When I research by your making model, it shows that there are multiple safety recalls for my vehicle. However, when I put in my license plate urban number, it says that there is zero, because I believe that that is some sort of redacted information that’s not true because my vehicle continues to have concerning safety issues and engine issues and the manufacture is refusing to repair. Also, there are suspension issues and under body, rest, and emissions issues that my state Ohio does not test I purchase this vehicle from Carvana and I believe they shipped the vehicle to a state that does not require a mission passing, because that would have been a flag for my vehicle, and it was very difficult for me to register my vehicle and my state due to a clouded title but it’s very hard for me to get information from dealerships because...
I received a warning light and checked with my OBDII reader that the Diesel Exhaust Fluid transfer pump had a implausible reading and was not working. This is a key part of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, part of the emissions control system, and will make the vehicle fault to the point where it will lock the car from being driven (no start condition).
I have a recall notice for an EGR cooler in my 2015 BMW x5 diesel. At first there was no part available, for at least a year. Now a part has been available since September 2022. I sold the vehicle to my son in Roanoke, VA in September 2022. His dealer claims he can't get the part. This is a SAFETY issue. My original dealer in California had the part, but is telling my son he no longer has a part and in order to get a part from the warehouse, my son's Roanoke dealer HAS to be part of the Penske auto system. The Roanoke, VA dealer was sold around September 2022 and has been totally inept, can't get the part, made some other repair which was incorrect and now my son is driving a safety defective vehicle. This may not be the proper place to make a report,...
I purchased the vehicle in Feb 2022. I received a call from my dealer about the recall last week, they said they would perform the repair on 01/26/23. I picked the vehicle up the next day without them having performed the repair because the VIN still shows "remedy not available". The dealer did not even assess the safety issue when the car was brought in. I do not know if the car is safe to drive. Neither the dealer nor BMW have set expectations for when the recall is to be performed. What do I do next?
My car has an active SAFETY recall, that was issued in 11/2021. Today is 01/18/2023 and BMW still shows the remedy is unavailable. Safety recalls should not be allowed to be ignored by the manufacturer. It's been over one year since issued & they still can not give any estimated time frame, when they might have a remedy available. This is a safety issue & BMW is a MAJOR manufacturer, a luxury manufacturer. Yet they do not care about their customers after purchase & they aren't standing behind their product. My car is having issues related to this recall & their solution is to charge expensive repairs, all the while ignoring the recall. This is unacceptable. The reasonable time frame to remedy this has passed. Again, how is this legal to ignore a SAFETY recall?????
There's not a current solution available for the car from the dealer or anyone please advise on what needs to be done?
DRIVING 30 MPH AND THE BACK TRUNK DOOR OPENS.
I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE AND THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION. IMMEDIATELY REALIZED THAT THE SUNROOF GLASS HAD EXPLODED. FORTUNATELY SUNROOF SHIELD WAS CLOSED SO THAT GLASS DID NOT ENTER INSIDE OF THE CAR WHICH COULD HAVE HARMED MY FAMILY.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WHEN I SMELLED SMOKE AND WITHIN SECONDS THE BACK OF MY CAR WAS ENGULFED IN BLACK SMOKE. I WAS ABLE TO GET IN THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND OPEN THE TRUNK WHERE I SAW A FIRE IN THE TRUNK. I SHUT THE TRUNK AND RAN AND THE CAR BLEW UP TWO TIMES. 4 MONTHS PREVIOUS TO THIS THE LOCAL BMW DEALERSHIP CHANGED MY BATTERY WHICH IS IN THE BACK AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED IT WAS PROBABLY SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WITH THE BATTERY (IN THE TRUNK) THAT STARTED THE FIRE. IT APPEARS THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS WITH THIS SORT OF ISSUE, NOT SO MUCH AS WHEN DRIVING, BUT I THINK MAYBE MY CAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THERE WAS ALMOST NOTHING LEFT TO THE CAR, THAT IS HOW QUICK THE FIRE HAPPENED. *TR
CARPERT FRONT TO BACK IS FULL OF WATER AND MOLD AND WATER IS GROWING EVERY DAY IT RAIN AND BMW WANT TO CHARGE ME TO FIX THIS HORRIBLE DEFECT. I AM VERY SCARE TO DRIVE MY CAR IN THESE CONDITIONS ESPECIALLY WITH THREE KIDS. PLEASE COME AND SEE IT FOR YOUR SELF
THE VEHICLE STARTED TO COLLECT WATER WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE IN THE CAR. IT WAS ONLY UNTIL A UNNOTICEABLE NOISE CAME FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. I INSPECTED IT AND THE REAR AREA WAS SOAKED WITH WATER. SO BMW THINKS IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO STORE ALOT OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT IN THE REAR WERE THE WATER WAS. THEY FIRST CLAIMED THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY CLOGGED DRAINS AND THAT IF THEY WERE CLOGGED, THAT NOTHING WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS "AN OUTSIDE FORCE". AFTER THE INSPECTION, THEY TELL ME THAT A LEAK WAS DISCOVERED AND THAT IT WAS FIXED. BUT NOTHING WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE WATER GOT INTO THE CAR. THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH OLDER MODELS AND DUE TO IT BEING A BAD DESIGN OF THE CAR, REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS THEIR PROBLEM. I READ THAT THERE WAS A SETTLEMENT BACK IN...
MY VEHICLE HAS A FAULTY INJECTOR, SHORTLY AFTER GOT ANOTHER RECOMMENDATION TO FIX THE EXHAUST GAS NOX SENSOR, THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN THE RECALL I RECEIVED FOR ENGINE, ENGINE COOLING : EXHAUST SYSTEM: EMISSION CONTROL: GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE ( EGR VALVE ) DID THIS TRIGGER NEW PROBLEMS FOR MY CAR? IT SEEMS LIKE THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS FAILING FOR A CAR THAT IS ONLY 4YRS OLD.
I WAS DRIVING MY BMW X5 ON I-195 WEST BOUND IN FALL RIVER MA. ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 17, 2019, DRIVING AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT IN THAT SECTION OF HIGHWAY. THE ROADWAY WAS LIGHTLY TRAVELED, MID-MORNING. THERE WERE NO OVERPASSES OR TUNNELS IN THIS SECTION OF ROADWAY. I SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD "BOOMING" NOISE. THE LARGE, PANORAMIC, MAIN SECTION OF MOONROOF EXPLODED, RIPPING AWAY A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF GLASS, BLOWING OUT INTO THE AIR AND SOME IMPLODED INTO MAINLY THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT AND BACK SEATS OF THE SUV. I WAS THE SOLE PASSENGER AND WAS NOT INJURED. AT NO TIME WAS THERE A LOSS OF CONTROL. I PULL OVER TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE TO REVIEW THE DAMAGE TO THE MOONROOF AND REST OF THE CAR. IT APPEARED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS CONTAINED TO THE CENTER SECTION OF THE MOONROOF. TO PREVENT ADDITIONAL SHARDS OF GLASS FROM FALLING INTO THE...
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WILL DOORS LOCKED, THE FRONT LEFT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OPENS BY ITSELF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK. THIS COULD BE LIFE THREATENING IF IT HAPPENED TO THE BACK SEAT DOORS AND A CHILD WAS NOT BUCKLED IN AND LEANING ON THE DOOR.
EXHAUST EGR COOLER LEAK WHICH CAUSE EXHAUST TO ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE VEHICLE. NAUSEATING EXHAUST FUMES LEADING TO SEVERE HEADACHES
I RECENTLY RECEIVED A TAKATA AUTO AIRBAG NOTICE I CONTACTED MY LOCAL BMW DEALER. THEY CONFIRMED THE AUTOMOBILE WHICH I HAVE HAD SERVICED THERE IN THE PAST, STATED THAT MY AUTOMOBILE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. LATER THAT DAY I WENT ONLINE TO CHECK ON THE WWW.AUTOAIRBAGSETTLEMENT.COM TO CONFIRM THAT MY CAR HAD NOT OTHER RECALLS. THE SITE CONFIRMED THAT MY AUTOMOBILE WAS ON THE RECALL. I AM AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT TO DO. PLEASE ADVISE. MY BMW X5 VIN: [XXX] THANK YOU [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
PURCHASED AS A NEW CAR (BMW X5) AND 6-MONTHS LATER THE UNDERBODY SPLASH SHIELD FELL OFF. WHEN I WENT FOR OIL SERVICE THE DEALER STATED THAT IT HAD TO BE REPLACED ($392). THE CAR IS USED FOR VERY LIGHT USE SO I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. IN THIS CASE THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT.
MY HUSBAND WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. HE STATED THAT THE CAR IN FROM OF HIS WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. HE WAS UNABLE TO STOP IN TIME TO AVOID REAR ENDING THE OTHER VEHICLE. WE HAVE A NEW BMW X5 SUV AND HE HIT A LEXUS SUV- BOTH SUBSTANTIAL VEHICLES. BOTH CARS WERE NOT DRIVABLE FOLLOWING THE ACCIDENT. THERE IS MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE- POSSIBLE THE CAR IS TOTALED. I'M NOT SURE YET. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE IMPACT FRACTURED HIS STERNUM. HE DEVELOPED PNEUMONIA 2 DAYS LATER BECAUSE OF THE PAIN IN BREATHING- THE ACCIDENT WAS WED. NIGHT BUT THE FRACTURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. I TOOK HIM BACK TO THE ER FRI AFTERNOON, WHEN THE FRACTURE AND SUBSEQUENT PNEUMONIA WAS DIAGNOSED. HE WAS ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL AND IS STILL THERE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY WANT TO...
