Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the driver’s side seat lap belt cable was fractured at the frame. The contact removed the rubber boot and noticed there were only three strands holding the cable together. The contact stated the failure might have occurred during the crimping process during production. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there was no warranty coverage for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
