GM KNEW ABOUT THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE LACK OF OIL GAUGES, RESULTING IN PISTON WEAR AND FAILURE, CAUSING ENGINES TO SEIZE, YET CONTINUED TO MANUFACTURE THEM AS IS FOR YEARS AFTERWARD. HAD TO HAVE ENGINE REBUILT, COSTING ALMOST $4,000. RECEIVED DENIAL OF ANY REIMBURSEMENT FROM ANALYTICS CONSULTING LLC, WHO IS THE SETTLEMENT ADMINISTRATOR. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON HWY 35 OUTSIDE OF DRESSER, WI AND THE CAR DASH LIGHTS SUDDENLY LIT UP AND THE CAR MADE A LOUD RATTLE AND SMELLED LIKE BURNING OIL. THERE WAS NO WARNING. I WAS 2 MILES FROM HOME SO I CAME STRAIGHT HOME. WE CHECKED THE OIL AND ADDED 3 QUARTS OF OIL BEFORE TAKING IT APROXIMATELY 2 MILES TO OUR MECHANIC. THEY CHECKED THE ENGINE AND CONFIRMED THE RATTLE WAS DEEP IN THE MOTOR AND THE MOTOR HAD BLOWN. AFTER INSPECTION, THEY FOUND THAT A SMALL PORT IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS CLOGGED. THIS CAUSED A PRESSURE BUILD UP AND THE REAR SEAL TO BLOW. WE WERE ALSO THEN TOLD THEY HAD BEEN SEEING A LOT OF THIS PROBLEM IN CHEVY EQUINOX MODELS. WE HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR FOR A TOTAL COST OF $5750.51.

I WILL BE AT A STOP LIGHT AND I WOULD ACCELERATE BUT AS I ACCELERATE THE CAR SHUTS OFF. ALSO, ITS HAPPED ON THE FREEWAY DURING TRAFFIC TIMES, WHEN ITS HEAVY IN TRAFFIC AND REQUIRES ME TO STOP FOR A WHILE AND THEN ACCELERATE IT EITHER LOOSES POWER OR SHUTS OFF.

CHEVY HAD ISSUED SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT 15810 IN AUGUST 2016 WITH REGARD TO THE CATALYST SYSTEM, BUT THE MILEAGE WAS OVER THE COVERAGE LIMIT OF 120,000 WHEN THE SCA WAS ISSUED, AND CHEVY WON'T COVER THE ISSUE NOW.

IT ALSO POSES A SAFETY RISK AS IT CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE WHILE THE CARS ARE IN MOTION. THERE ARE TIMES I ADD A WHOLE QUART OF OIL AND 3 DAYS LATER I HEAR A TICKING NOISE AND MY OIL IS COMPLETELY GONE. MY CAR CONKS OUT AT STOP SIGNS ONCE IN A WHILE, IT TAKES TIME TO ACCELERATE. ALSO MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT WORK IT'S STUCK TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN'T USE IT.
