TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 BOUNDER MOTORHOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A TITAN V10 ENGINE, WHICH BLOWS THE SPARK PLUGS OUT OF THE HEAD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY FOR REPAIR EACH TIME AT 5,000, 10,000, AND 10,005 MILES. DURING EACH REPAIR, A DIFFERENT SPARK PLUG HAD TO BE PLACED IN THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THEY CONTINUE TO BLOW OUT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
THE FRONT END WAS "LOOSE". THE DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE JACKS WERE LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE WHEELS AND THIS PUT A LOT OF PRESSURE ON THE CONNECTION OF THE CHASIS TO THE MOTOR HOME. THE BACKET HOLDING THE UNIT TOGETHER HAD SPOT WELDS BROKEN AND WAS BENT. THE MECHANIC SAID HE HAD FIXED 15 OR 20 UNITS WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE UNIT WAS OUT OF WARANTEE BUT THEY FIXED IT FOR NOTHING. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT ABOUT WHICH I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURE. LATER MODELS HAVE BEEN CORRECTED, THE JACKS ARE MOUNTED BEHIND THE WHEELS.
MICHELIN 235-80R 22.5 WITH ONLY 16,000 MILES SIDE WALL BLOW OUT. I HAD ( 2 ) OF THESE TIRES TO BLOW OUT WITHIN 200 MILES OF EACH OTHER ON THE SAME TRIP.
FORD REP STATED THEY HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE 1998 AND STILL HAVEN'T FOUND A FIX FOR IT. THEY ARE STILL SELLING THIS CHASSIC. WE JUST SPOKE TO A REP. AT THE HARRISBURG RV SHOW AND QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT THIS WATER IS DOING TO THE ENGINE AND HE FINALLY ADMITTED THAT WE COULD LOSE AN ENGINE BECAUSE OF THIS.*AK
