NHTSA Complaint #11699768 — 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to latch the front driver’s side seat belt securely, the pretensioner fractured off the seat. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer; however, the warranty had expired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact and another independent mechanic performed the repairs out of pocket. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,500.
