Driving home 2 blocks from my house when truck stalled completely no power would not start total black out. Resembles recall campaign number14V614000.
Vehicle is experiencing intermittent electrical issues, including vehicle completely shutting off while driving, driver window security warning message appears, radio, outside temp and fuel economy will reset when starting the truck. Last time it shut down while coming to a stop, a message appeared on the driver information screen saying “3 key programmed to vehicle”. Sometimes before it shuts down while driving, the radio and dash lights go out followed by engine stalling and there are different messages that appear briefly, like, service stabilitrac, roll driver window down & 3 keys programmed. The truck has shut down on me while operating 7 times in the last 3 months! This is EXTREMELY dangerous as i lose power steering & brakes! It has happened while in the middle of a busy intersection, in a round about, pulling into a parking spot, driveway and while driving straight on a road. I have cleaned...
When my speed decreases to slow for a turn, traffic, red light,etc-I lose complete power in my entire vehicle. A too fast message pops up on dash about Stabilitrak. If I throw it in neutral fast enough it’s fine, but if I don’t, my truck loses all power and I have to open and close my door, restart my truck, the dash tells me to open and close my driver window, and it drives again but my time and date restarts on my dash screen like I disconnected the battery. It doesn’t happen every day. But when it does, it’s scary because I can’t get out of the road. This occurs unexpectedly several times a month for the past few months. I’ve checked for loose battery cables, etc
Service Trailer Brake message constantly displays on the dash. But I don't haul trailers.
It’s throwing multiple codes for the BCM(body control model) and it’s show recall numbers 15V640000,17V43700 and 14V301000 are multiple recall numbers showing fro a BCM problem
I was driving into a parking doing less than 10 mph trying to angle park my truck. Suddenly my truck accelerated violently hitting another vehicle in the parking lot in the right rear and turning it around. Was hitting the brakes to no avail. Truck continued to accelerate and I aimed for a sign support pole while depressing the brakes as hard as I could. Truck hit the pole and the air bag deployed. Front of my truck was caved in and the truck was ruled unrepairable by my insurance company. I could have been badly injured or killed but thankfully sign support pole stopped me. Have a police report but was unable to scan it to my PC so I said there was no report.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed down to the floorboard, but the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle slowed down and came to a stop with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The failure occurred on 4 separate occasions. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired; however, the contact replaced the brake pads. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, the steering wheel locked, and lost functionality. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle and the vehicle returned to normal functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was...
For months now wire harness part number 842-909-97, rear driver side passenger door wire harness. Wire and connector damage from being poorly manufactured, wire cracking and breaking apart. Waiting for new item availability, can't operate door locks, window. Dashboards light stay on. No dealership or parts supplier in country has any availability or previous part number to replace. Waiting on general motors to bring new wire harness to market. No eta and item is listed as backorder .Been an issue for years now. I can't open My back door in fear of not being able to lock the door and have trouble light stay off. I have a three-door vehicle now instead of four.truck is barley 10 years old. Cost a lot of money for this vehicle.
Noticeable at night. Headlights on, turn signal on, foot on brake slowing down, making a turn, 1) headlights flicker, 2) headlights flicker and complete dash goes black, or 3) all of #2 and steering goes stiff. Has been happening more often. Last time, during the day, turning against oncoming traffic and engine shutdown, started again, shutdown and started, again with dash going black and steering went stiff. When the engine stops and restarts, it does it on its own. I don’t need to turn the ignition key. Very unnerving. My wife won’t drive the truck. Safety at risk is a “yes”. I have noticed when this all happens, the traction control wording comes on the dash and a bell rings. All this has been happening over the last six months. Vehicle only has 94K miles on it.
Rear window defroster overheated/caught on fire. It will be available for inspection unless GM rectifies the issue and removes the components in question. Cabin filled with smoke and a small fire broke out immediately behind the rear headrest/seatbelt location. Rear window section shattered, most of the glass is intact but some pieces were ejected. The problem has been reported to GM but is still in the investigation phase. The vehicle has not yet been inspected as I have just started the report filing with GM. No warnings, indicator lights, etc. were present before, during, or after the incident.
I called GM and the Lady told me that there 5 recalls on this truck of which 4 were taken care of. there still remains one left undone. I purchased this truck from a private owner. the one remaining is the seat belt wire issue. A new warning has appeared on the dash, saying service trailer brake system. This a non stop warning while driving the truck. Very distracting and dangerous. I looked on you tube to see if anyone has this problem. yes there are some. One incident stated that to resolve this issue, someone needed to check the trailer receptacle plugin for corrosion, or broken wires. IF all is good there check the other four connectors under the truck on the frame. Finally if these are all good, then check the fuse box under the hood for the fuse for this braking system. The representative that I talked...
For almost 8 months, the electrical system experiences complete malfuncation. First it was stabilitrac lighting up, the steering wheel would jerk out of my hands. To issue to mechanic where ground wire under passenger side was cleaned and re-installed. This seemed only a temporary fix. As of today, the 2014 Silverado 1500 LT is experiencing flickering dash lights, surging and dropping voltage (battery/alternator tested at normal driving levels), flickering healights. The worst of the situation is complete electrical malfuncation causing the truck to shut down while driving. This has happened twice in the last 2 weeks. It occurs when the vehicle comes to a stop, then when I try to turn, the voltage drops, dash flickers and the truck shuts down as I try to accelerate into a turn.
I have a couple issues, check trailer wiring light, heat from air conditioner, rusty frame undercarriage - really bad , plus rocker panels on both sides rusting out, is there a recall on issues with rusting of frame ? Please help my truck only a 2014 plus had dealer work on air conditioner issues before, dealer never mentioned anything about rust on the frame, when I had multiple oil changes, and many other services done at dealer , I bought my truck from dealer in stow Ohio ! Is there any you can do to help me fix these issues?…

Transmission failure along with over heating an also grounding wire issues dash lights flickering along with headlights, and truck shutting off while driving loosing power steering!!!!
I am having issues with the steering. I keep getting a message about the stabilitrak on my truck and when I drive it the power steering just stops and I have to gain control of my truck. I would think that this should be a safety recall. Please assist with looking into this for me please.
Stabil track and Steering assist reduced warning lights go off while using turn signal. power steering, cruise control intermittently shut off causing jerking steering wheel and inability to steer. Using break and turn signal intermittently shuts off motor.
The contact owned a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the fire extended to the front headliner and front seats of the vehicle. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of the fire department. A fire department report was filed. There was no injury sustained. There was no police report filed. The vehicle remained at the contact's residence, awaiting to be totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 212,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and activating the rear defroster, he observed smoke coming from the rear defroster and filling the interior of the vehicle with smoke. After a visual inspection, the contact stated that the rear defroster appeared to be hot, after which the rear window shattered. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the rear defroster had experienced an electrical short, resulting in a thermal event. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: N192265660. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,000.
During a recent trip while using my turn signals the entire dash would flash off and right back on. When I exited the freeway and turned onto a small side street making a u-turn the engine died without warning and all dash lights went blank. Loss of everything including power braking and steering. Then the info center kept flashing “ Service stablink soon.” On my return trip home the same message kept flashing. There are no codes set in the computer. Just all intermittent electrical issues. Unable to replicate the issues at home. The service trailer tow system also flashes once in a while. The loss of all power shutting off unexpectedly with the engine dying is a major concern.
Dash lights started flickering for multiple seconds, losing control of steering almost crashed into oncoming traffic. Park assist light warning as well. Light for park assist was off. Was in town, whipped it into the gas station best I could. Shut it off. Filled up. Restarted, everything “normal” again.
Got my truck windshield fixed from.body shop and wipers fixed the replaced fuse box but my air conditioner had been acting up before it went to the body shop when we got the truck back 2nd day having it back my wife was driving it with are kids the steering wheel Locked up service power steering popped up on screen and she couldn't steer the vehicle at all we took back to dealership twice they have cleared the code its still popping up service power steering and steering wheel locking up my truck is 2014 and is doing the same things the vehicles are doing that's in the recall and for some reason my truck doesn't have a recall
ONCE DURING A HARD BRAKING MANEUVER, NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN IDELING THROUGH A PARKING LOT i HAVE EXPERIENCED THE IGNITION MOMENTARILY CUT OFF PRECEEDED BY THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMING JERKY AND THE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON. TWICE WHILE BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE EVERYTING SHUTS OFF PRECEEDED BY THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMING JERKY AND THE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON, BUT i HAVE TO RESTART THE ENGINE WHEN THAT HAPPENS. FIRST OCCURANCE WAS JULY 26, 2023 AND MOST RECENTLY AUG. 11, 2023
When something is hit (or pot hole/ rough road etc.)stabiltrak warning and check engine lights flickers, all panel lights go out, and vehicle seems to shut down briefly because you can notice AC go warmer. This is a safety issue.
I have been getting the Reduced Engine Power message due to the drive by wire components and the truck will go into Limp mode. This is a VERY DANGEROUS event due to the fact that a driver not knowing when this will happen. I have pulled into the road many times before and have this happen, and when it does go into limp mode, you are dead in the middle of the road trying to avoid being hit by on-coming cars. It is a KNOWN issue with GM for years now and many Technical Bulletins have been sent out about it.
Fuse junction box- fuses start getting loose causing signals and other electrical issues.
Vehicle door would not open with Key Fob. All the lights started flashing with a clicking sound coming from the dashboard area. The Instrument Cluster goes blank. Service Trailer Brake Message keeps going off and on with no trailer connected. Technician Diagnosed Electrical Fault Per TSB 18-NA-161. The negative battery cable showed excessive voltage drop as a fault. The Technician inspected ground #218 which was identified in the TSB as having potential for pinch under the dashboard insulation. The Technician was able to use a scope and found it to be pinched as described in the bulletin. All the issued were resolved. The electrical conditions happened on more than one occasion. This electrical problem could have happened while I was underway and is a safety issue. Chevrolet is aware of the condition and made no effort to correct the problem placing me in a posittion to be injured or killed....
Vehicle will start flashing stability control and starts jerking from passenger side. Along with vehicle randomly shutting off while traveling and turning back on with steering wheel slanted (wheels not aligned) and saying “ power steering reduced, drive with care”.
2G Onstar device has been disconnected By Onstar creating electrical code in different system including electronic brakes, HVAC Control unit, radio, amplifier, electronic stabilization and parking assistance. Onstar is part of the vehicle communication system between computer and do to disconnection is sending error code to other control unit affecting them. Spoke with Onstar representative that confirm code error B101D:31 will be present do to disconnection of the service and recommended to visit Chevrolet dealership to remove Onstar equipment. Visit a Chevrolet dealership and the service representative told me that they can’t remove the equipment because all other computers on the vehicle are in communication with Onstar device and if removed the vehicle will stop working. Codes present from BCM are U0422 invalid data received, U1509, U0415, U0073, U0077, U0126, U0151. Service representative at dealer confirmed that Onstar will cause other problem do to error communication. Onstar device can shut...
Radio shuts off and turns on randomly its weird
Rear Window Defrost Thermal- When the rear defrost is turned out it has a static/sizzling sound and smoke emitting from behind the cover. I have video proof. Now since this problem has begun, it has led to part of the back glass shattering. GM claims this to only be recall on Canadian trucks and that this exact truck does not fall into the recall category and they are not willing to cover the problem.
I bought this truck in Sept 2017 and have had this intermittent problem from the beginning. The first time I noticed the electrical issue was while travelling on the interstate with the cruise control on. When I would use my turn signal to signal a lane change or press the power window switch, the cruise control would go off. This has been reported to the dealer and another repair shop and they were unable to replicate the problem. This electrical issue has evolved over the years to create a significant safety issue. Occasional while driving at slow speed (I have not had this problem occur at highway speed, thankfully) the warning bell and signals would start dinging and flashing error messages. The errors would advise about stabltrak control and power steering assist. The dash lights would flash and the display screen would go blank. Occasionally the truck would die completely....
On October 29, 2022, I auto-started my 2014 Silverado on a chilly morning. I got in the vehicle approximately 5 minutes later and turned on the ignition. As soon as I turned on the ignition I heard what sounded like a gunshot and I smelled electrical burning. I then realized that the passenger side of my back sliding window had shattered. The rear defroster also smelled like an electrical fire. Upon doing research I found that this is a known issue in the 2014-2019 Silverado's which I was never notified about. I purchased the vehicle used in March of 2021 from Basil Chevrolet in Fredonia, NY. There is currently a full recall in Canada because of the dangerous issue but not in the United States. I reached out to the dealership and Chevrolet but they refuse to do anything about it. I have yet to have the back window replaced...
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition lock cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V640000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 70,778.
While driving I activated my blinker and all the interior lights began blinking and the radio cut out. While I was making the turn the electronic power steering cut out and then came back on. A short while later I was driving at a low speed in a parking lot and the truck shut off without warning. Had I been going at highway speeds this would have been extremely dangerous.
Stabilitrack shuts the truck off while driving
Damage to fuse panel and front left speaker on driver side dash. The Antenna on top of the trucks cab has a known issue to leak. And has leaked down the front left column on top of the fuse panel causing corrosion and damage to electrical components. No evaluation has been done by a certified technician for damage. But available for evaluation per request. No warning lights present.
Steering assist warning light comes on and vehicle shut down losing ability to steer or brake , vehicle wouldn’t start, tried to start the next day and vehicle started. Before warning light all lights flickered when applying brakes and other warning lights lit up!
Using a signal for lane changes causes cruise control to disengage, suspension messages and air bag failure messages as well as tire failure icon would all come on and when leaving the exit ramp and decelerating the engine would die and system would lock up without ability to steer. So dangerous. Then next trip all is good but the engine failing while driving has happened a half dozen times. The last incident was another engine failure during an exit from the interstate in November.
Temporary loss of electric power steering assist, happens mostly at low speeds. also complete loss of power and engine Turing at low speeds. luckily was driving less than 10 MPH but had zero control of the truck and brakes did not work and ran into and curb that stopped me. The vehicle was taken into the Chevy Dealership in Covina 3 times and they said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. There was no warnings at all, just total loss of control
Slow Crank, and Theft Deterrent System comes on while driving and you loose power to the vehicle and stalls outs while in motion, bad negative battery cables are to blame from all our research on this vehicle from multiple online videos it is common for this year, make, model. It happened to us while driving on a highway luck was on our side and no one was around us.
Trucks electrical system will flash and blink and shut down the truck this has happened to me while driving at night on the highway it is very dangerous. Also research I have done shows there is a bunch of people having this problem and they have found that a ground has factory insulation in between the ground and the nut
The rear window defogger caught fire. It caught fire while parked next to a gas pump after using the auto start. If it had happened while driving down the road it could've caused a bad accident. It shattered the window as well so I've had to tape the back window which is limiting my view when driving. The dealership I bought it from knows about the issue. GM has already recalled 160,000 trucks for the same reason in Canada but never issued a recall for any US trucks. Nobody has inspected the component yet as I have not had the money to replace it but it is in the same state/condition it was in after the fire. There were no warning lights or symptoms. The rear window defogger comes on every time the remote start is used. I've used the remote start plenty of times before, luckily I was close...
TCM Failed. Caused vehicle to no longer shift through drive gears while operating. After stopped no longer able to start vehicle. Appears to be common as a result replacement parts re not available.
The power steering went out without warning. The power steering system failed without warning during operation. There was a recall for this in 2017 but my VIN number is not included in this recall.
Steering assistance failed during slow speed turn into side street. Vehicle stalled with no power to steer or brake. Engine turned off allowing vehicle to dead stick accross two lanes of traffic for opposite direction. Vehicle came to rest in parking lot nearby. Had there been vehicles in those lanes an accident would have occurred. Dash board monitor gives signals that "stability track" off and check engine have issues. In August of 2017 received recall letter from GM citing problem with EPS (electric power steering). Took vehicle to Serpentini Chevy on August 13th 2017 and they reprogramed EPS Module. Milage at this time was 20,085. They did not charge for repair. In 2017 my vehicle had no symptoms of recall. Now in 2022 this EPS problem is happening with milage 54,000 twice almost causing MVA.
For several years now, I have been receiving the notification SERVICE: Trailer Brake. I typically try to dismiss it, but on occasion, it will continue to pop up over and over and over and over again. I have never even used the trailer brake. Whe. The warning started i took the truck tk get checked they replaced everything but the wire harness and still every other day i get the warning. Thankfully it has not caused an accident yet but the warning is non stop once it starts.I looked on youtube and there are countless owners that have this same problem. It is definitely a distraction to the driver and could potentially cause a very serious accident.
Dash lights flicker, head lights flicker, loses electrical power randomly, loses power steering at low speeds and electrical power.
As I was picking up my child from school my steering wheel and ac stopped working my steering wheel got locked. I was putting everyone’s life at risk because I wasn’t able to make a turn . We’ve been searching everywhere and it seems it’s a recall .
Trailer brake system keep coming on it is starting to become unbearable and I can barely drive my truck, it comes on at least 20 times while I’m driving on a day so over 100 times in a week
