CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE READING IS SAYING THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CAM SHAFT. VEHICLE HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT AND EXCEPTIONAL UPKEEP HAS BEEN MADE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS I WILL NEVER BUY A GM VEHICLE AGAIN BECAUSE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICES IS REPULSIVE. I AM A SINGLE PERSON ON ONE INCOME I THOUGHT THAT I HAD A RELIABLE VEHICLE BUT I SEE NOW THAT I DON'T.
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES FOR A COUPLE WEEKS WITH ROUGH IDLE AND MY RPMS REVING WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL. ON 12/26/20, MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING IT. UPON RESTARTING IT, IT WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE, BUT NO DASH LIGHTS WERE ON. I HAD IT TOWED TO A SHOP TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE SHOP INFORMED ME THAT IT HAD LOST ALL OF THE OIL DUE TO A BUSTED MAIN SEAL. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD A BULLETIN THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM IN MY VEHICLE. THE SEAL IS BUSTED BECAUSE THE DESIGN OF MY CAR ALLOWS MOISTURE INTO THE MANIFOLD WHICH THEN FREEZES AND BUSTS THE SEAL. IT IS COSTING ME $1500 TO FIX THE SEAL AND CLEAN THE MOISTURE FROM FROM THE MANIFOLD. I AM TOLD THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. I AM...
THE CAR STOPPED WHILE DRIVING AND TAKEN TO THE MECHANIC SHOP WHO DIAGNOSED THE REASON DUE TO A BROKE CHAIN AND THIS CAR HAS FREQUENT OIL CHANGES EVERY 3000 MILES AND THERE WAS NO INDICATION OR EVEN WARNING SIGNS PRIOR NOW THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT APPEARS TO HAVE THESE SAME ISSUES SEVERAL YEARS BACK AND THERE WERE RECALL AND I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR IS ALSO PART OF THIS SAME PROBLEM AND I NEED TO KNOW IF MY VEHICLE CAN GET FIXED UNDER THE RECALL POLICY.

I'M HAVING TO CHECK OIL LEVEL EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF THIS, MY HUSBAND AND I JUST HAD THE OIL CHANGED ON 10/3/2020 AND TODAY 10/5/2020 I'VE HAD TO ADD 1/2 OF A QUART OF OIL! I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS GOING TO BUT I'M STUCK WITH THIS CAR FOR QUITE AWHILE AND HONESTLY IT'S NOT WORTH IT AS MUCH OIL AS IT'S USING. AFTER MULTIPLE OIL LEAK REPAIRS VEHICLE STILL LEAKS OIL WHILE STATIONARY. WHEN THE HEAT IS ON THE SMELL OF OIL COMES INTO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CHECKED FOR ANY RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE BUT NOT HAVE ARRIVED.
THE WIPERS ON OUR CHEVY STOPPED WORKING. COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE BALL JOINT RUSTED OUT. THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2013 MODELS AND CHEVY DID NOT CARRY THIS RECALL TO THE 2015 TO 2016 MODELS THAT ARE ALSO AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. OUR UNIT IS A 2016 AND WE JUST HAD THIS ISSUE WHERE THE WIPER BLADES STOP WORKING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEAVY RAIN STORM. WE ALMOST GOT IN TO A VERY BAD CAR CRASH DUE TO ZERO VISIBILITY AS WE WAS DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM. THE OTHER ISSUES WE KEEP HAVING WITH THIS CAR AND THE CHEVY DEALER SAYS IT'S NOT A ISSUE. IS WHEN THE CAR STARTS THE ENGINE VIBRATES AND SPUTTERS A LOT. AN THE ENGINE DELAYS WHEN YOU NEED TO EXCEL GOING ON THE HIGH WAY.

ITS A VALVE THAT SENDS OIL TO THE DUAL CAMS...IT HAD NO POWER AND WAS USING WAY MORE HAS AND OIL THAN USUAL...THIS IS THE 4TH TIME IN A MONTH IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT...IT ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE THE LURCHING TRANNY PROBLEM
ALWAYS HAD CAR SERVICED REGULARLY, OIL CHANGED. AT 99K, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SERVICE STABLI TRACK, ENGINE MAKING CLICKING SOUND, ACCELERATING AT FIRST WOULD MAKE A STRANGE HUM SOUND AND THEN IT REDUCED ENGINE POWER WHEN I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY SAID I NEED A NEW TIMING CHAIN, BONE DRY FOR OIL, SOLENOID VALVES IT NEEDED NEW ONES....END RESULT, PRETTY MUCH A WHOLE NEW ENGINE, COST ME ALMOST 3000 TO PAY. I HAD NO CHOICE BECAUSE IT WAS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND IM A SINGLE MOTHER WITH 2 KIDS. READING OTHER PEOPLES COMPLAINTS, THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AND ONLY A RECALL FOR 2011-2013 ONLY?? END OF LAST YEAR MY CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING. IT HAD NO OIL. AFTER PUTTING OIL STILL WOULD NOT START. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS FROM CAR THAT IT WAS LOW ON OIL. IT WAS IN MIDDLE OF TIME FOR NEXT OIL CHANGE. I LOOKED UP RECALLS AND THERE WAS NONE. I PUT IN COMPLAINT. THERE WAS LIKE 9 COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE DESCRIBING THE EXACT SAME THING. I REPLACED MOTOR WITH A USED ONE CAUSE I AM ON DISABILITY AND THAT'S ALL I COULD AFFORD. MY FIRST MOTOR HAD 115,000 MILES ON IT. AFTER REPLACING MOTOR, I HAVE BEEN CHECKING OIL REGULARLY AFRAID WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN SINCE SAME TYPE MOTOR. SURE ENOUGH BEEN HAVING TO ADD 2 QUARTS EVERY COUPLE MONTHS IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THERE IS NO TRACE OF OIL LEAKING LIKE LAST MOTOR, NONE ON CONCRETE IN DRIVEWAY. I DON'T DRIVE VERY MUCH, AVERAGE DISTANCE IS 20 MILES...
WENT ON 1,000 MILE TRIP AND CAR DIED. WAS ABLE TO JUMP IT EVERY TIME AND IT STARTED. RETURN TRIP OF ANOTHER 1,000 MILES. CAR WAS CHUGGING WHILE PARKED. LATER ENGINE WAS MAKING A RATTLING SOUND. PUT IT IN REVERSE TO PARK AND ENGINE DIED. MADE A TERRIBLE NOISE WHEN TRYING TO START IT. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THE TIMING CHAIN CAUSED ENGINE TO FAIL AND ALSO OIL WAS COMPLETELY DRY. I GET MY VEHICLE SERVICED REGULARLY BY RANDY REED CHEVROLET IN ST. JOSEPH, MO (FREE OF CHARGE SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE 2 YEARS AGO) WAS NEVER ONCE TOLD OF AN OIL BURNING ISSUE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON GOT A NOTIFICATION FROM ONSTAR STATING THAT ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM ISSUE HAS BEEN DETECTED. ALSO WHEN I SHUT DOWN MY VEHICLE AND RESTARTED IT THE STARTER KEEP MAKING THIS SOUND LIKE IT WANTED TO START AND DID NOT THEN DID. ON ~1/15/20 I WAS DRIVING ~40 MPH ON A SUBURBAN STREET, I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF A HIGHWAY, A WARNING APPEARED ON MY DASH STATING THAT MY VEHICLE HAD NO OIL AND TO STOP AND TURN OFF THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. I DROVE ONE BLOCK TO A GAS STATION AND PUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL IN THE VEHICLE BUT AFTER LOOKING UNDER THE TRUCK, I SAW THAT A GREAT DEAL OF OIL LEAKED RIGHT ONTO THE GROUND. I MADE A SPLIT DECISION TO PUT ANOTHER QUART IN AND DRIVE ~2 MILES TO A NEARBY REPAIR SHOP I USE. MY TRUCK WAS ASSESSED AND I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD A MAJOR OIL LEAK. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED ON 1/21/20. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK 8 DAYS TO REPAIR MY TRUCK AND HAD NO LOANER VEHICLE FOR ME TO USE DURING THE REPAIR. AFTER DOING SOME...
TIMING CHAIN FAILED AND TRASHED THE ENGINE... 3 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY BUT EVERYONE WE'VE TALKED TO FROM CAR DEALERSHIPS, RENTAL CAR COMPANIES, MECHANICS, TOW SHOPS ETC ALL SAID WHEN I TOLD THEM MY TIMING CHAIN FAILED AND TRASHED THE ENGINE YOU KNOW WHAT ALL OF THEM SAID? IS IT A CHEVY EQUINOX?
PCV UNIT BLEW UP AND BLEW OIL OUT THE BACK OF MY ENGINE. IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY AND GM WONT FIX THE PROBLEM. EVEN THE EXTRA NEW CAR INSURANCE PLAN WE BOUGHT WONT COVER IT. THIS CAR IS ONLY 5YRS OLD

THE CONTACT STATED PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RESTATED HOWEVER, AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE VEHICLE STALLED AS A SMALL PUFF OF SMOKE APPEARED IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE HAD BURNT AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE ENGINE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
I WAS DRIVING FROM BALTIMORE TO LEESBURG VA FOR MY COLLEGE CLASSES. WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE 495 NEAR WASHINGTON DC IS WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. IT CONTINUED TO STALL SEVERAL TIMES AND ANYTIME THE VEHICLE WAS GOING UNDER 20 MPH. THIS CONTINUED UNTIL I REACHED MY DESTINATION 1-1/2 HOURS LATER. ALTHOUGH NOT IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THIS CONTINUED ON MY 2 HOUR RETURN TRIP LATER THAT EVENING. IN THESE TWO INCIDENTS THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE NEXT DAY, EVERY TIME I STOPPED THE CAR IT WOULD SURGE AS IF I WAS PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE ENGINE RATTLING AND WHINING CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE ALSO SEEMS LIKE IT HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR AND WHEN IT DID, THE CAR SHIFTED VERY HARD AND ABRUPT NOT KNOWING...
CAR IS BURNING OIL AT ABNORMALLY FAST RATE. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH QUART OF OIL IN MY CAR AT ALL TIMES SINCE FINDING OUT ABOUT EXISTING PROBLEM WITH EARLIER MODEL YEAR VEHICLES AND NOTICING THE PATTERN IN MY VEHICLE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER NOTIFICATION CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. THE STABILITY TRACK NOTIFICATION CAME ON AS WELL. I AM NOW BEING TOLD BY LOCAL MECHANIC THAT I MAY NEED A NEW ENGINE. I WAS INFORMED BY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT TIMING SHAFT AND ACTUATOR MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED JUST TO GET THE CAR TO START. THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM IS THE SAME AS THE EXISTING PROBLEM IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR 2010-2013 MODELS. CHEVROLET HAS BUILT AN ENGINE THAT DOESN'T WORK AND THEY NEED TO PAY FOR THIS. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES THERE NEED TO BE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE.
I HAVE 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX THAT IS SHUTTING OFF WITH INTERMITTENT ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON . TRUCK IS DRIVING ROUGH FEELS AS IF IT WANTS TO STALL WHILE I'M DRIVING.

THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER TSB 14882. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
NO WARNING ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE STALLING (P011 AND P016 CODES) TOOK TO AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP NEW ENGINE REFURBISHED $5000 NEW $10,000 UNFORTUNATELY NO FUNDS FOR EITHER JUST OVER 100,000 MILES AND STILL OWE $13,000 I UNDERSTAND THESE ARE THE SAME ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN NOTED IN FIRST GENERATION VEHICLE. I NOW HAVE TO LOOK FOR A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE WHILE PAYING FOR ONE THAT DOES NOT WORK.
CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND HAS CHEVY SERVICE DEPARTMENT CERTIFIED BAD TIMING BELT. CAR HAS VERIFIABLE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE UPKEPT. THIS IS LIKELY A MANUFACTURE'S DEFECT.
2015 EQUINOX, 103K MILES, PCV SYSTEM FROZE AND MAIN SEAL BLOW OUT. OIL LEAKED OUT VERY QUICKLY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, LOSS OF POWER AND A DANGEROUS SITUATION. BULLETIN 14882 DOES NOT COVER MY 2.4L ECOTEC ENGINE, AS IT ONLY COVERS 2010-14 MODEL YEARS. MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AS THE RECALL IN THE BULLETIN, YET I AM STUCK WITH A $6K BILL. MY VEHICLE ALSO HAS THE ISSUE WHERE IT BURNS OIL. THE LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL DAMAGE HAD ALREADY OCCURRED. BULLETIN 14882 NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE FURTHER MODEL YEARS. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT HAS RESULTED IN A SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL LOSS. GM IS MORE THAN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE.

SEEMS THAT THE PVC SYSTEM PLUGGED CAUSING REAR MAIN SEAL TO BLOW OUT AND LOOSE ALL THE OIL. GM HAS ISSUED A BULLETIN "14882" THAT COVERS 2010-2014 MODEL YEARS. OUR CHEVY EQUINOX IS A 2015, SO THE SAME ISSUE SEEMS TO FOLLOW LATER MODELS.

THE MECHANIC MENTIONED AN UNKNOWN TSB ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED OIL CHANGES FROM RK CHEVROLET (502 N DELSEA DR, VINELAND, NJ 08360, (856) 469-4061) FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE TSB, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OFFERED BY THE TSB. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY OPERATING AT HALF POWER, AND THERE WERE PINGING AND RATTLING SOUNDS. THE VEHICLE WAS BURNING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER ON FEBRUARY 6, 2019 AND THE FAILURE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO...
2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX INTERMITTENTLY SPUTTERED AND STALLED AT STOP SIGNS AND STOPLIGHTS. AFTER STALLING NEED TO PUT CAR N 'PARK' BEFORE RESTARTING. CAR STALLED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER INITIAL STALL. CAR ALSO SPUTTERED AND ALMOST DIED SEVERAL TIMES DURING FREEWAY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN 'NEUTRAL' AND REVVED THE ENGINE TO ENSURE THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ISSUE SHOULD I BEEN FORCED TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. MECHANIC REPLACED THE VVT INTAKE AND EXHAUST SOLENOIDS.
OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. CHEVROLET'S DEFINITION OF OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE IS USING A QUART (OR MORE) WITHIN 2000 MILES (OR LESS) . OTHER COMPANIES WOULD DEFINE THIS AS AN ISSUE BUT CHEVROLET DOES NOT SEE THIS AS AN ISSUE. MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION ON A MAIN ROAD 7-9 TIMES. IT HAS ALSO OCCURRED IN PARKING LOTS. I HAVE TO ATTEMPT MULTIPLE TIMES FOR MY CAR TO STAY ON TO GET OFF OF THE ROADWAY. IT HAPPENS IN FORWARD AND REVERSE.

THE VEHICLE STALLS UPON GOING A SLOW RATE OF SPEED AS WHEN BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT, OR STOPPING AND TRYING TO PERFORM A TURN ON A CITY STREET. IT CAN ALSO STALL ON THE INTERSTATE IF YOU IDLE WHILE SLOWED DUE TO TRAFFIC STOPS. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT STALLS ABOUT 3-4 TIMES A TRIP. SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. OUR 2015 CHEVROLET EQUINOX WITH 62,900 MILES STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE IN REVERSE BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY. NO ENGINE LIGHT SHOWING. CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID THIS HAPPENS AS SOON AS WE TURN THE CAR ON, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. IT ALSO DOES IT WHEN WE ARE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE ENGINE WITH START TO JUMP AS IF IT'S NOT REACTING TO THE ACCELERATOR. WHILE WE ARE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR JUMP AS IF IT'S TRYING TO STALL ITSELF. IN MID-DECEMBER 2018, WE PURCHASED A USED ONE-OWNER 2015 CHEVY EQUINOX FROM A SMALL DEALERSHIP IN JENISON MICHIGAN. IT HAD ABOUT 113K MILES. ON 4-14-29 MY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING MULTIPLE TIMES. WHILE AT IDLE, THE CAR STALLED. WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE BUT AS SOON AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK AND PRESSED THE GAS, THE CAR WOULD STALL AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A MISFUNCTIONING INTAKE CAMSHAFT SOLENOID. PART WAS REPLACED. THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED NUMEROUS TIMES. CAR STARTED RATTLING, SHAKING, STALLING WITH NO INDICATION BEFOREHAND OF ANY PROBLEMS. TWO WEEKS AGO MY CAR DIED WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE.
