2017 CHEVROLET TAHOE Electrical System Problems

My car has a problem This will be the 3rd visit to the Chevy dealership and the 6th time in a garage. At this time, the original alternator that came with the Tahoe, was running high through December and replaced with a new alternator from Parts Geek. It was ok for a couple weeks and is running high again. You cannot test it from a cold start to get this reading. It must be ran for at least 20 min. After a certain amount of time the battery gauge will move to the highest point, the warning lights of ABs, traction control, stabilitrak, trailer brake light, battery light (first time on 1/27/2026 for battery light), loss of drivers assist on 1/26/2026, tire pressure light, car dies coming to a stop sign. I can’t turn it back on for at least a min. I’m stuck inside with zero power, can’t unlock...

The system that I believe to be failing has to do with electrical components of the 2017 Chevy Tahoe. It has completely lost all power two times while driving this vehicle. In both instances, mine & my children's lives were at risk including those who could have hit us. If anyone had been behind me as I was turning and the car shut off mid turn, it's possible we could have been hit by a vehicle(s) going 50+ mph. It's available to you to be inspected if needed. The vehicle has been evaluated by a mechanic who says he cannot find any specific 'problem' but did have to turn off multiple error codes. There is a trailer brake warning that comes up ALOT! Even more when it is raining or cold out . It beeps continuously, can’t see the speed I am going because it’s always flashing trailer brake warning. When I dismiss the message it pops on again and again. I have read up on this VERY COMMON ISSUE , alot of people are having with the trailer brake system warning. It makes the radio system even go crazy . And me Crazy! Constantly hearing the beeping over and over .

Vehicle is randomly not starting, it will turn over and make a click sound

The Trailer Brake System light repeatedly came on 13SEP2022 and continues to alert you while driving with alerting sound. It also is causing my SUV not to start properly and causing voltage shortage issues.

On 05/12/22, Service Trailer brake system warning alerts came on. Simply driving my Tahoe doing approximately 30 mph. We were not towing. It did it non stop for the full 30 miles home chiming and Blinking.

THE BRIGHTNESS IS SUCH THAT YOU CANNOT SEE OUT OF ANY WINDOWS FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. TO SEE OUTSIDE YOU MUST ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS BUT THIS ELIMINATES THE ABILITY TO SEE WHAT IS BEHIND YOU.

THE DASH COMPUTER COMES AND GOES INTERMITTENTLY. UNABLE TO VIEW MILEAGE OR FUEL GAUGE. IT HAPPENS WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AND REMAINS OFF FOR THE DURATION UNTIL THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. THE FREQUENCY OF IT COMPLETELY GOING BLACK IS RANDOM.
