The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the front driver's side seat belt retainer failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the seat belt retainer was fractured from the left side of the driver’s seat belt mounting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with front driver's side seat belt retainer failure. The contact was informed that the front driver's seat belt retainer needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired, but an appointment was scheduled for the repair. The contact had experienced the failure twice. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 53,198.
