Steering wheel locked driving hazard lights on dashboard on power steering light on stranded on road with my kids took it to riverside chevrolet almost 2 months in dealership 2 technician could not give me a diagnostic on the truck they could not repair the vehicle vehicle not drivable
I recently purchased this vehicle about five months ago. I took it to Riverside Chevrolet to get a diagnostic on it because my steering wheel is locked all the lights on the dashboard are on in the vehicle is not drivable almost a month and a half of Riverside Chevrolet and they could not get a diagnostic on it. Apparently the technicians there were not able to figure out what’s wrong with it. The vehicle is not drivable and it is a safety hazard
I really don't know what happened I was coming from okmulgee Oklahoma I went to turn my signal on to get in left lane and my truck just put itself in accessory mode and I couldn't steer causing my truck to keep straight instead of switching lanes causing me to run into a construction merge sign that damaged my truck my insurance wouldn't cover the damages cause they said it sounds like a malfunction with my truck that I need to contact dealer
The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe seems to be known for thermostat failure. My thermostat gauge while driving would drop from 210 to 160 and stay pinned on 160 and the fans would turn on. I was told by an auto body shop that it seemed to be electric issues. I also had a wire under the car catch fire and the auto body shop said that is why my standing lights would not work in the rear but my brake lights would work. It’s very dangerous that the electrical failure caused a fire to start under the car. Then, I ran into another issue just this week where the vehicle has a cracked AC condenser and is slowly losing coolant. My truck Keeps Shutting off and steering locks up
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stopped; while attempting to accelerate, the steering seized. The Power Steering Assist warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to dealer and a diagnostic was performed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.
All driver assist functions failing
So I got a 2015 Chevy Tahoe that had recalls done but the problems are still there. The power steering works like every 10th time starting the suv.
The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed and while making a left turn into traffic, the power steering assist malfunctioned and the steering wheel became difficult to turn, causing the vehicle to erroneously drive into a busy intersection. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.
Car died with no dash warning. Had battery and alternator checked, battery checked out perfectly fine but alternator needed replacing. Replaced brand new alternator. After replacing, message came up “power steering drive with care”. Steering went completely hard, no other messages or absolutely any lights on dash. Unable to drive due to car steering wheel being locked. The contact has stated that the dealership confirmed the recall and that this issue is common, yet they have not found anything wrong with the vehicle.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM CORNER STORE, POWER STEERING LOCKED UP WITH VERY LITTLE PLAY LEFT OR RIGHT. MY VEHICLE IS UNDRIVABLE AND PARKED AT THIS TIME UNTIL I FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. On several occasions at various speeds, both driving straight and turning, my 2015 Chevy Tahoe has turned off. During higher speeds the SUV will turn back on, instantly, by itself but during lower speeds and turning the car has to be manual turned back on by switching into neutral, pressing the break, and pushing the start button. The most recent time this has happened, it was dark outside and I was turning. I lost everything including my head and tail lights so it was hard for oncoming traffic to see me. I also almost hit someone coming in the other lane because I was unable to fully turn due to the loss of power steering. Complete loss of electronic power steering. My children safety along with my own was put at risk. This problem was supposedly repaired by Courtesy Chevrolet of Ruston,LA July 2021.
Six days ago my 2015 Chevy Tahoe had a sudden loss of power steering assist while driving down the road after having to come to a sudden stop. The sudden loss and stop required me to jar to the R side of the road. Later in the evening while driving home from work, suddenly my power steering began to work again - causing the steering wheel to have a lot of "play" in the turning of the wheel. This sudden loss and sudden return of power steering has increased since the first incident and happens more often than not. Power steering assist, ABS and skid control failed all at once during travel. Also emergency brake light lit up along with these other warnings. Hard to steer. The vehicle has not yet been inspected. Scheduling that now. All dash warning lights lit up along with warning messages just as the failures occurred. Upon restarting the vehicle the failures reset to normal operation. The steering locks up while turning. Also grinds most of the time. The steering shaft retainer in the column fails and allows the shaft bolt to rub on the lower end of the column. Has tsb PIT5312-B. But gm will not cover this. This is a huge safety concern.
I bought the tahoe from a buy here pay here Its a salvage car from the action The guy who sold it to me said he would fix and never did I took it in to a shop because i almost recked and the transmission i think messed up because of the brakes and steering There is also another car he sold that my friend bought for me to fix because the guy sold it with out airbags
Vehicle has shut down twice while turning. When action happens the stability controls are turned off, parking assistance is turned off. All lights on dash flash. With this vehicle having electronic steering, I have no control of this vehicle when it shuts down while driving. Dealer could not reproduce actions to diagnose, but informed me to return if it was to happen again.
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe: The battery indicator goes below the midpoint, then there are different alerts on the dashboard, i.e. stabilitrak, brake assist, battery/power saver, park assist, etc. The a/c all of sudden blows hard with a display blink off, the steering wheel also gets hard to steer and then the vehicle cuts off on its own. The vehicle cutting off has happened mostly when we're trying to park and turning at slow speeds; however, it did happen once while we were stopped at a light and trying to turn into the turning lane and it shut off. The risk is a car accident causing bodily harm and/or property damage. I see recalls for the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe for this same issue, but unfortunately for whatever reason, my particular VIN was not included.
I was on my way home from work, driving 70-75mph and out of nowhere, my power steering stopped working. I pulled over the best I could and called my boyfriend to come and get me. I cannot drive the vehicle because the steering wheel has to be forced and it is very difficult to move. I have read about two recalls regarding power steering. Recall 14743- Replace the power steering assist motor kit. My Tahoe has never had the motor kit replaced. Recall 18289- Update the EPS software. This was done in May of 2019. I have addressed this issue with my dealership with no help. This is going to cost a fortune to fix and this should be covered under the recalls. The power steering is a known issue with GM and this issue almost caused me to get into a crash.

WHEN I HIT A BUMP THE STEERING LOCKS UP FOR A QUICK SECOND AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS FLASH QUICKLY. THE DOORS LOCK AS WELL. IT IS USUALLY WHEN I HIT A BUMP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AREA. VOLTAGE METER FLICKERS AND HEADLIGHTS DIM.
DURING A LOW SPEED LEFT TURN ACROSS ONCOMING LANES OF TRAFFIC, MY 2015 TAHOE HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF ALL POWER AND STOPPED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LUCKILY ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS AT A DISTANCE THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO NOTICE MY TAHOE HAD DIED BLOCKING THEIR LANES, AND THEY CORRECTED THEIR PATH TO GO AROUND. WE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED AT THE LEAST IF ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAD NOT NOTICED THAT OUR VEHICLE DIED. I PURCHASED THIS TAHOE USED 3 WEEKS AGO AND THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES SINCE. AFTER INVESTIGATING ON THE INTERNET I LOCATED POST SAYING THIS ISSUE HAS AFFECTED OVER 1 MILLION OTHER 2015 TAHOES.
IN 2018 I BOUGHT THIS 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE.AND LIKE ONE MONTH AFTER I START HAVING PROBLEMS. WHEN TURNING ON THE BRIGHTS ON MY 2015 CHEVYTAHOE THE DASH SCREEN WILL FLASH ON AND OFF, AS WELL AS SHUT OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN ON. IN ADDITION, THE STABILITRAK WILL FLASH AN ERROR MESSAGE. TOTAL STRUT FAILURE AT 58K MILES; MAKING CAR HARD TO MANEUVER. DEALERSHIP WANTS $1900 TO FIX THE MAG RIDE SUSPENSION, NO POWERTRAIN COVERAGE AT ALL FOR THIS ISSUE. ALSO, A BEARING IN THE STEERING COLUMN HAS FAILED AND THERE IS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE FROM THAT EITHER.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS, 70-80 MPH, STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR BRIEF PERIODS. OFTEN TIMES IT WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING ACTUATION OF THE AUTOMATIC WINDOW SWITCH. IT WAS ACCOMPANIED WITH A LOT OF THE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER, A FLICKERING CONTROL PANEL, ABS LIGHT, STAB TRAK, BRAKE ASSIST, AND PARK ASSIST WARNINGS. A/C WOULD STOP, RADIO WOULD TURN OFF, THE DASHBOARD WOULD FLICKER, THEN I WOULD HAVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THE WARNINGS IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE ISSUE. STEERING WAS TOUGH, THOUGH CONTROLLABLE, BUT I QUESTION THE ABILITY OF A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVE TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE SAME PROBLEM AT THOSE SPEEDS. WHILE DRIVING SUSPENSION SYSTEM ALLOWS CAR TO BOUNCE BADLY, AS IF ALL SHOCKS ARE NOT WORKING, LTZ MODEL HAS MAG RIDE ACTIVE SUSPENSION. THIS PROBLEM IS FOUND TO BE COMMON ON 2015 TAHOE AND SUBURBANS. MANY FORUMS ON WEB HAVE REPORTS OF THIS SYSTEM FAILURE AT LOW MILAGE. MY TAHOE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAS ONLY 71K MILES, NO COLLISIONS OR ACCIDENTS. ALL MAINTAINED CE PERFORMED AS NEEDED.

VEHICLE RANDOMLY LOSES STEERING CONTROL AND FLASHES WARNING LIGHTS. AT TIMES, XM RADIO WILL NOT PLAY. AT ONE TIME, VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESART FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS. OCCASIONALLY, THE WARNING LIGHTS FLASH WHEN MAKING AN ADJUSTMENT LIKE CHANGING TO BRIGHT LIGHTS OR ACTIVATING THE TURN SIGNAL. LEFT TURN SIGNAL DISENGAGES CRUISE WHEN ACTIVATED. GM HAS UPDATED THE SOFTWARE TWICE DUE TO SERVICE OVER THE ABOVE COMPLAINTS. FIXES PROBLEM FOR SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY CARE HAS GIVEN ME A WARNING OF STABILITY RACK ISSUES AND IT WILL THEN JUST SHUT DOWN. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNING INTO PARKING LOTS AS WELL AS BACKING INTO PARKING SPOTS. I THEN HAVE TO ROLL DOWN AND UP MY DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WINDOWS BEFORE I CAN RESTART MY VEHICLE.
AT SLOW SPEEDS THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF TWICE NOW, ONCE IN THE MIDDLE OF LOS ANGELES TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING US TO WRECK! WE HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR THAT AND A POPPING IN THE STEARING WHEEL AND THEY TOLD US NOTHING WAS WRONG. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT!

IN FOLLOWING WEEKS THE CAR ALSO BEGAN HAVING COMPLETE POWER FAILURE AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE TURNING AND CONTINUES TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS TO DATE. THE ENGINE ALSO BEGAN SMOKING IN JULY, CAUSED, AS IT TURNS OUT, BY A JAMMED BELT ON THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MANY POWER FAILURES IN PARKING LOTS, ON STREETS, THE HIGHWAY TUNNEL IN BOSTON AND MOST RECENTLY ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND WHEN THE CAR STALLED IN CHARLESTOWN, RI WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT AN INTERSECTION. WHEN POWER ASSIST RE-ENGAGES, THE VEHICLE WILL JUMP IN THE DIRECTION THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I REPEAT THAT THESE ISSUES STARTED TO OCCUR DURING THE EARLY WARRANTY PERIOD IN 2015. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUES. THERE ARE MULTIPLE POSTS ON LINE CONCERNING THE PROBLEMS WITH THE 2015 TAHOE, SOME ACTUALLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS.
POWER STEERING LOSS OCCURS WITH THE ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DIC "STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE", AND ADDITIONAL ERROR MESSAGE "SERVICE (STABILITRAK)".
POWER STEERING FAILED INSTANTANEOUSLY WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT 15MPH ON A CITY INTERSECTION. LUCKILY AN ACCIDENT WAS AVOIDED. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS. APPARENLY THE STEERING MOTOR HAS FAILED AND IN TURN THEY RECOMMEND REPLACING THE ENTIRE "STEERING GEAR" GM # 84368394 FOR $2250. CALLED GM, THEY STATED THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THIS FAILURE IS CONSIDERED NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL FOR THE 2015 TAHOE MODEL, BUT THIS VIN IS NOT INCLUDED SO THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. THE RECALL REFERENCED IS, NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 4V719, GM RECALL 14743,
MY WIFE AND MYSELF PURCHASED A NEW CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ IN 2015. THE FIRST MONTH THE A/C HAD TO BE REPLACED, RAC AND PINION STEERING AND REAR SHOCKS. THE WARRANTY COVERED THE COST. 2016 OF JANUARY THE A/C STARTED MAKING NOISES AND NOT COOILNG, THE FRONT STRUTS MAGNETIC,BALL JOINTS AND STEERING RACK PINION WENT OUT. THIRD OCCURRENCE WAS IN 2017 DECEMBER THE FRONT MAGNETIC STRUCTS AGAIN. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS NEW VEHICLE FROM THE TIME WE PURCHASED IT. THE SUSPENSION IS HORRIBLE AND WE LATER FOUND OUT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH THE IDENTITCAL HORRIBLE SUSPENSION PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY AT 62K MILE AND NEEDS FRONT END SUSPENSION REPLACEMENT. THE WARRANTY DO NOT COVER PASS THREE YEARS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS HORRIBLE GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT. THE VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY INOPERABLE BECAUSE OF SUSPENSION PROBLEMS AND GM WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT.
MY VEHICLE IS HAVING A PROBLEM MUCH LIKE THAT FROM RECALL NUMBER 14743 PRODUCT SAFETY - LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS). ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS LOST POWER STEERING AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THAT MY SUV IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT THE SAME SAFETY CONCERNS POSED WITH RECALL 14743 APPLY IN THIS SITUATION WITH MINE AND I DO NOT FEEL THEY ARE TAKING IT SERIOUSLY. ALSO WHEN THIS OCCURRED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY THE FIRST TIME, THE SECOND TIME I WAS TURNING ONTO THE STREET I LIVE ON, AND MOST RECENTLY I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT AT TARGET WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME. THIS LAST TIME I WAS ACTUALLY ABOUT TO TURN INTO A PARKING SPOT WHEN I LOST POWER TO THE STEERING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF A BMW. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO TURN. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A CURB. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER (CHEVROLET OF MONTEBELLO, 310 W WHITTLER BLVD, MONTEBELLO, CA 90640) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR BOX WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-3587624197. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT HIS INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
