALSO ONLY USE 89 OCTANE FUEL AS RECOMMENDED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS, THE ENGINE HAS STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING, AT VERY LOW SPEED LIMIT, THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES, AFTER A FEW GALLONS OF GAS WERE USED THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED ON THREE SEPARATE TIMES BEFORE. I AM CONCERNED I COULD BE INVOLVED IN REAR END ACCIDENT IF THE ENGINE STALLS IN TRAFFIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD IN MY CITY THE ENGINE STALLED 3 TIMES IN A 5 MILE RANGE FINALLY SHUTTING OFF AGAIN IN A PARKING SPOT AT MY LOCAL GYM THIS IS VERY CONCERNING, BECAUSE THIS PUTS ME AT RISK OF BEING REAR ENDED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I WAS LUCKY THIS TIME BUT MIGHT NOT BE THE NEXT. *JB
CAR STALLS IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING UP. I SWITCHED FILLING STATIONS, BRANDS AND OCTANES. CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEM. AFTER A FEW GALLONS WERE USED, THE STALLING WENT AWAY EACH TIME. PROBLEM NOW CONTINUES WHILE STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS, OR NO PRESSURE ON THE THROTTLE. WHILE MOVING IT WILL STALL, THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND "DING", THEN WHEN I PUMP THE THROTTLE IT WILL CATCH ITSELF AND THE CAR WILL JERK HARD AND ACCELERATE AGAIN. AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS ONCE IT STALLS, IT WILL REQUIRE USING THE KEY TO RESTART. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM, THE LAST TIME IN AUG 2013, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD STAYED ON. THEY RESET THE CODES AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JS

THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE MAIN COMPUTER SYSTEM BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK, I ENCOUNTERED NUMEROUS STALLS WHILE DRIVING. THANKFULLY, IT WAS CITY DRIVING EARLY IN THE MORNING. SINCE THEN, I HAVE ENCOUNTERED NUMEROUS SITUATIONS WHERE THE CAR HAS STALLED AFTER FILLING UP. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS BAD GAS (I.E. WATER IN MY GAS TANK), HOWEVER, I HAVE SINCE VARIED THE FUELING STATIONS AND BRANDS I USE AND HAVE SEEN NO EFFECT. IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER I FILL UP, AND IT SEEMS TO GO AWAY AFTER THE TANK HAS EMPTIED A BIT. THE LATEST ENCOUNTER WAS YESTERDAY (I FILLED UP TWO DAYS PRIOR) WHILE I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE CAR - MULTIPLE STALLS IN MID-DAY CITY TRAFFIC. AND AGAIN THIS MORNING. THE GAS TANK IS STILL QUITE FULL (IT SHOWS OVER "F" ON THE GAUGE). I _NEVER_ TOP OFF WHEN I FILL - I SIMPLY WAIT UNTIL THE FILLER TURNS ITSELF OFF WHEN...
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C (HEMI 5.7) WILL STALL AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHEN STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE CAR DOES RESTART. AT HIGHER SPEEDS (E.G,, 60MPH), THE VEHICLE WILL EXHIBIT A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER (DROP IN RPMS, FOLLOWED BY A CHIME SOUND) AS IF THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO STALL, BEFORE REACCELERATING AGAIN. THE STALLING/LOSS OF POWER ISSUE DOES NOT OCCUR ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES, THE CAR WILL OPERATE AS LONG AS A DAY OR TWO WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE DEALER PERFORMED A COMPLETE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC - RETRIEVED CODE PO700 - RELATED TO LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH PCM TO MULTIPLE MODULES. (THEY MAY HAVE BEEN OLD STORED CODES.) THEN, THEY CLEARED THE CODES, ROAD TESTED THE CAR, BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER RETURNED THE CAR AND ASKED ME TO MONITOR IT. THEY INDICATED THAT IF THE ISSUE RE-OCCURS, THE VEHICLE WILL POSSIBLY NEED A PCM OR...
AS REPORTED WITH OTHER COMPLAINTS, CAR WILL STALL AFTER REFUELING. YESTERDAY IT STALLED THREE TIMES WHILE REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND APPLYING THE BRAKE. IT ALSO STALLED WHILE TURNING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WHICH PROMPTED ME TO DIG INTO THIS FURTHER SINCE PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM HAVE NOT WORKED!. VISITED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP TODAY AND SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON NOR COULD THEY FIND ANYTHING SPECIFIC TO THE ISSUE THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THE ONLY QUESTION I WAS ASKED WAS THAT IF I TOPPED THE FUEL AFTER THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF. I RESPONDED THAT I DID NOT AND IF I DID WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD THAT MAKE. PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS, AND IN THOSE MONTHS THE DEALERSHIP RE-FLASHED THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE, I HAVE REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, REPLACED ALL THE FLUIDS, AND REPLACED THE PCV VALVE. ON 4 OCCASIONS SINCE DECEMBER 2012 (I PURCHASED IT 6/2012), MY CAR HAS STALLED AFTER FILL UP, ON ONE OF THE THREE OCCASIONS THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. ALL FOUR TIMES THAT THE CAR STALLED, IT WAS WHILE I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND TURNING. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TURNING ON TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN DAYTONA BEACH, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. I DO NOT OVERFILL MY TANK, I ONLY FILL IT UNTIL THE PUMP SHUTS ITSELF OFF. I HAVE HAD MY ENGINE CODES CHECKED AND THERE IS NOT INDICATION OF ANY REASON FOR THE STALL. I HAVE TWO CODES, ONE FOR AN AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR, AND ONE FOR AN OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. NEITHER OF THOSE SHOULD HAVE CAUSE A RANDOM STALL WITH NO WARNING. MY CAR IS WELL MAINTAINED, AND BABIED. *TR
MOST OF THE TIME, THE ENGINE WILL STALL AT A STOP WITH ALL GAUGES DROPPING TO ZERO. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING DOWN THE ROADWAY. ENGINE DOES NOT START SMOOTHLY. MOST TIMES IT TAKES AT LEAST TWO ATTEMPTS TO START IT. SOMETIMES UPON RESTART THE GAUGES REMAIN AT ZERO. UPON START, ENGINE WILL RUN FOR A BRIEF TIME AND WILL RUN MAYBE 1 BLOCK OR SO BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. IT WILL RUN WITHOUT INCIDENT UNTIL THE NEXT EPISODE. THERE MAY BE A SPREAD OF 3 TO 4 WEEKS BETWEEN INCIDENTS. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE SPEED JUMPS UP WITHOUT ACCELERATOR INPUT MAKING THE CAR LEAP FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE TO ME. SOMETIMES WHEN THE ENGINE IS RESTARTED AND PUT INTO GEAR, THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE IMMEDIATELY, BUT AFTER A VERY BRIEF DELAY CAUSING A "JUMP" INTO GEAR WHEN IT DOES ENGAGE. THE ESP BAS LIGHT COMES ON...
VEHICLES STALLING WHILE DRIVING, MOSTLY WHILE DECELERATING. SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY WITH A FULL FUEL TANK AND WHILE PULLING A TRAILER, BUT HAS ALSO OCCURRED WITH A HALF A TANK. NO PROBLEM RESTARTING AFTER STALL. STARTED OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY IN JUNE OF 2013. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 18 MONTHS. *TR
WHEN I REFUEL THE CAR AT ANY GAS STATION, IT USUALLY STALLS A FEW MINUTES LATER WHEN I AM DRIVING. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAS QUALITY, BUT I HAVE TRIED PREMIUM FUEL FROM ALL MAJOR BRANDS, AND EACH TIME I FILL UP THE CAR, THEIR IS A 90% CHANCE THAT IT WILL STALL TWO OR THREE TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. OUR 2006 CHRYSLER 300 SRT8 DIES AFTER FUELING THE GAS TANK TO FULL. IT HAS DIED IN INTERSECTIONS WERE WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT AND IN TURNS CAR DIES, LOCKS UP AND THERE IS NO POWER ANYTHING. EVERY TIME AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE TO A FULL TANK OF FUEL VEHICLE STALLS AND SOMETIMES SEVERAL TRIES BEFORE IT RESTARTS. ONCE THE FUEL TANK LEVEL GOES DOWN ABOUT A GALLON, THE PROBLEM STOPS. THIS ALWAYS OCCURS AFTER REFUELING TO A FULL TANK OF FUEL. IF I FILL TO ABOUT 3/4 TANK THE CAR CAN STALL BUT NOT ALWAYS. THE ONLY KNOWN FIX TO WORK ALL THE TIME IS A NEW GAS TANK FOR $1500 TO INSTALL. *TR
PULLED OUT OF GAS STATION AFTER REFUELING INTO HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, CAR STALLED WHILE TURNING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER (IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN DRIVING SHE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STEER). MANAGED TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND COAST INTO MEDIUM. PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED CAR, PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND CAR STALLED AGAIN. THIS TIME I PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED WHILE COASTING. NO MORE PROBLEMS ON THIS TRIP. HAD THE SAME PROBLEM 3 WEEKS LATER, PULLED UP TO STOP SIGN AFTER REFUELING AND CAR STALLED. I PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED, DROVE APPROXIMATELY 3/4 MILE AND ENTERED STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY. CAR STALLED 5-6 TIMES WITHIN 1 MILE, EACH TIME I PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. SEVERAL TIMES I WAS ABLE TO PREVENT A STALL BY WATCHING THE TACH FOR SIGNS OF RPM DROPPING THEN PUTTING...
I HAD JUST REFUELED (FILLED UP - DID NOT CONTINUE FUELING AFTER THE PUMP AUTO-STOPPED) AND CONTINUED DRIVING TO MY DESTINATION (ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES). I HAD JUST COMPLETED A LEFT TURN, APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, SO I WAS "COASTING" AT ABOUT 15 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE DIED. LUCKILY, I WAS BESIDE OF A VACANT PARKING LOT AND WAS ABLE TO VEER INTO THE LOT AND OFF THE HIGHWAY. HOWEVER, IN DOING SO, I NOTICED THAT I HAD LOST STEERING CAPABILITIES AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE CAR OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS A GOOD THING I WASN'T DRIVING AT A HIGHER SPEED AND GOING AROUND A CURVE, BECAUSE I WOULD'VE SURELY WRECKED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS STILL LIT UP (COMPASS, ODOMETER, RADIO STATION, ETC), BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER STOPPING, I PLACED IT IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE SWITCH AND RESTARTED THE CAR. THERE WAS SOME...
AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE ENGINE STALLED. AFTER RESTARTING AND PROCEEDING THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN WHILE TRAVELING AT 15-20 MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE ALWAYS AFTER REFUELING. *TR

AFTER REFUELING TANK I DROVE AWAY FROM THE PUMPS AND ONTO THE ROADWAY, DURING ACCELERATION TO SPEED LIMIT (50MPH), AT 25MPH THE ENGINE STALLED, WITH TRAFFIC QUICKLY APPROACHING I MIGHT ADD, AND LEFT ME COASTING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THANKFULLY, AT WHICH TIME I HAD TO ATTEMPT A RESTART 3 TIMES BEFORE IT DID START, WHEN IT STARTED I HAD NO ISSUES FOR A FEW MONTHS. THIS EXACT SITUATION HAPPENED TO ME EVERY OTHER MONTH FOR A YEAR UNTIL I LEARNED TO NOT FUEL THE VEHICLE TO THE TOP. IT IS A CONSIDERABLE INCONVENIENCE TO NOT BE ABLE TO FILL THE CAR TO ITS CAPACITY, ESPECIALLY ON LONG TRIPS. I AM JUST AFRAID THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN, AT ANY TIME, WITH NO WARNING, QUITE AN UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING ACTUALLY. I HOPE FOR A SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU. *TR

IT STALLED TWICE AGAIN A MILE AWAY WHILE I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 25 MPH. ON MY TRIP TO PITTSBURGH THE CAR STALLED ABOUT 5 SEPARATE TIMES ALL AFTER GETTING THE GAS TANK FILLED. MOST STALLS OCCURRED WHEN STOPPED BUT AT LEAST TWICE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. CALLED CHRYSLER AND GOT NO WHERE. THEIR SUGGESTION WAS TO TAKE CAR TO A DEALER AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED TO A VERY HIGH STANDARD. NEVER A SCRATCH , OR DENTS. ALWAYS KEPT COVERED IN GARAGE. IT IS IN IMMACULATE CONDITION. I AM SHOCKED ABOUT THIS STALLING AND CHRYSLER'S REPLY TO MY ASKING FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE. *TR
I FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AT THE STATION PULLED INTO TRAFFIC AND THE LIGHT TURNED RED. STOPPED FOR THE LIGHT THE CAR STARTED LURCHING AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. TURNED ON HAZARD LIGHT PUSHED GAS TO FLOOR AND CRANKED ENGINE OVER. TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO GET ENGINE TO START. AFTER THIS INCIDENT THE CAR RUNS ROUGH WHEN STOPPING AT RED LIGHTS. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK FULL I DROVE THE CAR 1-2 MILES AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO GO FORWARD THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED. I COASTED TO A STOP JUST PAST THE INTERSECTION AND WAS ABLE TO RE-START IT. THE SAME THING HAPPENED ABOUT A MILE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD ONLY THIS TIME I WAS NOT STOPPED, BUT DRIVING AND ACCELERATING AND IT DIED AND I WAS FORCED TO COAST TO A STOP AND RESTART THE ENGINE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND THEN STOPPED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT TIME I FILLED THE GAS TANK UP WITH VERY SIMILAR ISSUES, AND AGAIN STOPPED AFTER THE GAS TANK HAD USED SEVERAL GALLONS OF FUEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK (AT A COST OF $1600). THE TECHNICIAN THEN TOLD ME...
AFTER REFUELING, MY CHRYSLER 300SRT 2006 6.1 LITER V-8 ENGINE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH TOWN. IT RESTARTED QUICKLY AND I CONTINUED MY TRAVEL. WITHIN 1 MILE, THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN AND RESTARTED QUICKLY. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER INCIDENT AS OF 5/5/13. I AM CONCERNED AFTER READING AN ARTICLE IN THE PAPER REGARDING THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCTS OF THE SAME YEAR AND SIMILAR MODELS. I TRAVEL THE INTERSTATES OFTEN AND REFUEL DURING MY TRAVEL AND I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT MY CAR WILL STALL ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE TRAVELING 65 MPH SURROUNDED BY OTHER CARS. I HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO MY CHRYSLER DEALER AND UNDERSTAND THERE IS AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION. I HAD JUST REFUELED AT THE QUICK TRIP LEFT THE STATION AND WITHIN ONE MILE EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE CUTTING OFF AND ON. THE TACHOMETER WOULD SHOW THAT THE ENGINE WAS GOING FROM 2000 RPM'S TO 1000 THIS HAPPENED MAYBE 5 TIMES IN A ONE MINUTE SPAN AND THEN QUIT. *TR
AFTER FILLING MY GASOLINE TANK AND DRIVING AWAY THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY. WHILE STILL ROLLING FORWARD I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE. I ALWAYS SUCCEEDED IN RESTARTING THE CAR WHILE IT WAS ROLLING FORWARD. HOWEVER, THE STALLING WOULD REPEAT ITSELF TWO TO THREE MORE TIMES BEFORE THE CAR STOPPED DOING THIS. I REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HAD NO SOLUTIONS. AFTER MONTHS OF REPEATED EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM I STARTED TO FILL MY TANK ONLY TO ABOUT 3/4TH FULL AND THE STALLING WAS SOLVED. CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. HAS HAPPENED ON AN OCCASIONAL BASIS, EACH TIME AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK. *TR
TROUBLE WITH ENGINE STALLING. IT HAPPENS AFTER THE CAR IS DRIVEN FOR A WHOLE OR FILLED FULL WITH GAS. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND THE CAR TURNS OFF. SOMETIMES IT WILL IMMEDIATELY RESTART AND OTHER TIMES IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART IT. WHEN IT STALLS OUT, THE AUTOMATIC STEERING ALSO LOCKS UP CAUSING THE CAR TO BE DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES NOT JUST ONCE.... ONE TIME WAS AFTER BEING ON INTERSTATE FOR A COUPLE HOURS, AS SOON AS WE PULLED OFF THE CAR KEPT CUTTING OFF. IT HAS BEEN CARED FOR AND IS PROPERLY MAINTENANCE. ON SOME OCCASIONS, I HAVE EVEN HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO RESET THE COMPUTER FOR IT TO START. THE PROBLEM HAS BECOME MORE FREQUENT OTHER THE MONTHS. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING CROSS COUNTRY FROM MICHIGAN TO TEXAS ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE LANE GOING 65 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR STALLED AND IT WOULDN'T START UP AGAIN. MY HUSBAND COULDN'T CONTROL THE CAR. HE PUT THE FLASHERS ON. FORTUNATELY NO ONE HIT US. CARS STARTED DRIVING AROUND US. HE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO START THE CAR. WE HAD THE KIDS IN THE CAR AND IT FELT LIKE WE WERE STALLED FOREVER. WE WERE AFRAID FOR THE REST OF THE 2 DAY DRIVE. I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AFTER GETTING BACK FROM THE TRIP. THEY CHECKED THE CAR AND SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO STALL, SO THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. IT HAD STALLED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING YEAR. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I HAD THIS PROBLEM, I FILLED UP MY CAR AFTER A TRIP, AND UPON LEAVING THE GAS STATION MY ENGINE STALLED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO CRANK AND WHEN THE ENGINE DID COME ON ONCE THE RPMS WOULD NOT SETTLE AND THEY KEPT DIPPING TO ALMOST ZERO BEFORE THE ENGINE CUT OFF. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN ABOUT FIVE TIMES AND I FINALLY HAD ONE REPAIR SHOP TELL ME TO NOT FILL MY GAS TANK UP ALL THE WAY AND IT SHOULD PREVENT THE CUT OFFS. I THEN FAILED AN EMISSIONS TEST AND HAD TO HAVE MY GAS CAP REPLACED. I THOUGHT THAT THIS HAD SOLVED THE PROBLEM SO I TRIED TO FILL THE TANK UP ALL THE WAY AGAIN AND...
ENGINE STALLS AT LEAST ONCE AFTER REFUELING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL-LINE PURGE VALVE LAST YEAR,BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THAT IT WAS BAD GAS THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, BUT I'VE TRIED USING SEVERAL BRANDS OF FUEL WITHOUT ANY LUCK. I DON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE THAT MUCH, BUT I HAVE HAD A FEW NEAR ACCIDENTS BECAUSE THE ENGINE ACCELERATES BEFORE SHUTTING OFF. *TR
AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK THE VEHICLE IS PRONE TO STALL. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT RANDOM TIMES AND SPEEDS. IF YOU ONLY FILL THE TANK UP 3/4 OF THE WAY IT SEEMS TO ALLEVIATE THE PROBLEM. NO TROUBLE CODES ARE SET. AFTER STALLING THE VEHICLE CAN SOMETIMES BE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY, OTHER TIMES IT MIGHT HAVE TO SIT FOR 5 MINUTES. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ALONG @ 45MPH APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND THE 5.7L HEMI ENGINE STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING GOT STUCK IN THE FAN. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE LEFT BANK CYLINDER HEAD. AFTER REMOVING THE HEAD AND INSPECTING THE VALVE SEATS NO# 1 INTAKE VALVE SEAT WAS MISSING. AFTER TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT THE VALVE SEATS IT WAS NOTICED THAT SMALL BITS AND PIECES WERE CRUMBLING OFF OF THE OTHER SEATS. FOLLOWING THIS I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND FIND IT TO BE QUITE COMMON WITH THE 5.7 ENGINE. THE MAIN SAFETY PROBLEM HERE IS THAT IF ONE LOSES A VALVE SEAT THEN A VALVE CAN POTENTIALLY BE LOST AND CAUSE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS COULD BE A VERY BAD THING. THERE ARE TWO PROBLEMS HERE. CHRYSLER IS USING A COMPRESSED MEDAL VALVE SEAT...
CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE UPON VEHICLE START. ENGINE THREW A CONNECTING ROD DUE TO CONNECTING ROD BEARING FAILURE. THIS MECHANICAL FAILURE RESULTED IN COMPLETE LOSS OF MOBILITY AND POWER. WERE THIS TO HAPPEN IN MOTION IT WOULD RESULT IN LOSS OF PROPULSION, BRAKES AND STEERING, PRESENTING AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY HAZARD TO THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE AND OTHER DRIVERS IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY. THIS DEFECT HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY BOTH THE DEALER REPS AND VARIOUS INDEPENDENT MECHANICS LEADING TO THE BELIEF THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD, AND IS BECOMING MORE APPARENT AS THIS FLAWED MECHANICAL COMPONENT / DESIGN REACHES THE END OF ITS LIFE EXPECTANCY. AFTER FILLING THE FUEL TANK THE ENGINE WILL STALL WHEN STOPPING FOR A LIGHT OR WHEN FIRST LEAVING THE LIGHT. IT WILL ALSO JERK WHILE DRIVING.THIS HAPPENS UNTIL THE FUEL LEVEL GOES DOWN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A TRAFFIC STOP, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AND WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE PCM FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE EXAMINED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT ALL OF THE PARTS THAT CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE PCM COULD BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,500.
THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND STALL UNEXPECTEDLY. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR ONLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING. I HAVE HAD THE CAR DIE AS I AM CROSSING BUSY INTERSECTIONS. AFTER DRIVING A FEW MILES, THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO GO AWAY. INTERNET CHATTER SEEMS TO INDICATE A BAD EVAP. SOLENOID/CANISTER OR FROM A VENT VALVE SENSOR INSIDE THE TANK THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM AND THE TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. A COSTLY FIX. THIS CAN BE QUITE DANGEROUS AS THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND STALL EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. I ASKED MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER ASSISTANT MANAGER IF HE HAD EVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM AND HE SAID NO, AND ALSO CHECKED FOR ANY EXISTING CHRYSLER SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS SUBJECT AND FOUND NONE . *TR

THE OTHER DAY I GOT OFF WORK AND DROVE OFF FINE. I WENT TO THE BANK AND USED THE DRIVE THROUGH BECAUSE I HAD PULLED IN A LITTLE TO FAR AWAY FROM THE WINDOW I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND REACHED OUT. AFTER MY TRANSACTION WAS DONE, I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND IT WAS STUCK IN PARK. IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT MANY MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. THE INTERNET SUGGESTED PUSHING A PINK OVERRIDE BUTTON WHICH I DID BUT IT DID NOT WORK. IT STATED THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER BUTTON TO PUSH IF THAT DIDN'T WORK BUT THAT REQUIRED TAKING THE WHOLE SHIFT GEAR APART. NONE THE LESS, HAD TO CALL A TOW AND THE GUY INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER 300. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR STALLING WHEN...
THE ENGINE WILL STALL AFTER EVERY FILL-UP. IT STALLS WITHIN 15 SECONDS AFTER STARTING IT UP AT THE GAS STATION. IT WILL THEN STALL REPEATEDLY AT INTERSECTIONS AND EVERY TIME THE CAR COMES TO A STOP. IN ADDITION, IT HAS STALLED WHILE MAKING RIGHT HAND TURNS AND MISFIRES AND STUMBLES WHILE AT SPEED. THE STALLING/MISFIRING EPISODES DO NOT OCCUR ONCE 2-3 GALLONS OF GAS HAVE BEEN CONSUMED. THIS SITUATION IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE BEEN NEARLY REAR ENDED AS TRAFFIC STARTED TO PULL AWAY FROM A GREEN LIGHT, AND ALSO STALLED AT INTERSECTIONS WHILE MAKING RIGHT TURNS.
