NHTSA Complaint #11701440 — 2017 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns 2017 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the message "Service All-wheel Drive" was displayed. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the power transfer unit (PTU) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 20V343000 (Power Train) and 25V011000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recalls. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recalls. The failure mileage was 119,884.
