The air bag never deployed I bought car in 2018 from original owner with car only having 33,000 miles on it and still under warranty til car had 100,000 miles and I hit a deer head on 2 months after getting car which bought in may of 2018 hit the deer in July 2018 . The deer was hit with the front passenger side it broke my headlight n messed my hood up and smashed in the grill little and my air bags never deployed I hit deer at 50 mph , after that had happened I took it in to Chevy dealership and had them look at car cause I told them I hit that deer and air bag never deployed and that my air bag light came on once in awhile and said service air bag . The dealership said they do that sometimes and did something to...

The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start and was jumpstarted; however, the auto theft warning light illuminated, and the key could not be removed from the ignition. The contact was able to drive the vehicle however, the locks failed to lock the doors, and there was a clicking sound when the windows failed to roll up or down. The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle, the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of fuel. The contact stated that the tank was full however, the next day the fuel tank was empty. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 161,595.
Wiring harness is located too close to the human under the driver's seat. Exposes the driver to electrical frequencies that could be avoided if the wire harness was a further distance away from the human. Also, the the fuel line rusted through after 9 years about 9 inches away from the rear axle where the metal tape ends around the fuel line. The metal tape seems to allow more moisture to become trapped around the fuel line; which promotes rust and a leak where the metal tap ends. After the metal tape, the fuel line is in good condition on this specific vehicle. The fuel leak is about 0.5 inches wide and a lot of gasoline drips / leaks after the car is started. The rust particles are located after the fuel filter; which may promote the rust particles to reach the engine via the rusted fuel line. The car...
The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shake, and the vehicle would power off inadvertently. The vehicle would restart however, the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,000.
WITH NO RECENT CHANGES TO THE CAR, IT WON'T START, THEFT LOCK SYMBOL IS ON. TRIED THE SPARE KEY. TRIED THEFT LOCK RELEARN 10 MINUTE AND 30 MINUTE PROCEDURE. DISCONNECTED AND RE-CONNECTED NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL. NONE OF THE STEPS WORKED. THIS ISSUE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO KEEP FAMILIES STRANDED.

IGNITION SWITCH WAS SAID TO BE THE ISSUE WITH MY CAR AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR YEARS 2005-2010 .IGNITION SWITCH SAFETY ISSUE. STARTER MOTOR IS GOOD. BATTERY IS GOOD. ALTERNATOR IS GOOD. WILL NOT CRANK OR START.
I BOUGHT A USED 2009 CHEVY COBALT 2 YEARS AGO IN 2017 WITH 119K MILES. IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE WITH THINGS GOING WRONG! THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE CODE P2135 THAT SENDS THE CAR INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND THE ENGINE SHAKES VIOLENTLY. THIS IS VERY SCARY ESPECIALLYWITH 3 YOUNG BOYS IN THE CAR WITH ME. I HAVE REPLACED THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY, ECM, ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY WITH NEW SENSOR, CRANKSHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR, CAMSHAFT SENSORS, SPARK PLUGS AND SPARK PLUG WIRES. AFTER ALL THESE THINGS I AM OUT OF IDEAS ONWHY THIS KEEPS HAPPENING IN BUT ALL THOSE NEW PARTS HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM THAT KEEPS OCCURRING. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A RECALL OR YOU CAN AT LEAST TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I HAVE READ MANY FORUMS ABOUT PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME ISSUE.
THE VEHICLE ANTI THEFT LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE VEHICLE JERKS IN DRIVE, HARD TO STOP, WHEEL WILL LOSE POWER STEERING IN DRIVE, AND ALL NEEDLES WILL MOVE. IT WAS LOCKED OR JAMMED, DON'T KNOW. KEY WOULD NOT TURN IN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO TURN THE CAR ON!!! I WENT TO THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FROM GENERAL MOTORS ON MY 2009 CHEVY COBALT. I FOUND A NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID# 14V171000 THAT SHOWS THE RECALL FOR MY CAR. IT DESCRIBES AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL. I CALLED THE CHUCK NASH CHEVROLET WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD REPAIRED THE RECALL. AFTER DRIVING CAR APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES ON COUNTY ROADS, AT 25-35MPH. I ARRIVE AT MY DESTINATION, STOP, SHIFT INTO PARK, AND REACH TO TURN KEY OFF. I AM UNABLE TO MOVE KEY FROM THE RUN POSITION, AND/OR REMOVE THE KEY. SO MY CAR IS SITTING THERE RUNNING AND I AM UNABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER NEARLY 10 MINUTES TRYING TO TURN THE KEY BACK TO OFF WHILE JIGGLING THE KEY AND THE STEERING WHEEL, AND SHIFTING THE GEAR SHIFT DOWN AND BACK TO PARK SEVERAL TIMES, I AM UNABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY. SYMPTOMS MATCH EXACTLY THE AN EXISTING RECALL (15V500000) THAT LISTS ONLY THE 2010 MODEL YEAR AS BEING AFFECTED. THE DISABLING OF THE AIRBAG HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW IS ROLLED DOWN. THIS OCCURS WHEN DRIVING AND STATIONARY.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED ON MORE THAN ONCE OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, 14E021000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), AND 14V047000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, MY CAR WONT START AND THE ANTI THEFT ON THE DASH COMES ON BUT THERE'S NOTHING ON TO KILL THE BATTERY. ALSO SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING MY SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON BUT GOES OFF RIGHT AFTER. LAST THING IS MY POWER LOCKS WOULD GO CRAZY JUST LOCKING AND UNLOCKING EITHER WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF OR IN MOTION.

THE INCREASE OF ELECTRICAL POWER SEEMS TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE METER INCREASING. THERE ARE MANY WIRES THAT WERE UNDER THE SEAT THAT ARE SETTING OFF THE METER WHEN HELD WITHIN 12 INCHES OF IT (IN THE AREA THE DRIVER & PASSENGER WOULD SIT - ON THE SEAT). PERHAPS, A RECALL AND ELECTROMAGNETIC SHIELDING NEEDS TO BE ADDED IN THE AREA WHERE THE PASSENGERS AND DRIVERS SIT.

CONSUMER HAD CAR TAKEN IN REPAIR SHOP TO FIX POWER STEERING PROBLEM IGNITION SWITCH AND THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR THREE MONTHS. *TA EACH TIME THE CONSUMER CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE VEHICLE, SHE WAS INFORMED THEY WERE WAITING ON THE PARTS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONSUMER, THE TURN SIGNALS AND AIR CONDITION WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY.*JB
LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE POSSIBLE COVER UP BY GENERAL MOTORS REGARDING AN IGNITION SWITCH DEFECT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HER SON WAS KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CONSUMER STATED HER SON HAD SEVERAL KEYS ON HIS KEY CHAIN. THE KEYS BEGAN TO SWING BACK AND FORTH WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHUT OFF. HER SON LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. *JB

THE DIC SHOWS THE READING OF EACH TIRE PRESSURE BACKWARDS, FOR EXAMPLE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL IS ACTUALLY THE REAR RIGHT WHEEL, AND LEFT FRONT IS ACTUALLY REAR FRONT. ALSO I AM UNABLE TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE LIGHTS TURNS ON BUT THE CAR DOES NOT ENGAGE IN THE SAME SPEED FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL. *JS

I CONTACTED THEM TO SET UP A DATE TO DROP IT OFF ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART. ACCORDING TO GM'S CEO THE PARTS WOULD ALL BE AVAILABLE BY THE END OF OCTOBER. I FEEL LIKE I AM GETTING A HUGE RUN AROUND FROM GM IN GETTING THIS VEHICLE REPAIRED AND NEED SOME HELP GETTING THIS FINALLY HANDLED. *TR

I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND IT WAS RAINING ON THE EXPRESSWAY BUT BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE CITY I LIVE IT HAD STOP. I WAS EXITING THE EXPRESSWAY AND WAS TURNING A LEFT ON THE STREET I LIVE ON. I HAD MADE MY TURN AT ABOUT 30 MPH AND AFTER I HAD MADE MY TURN THE CAR WAS STRAIGHT FOR AWHILE THEN ALL THE SUDDEN THE CAR ACTED UP AND THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE WHEELS OR SOMETHING HAPPEN THAT MADE MY CAR MAKE A SHARP U-TURN GOING IN FRONT OF ONGOING TRAFFIC. MY CAR WENT STRAIGHT IN FRONT OF A CAR AND SHE DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO STOP SO SHE HIT ME AND WE BOTH WENT ONTO THE ISLAND. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. 2 HOURS LATER, GOT A CALL THAT THE MODULE HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED ALSO BECAUSE THE CONNECTION IT MADE TO THE FUEL PUMP HAD BURNED OUT AND FUSED ITSELF TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE SERVICE TECH STATED THIS WAS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE EXPOSED ELECTRICAL CONNECTION INSIDE THE FUEL TANK HAD MELTED, AND IF WE HAD BEEN LOW ON FUEL, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A FIRE. *TR

I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED ON MY 2009 CHEVROLET COBALT, BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS AFTER HAVING THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED. THERE'S THE POSSIBILITY THAT A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC STILL EXISTS IF THERE ARE CASES SIMILAR TO MINE. THE VEHICLE IGNITION WAS INADVERTENTLY SWITCHED TO THE "OFF" POSITION WHILE I WAS GETTING ONTO A HIGHWAY. I WAS SHIFTING MY HIPS TO ADJUST MY SEATING POSITION, AND MY KNEE BUMPED INTO MY KEYCHAIN AND CAUSED THE IGNITION TO SWITCH TO THE "OFF" POSITION. I LOST SPEED CONTROL AND POWER STEERING, BUT I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, SHIFT INTO "PARK", AND RE-START THE VEHICLE. THIS EVENT HAPPENED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF ME HAVING THE RECALL SERVICE PERFORMED AT A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. *TR
